    I got an 8.5 score, but it was only because I had band 9 in both listening and reading. My writing and speaking however was only 7.5, I know where I went wrong in both. I had gotten confused and only spoke for 2 minutes in task 2 speaking and there were 2 questions that I misunderstood. One was, "What are the qualities a person should posses in the workplace so that they can ask for help." I thought it was about giving help instead of asking for help.
    For writing I had 256 words for my task 1 but I ran out of time before I could reduce the length and my Task 2 didn't have more complex words and I ended up reusing many of the terms instead of properly paraphrasing.
    I hope I can continue practicing and reach band 9 someday.

      @@mandeepdhillon8567 For writing, practice as much as possible. I completed my essays but I ran out of time before I could streamline them. My task 1 was a bar graph with 3 variables so I ended up over explaining instead of just finding the right words to summarize the data.
      For reading, even I'm surprised by the band 9, I had many parts I was unsure of and even spent a few minutes changing my answers.
      I'm a fast reader so I read through all three essays without skimming, and I highlighted everything that I found important while I was reading.
      In order of how I accomplished the task: I first read the questions for the type 1, highlight certain points and then I read the essay and highlight relevant points and stop once I've answered the questions for type 1. I move on to read type 2 questions and repeat. Since the questions mostly follow the order of the essay, it was easy to section my thoughts towards specific parts.
      I thought I was wasting my time as a lot of tips were about skimming instead of fully reading but I had 5 minutes leftover in the end.

      I think that both listeninig and reading are the easiest to get high scores. In my opinion, the most difficult is to improve in speaking because you are obviously required to practice over extended period of time to become a confident speaker. I did Ielts and scored 8 in Speaking with no practice whatsover, while Writing went down to 6.5 becuse I was overly confident in my abilities since I already scored 7 four years ago and my overall English has improved considerably. I think that Ielts doesn't always reflect good English cause it's almost impossible to score well in L, R and W if you don't practice.

    • @winterwolf211
      @winterwolf211 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@milenajevticpetrovic4447 Yeah, hopefully my Speaking will get better once I move to an English speaking country.
      I only had 2 weeks preparation and I was on a time crunch and took the test even when nobody asked for it. I heard it could take 6 months of practice to improve your score by 1 point, consistently.

    Hi Chris, I could not be more grateful for your free contents. By virtue of these tips and tricks from your videos, I pulled off an overall band score of 7.5 (L-8, R-8, W-7, S-7)! I got no subscore less than 7, which means I can apply for a scholarship with a considerably high requirement. I will definitely recommend your channel to anyone who wants to prepare for their IELTS test!! Thank you so much :'))
