I think it might be because of their availability. For example this colourway is of 2+/KT Elite is not available at official Adidas store. Neither was the previous one (Euro2024)
My sons favorite, but he doesn’t wear them in the rain. We got his last 2 pairs well under retail in the previous years color scheme. It has improved his touch, is super comfortable, actually a bit wider than mizuno USA Morelia neo, and has a speed boot design and feel. His first pair lasted pretty long. He used to wear speed portals and is happy giving up the couple ounces for the change in touch and comfort.
Biggest con is no AG Version 😞. Would've bought these ages ago otherwise. The leather is softer than mizunos MIJ on the neo 4 in my opinion. Maybe because there's no stitching
They’re severely underrated and it’s just unfortunate that people have overlooked them. A few reasons I can think why they’re this underrated are the non MIJ Mizuno boots are retailed for less money and are with good quality K-leather meant it’s hard for some to justify to pay $250 asking price when you can get adidas’ own Copa Mundial,New Balance 442 and Mizuno Morelia 2 Elite both for less money but having full leather uppers let alone K-leather. The lack of marketing and elite professional player wearing them also hurts.
It’s a boot that appeals to a small segment. In a way they remind me of the Rebula Cup from Mizuno a few years ago. It’s not a “Leather Slipper” like Copa Mundials or Morelia 2s. Being a leather boot with not a lot of leather. It’s more substantial than your typical speed boot. There is no gimmick or other fancy elements. And the appearance is also quite understated. Its appeal to the broader masses is cutback severely. It’s overlooked for similar reasons the Rebula Cup was in its day. Being relegated to just a “defender’s boot” while not having a spotlight or star endorsement like the Tiempos from Legend 9 on back did. It’s a comfortable, locked in and solid feeling boot, that fits very l well but $250 is a hard sell. At $200 and a little less it’s a fine option. Got mine for $180. Only very minor downsides is the knitted part isn’t as stretchy as I anticipated, not detrimental though. And the studs are too long for dryer harder grounds.
Problem with these are after you are stepped on once, they are ruined. The leather give in to the studs. They get a tear, my kids used it for 2 months and then they where ruined.
yeah same here I got pure 1s and man they are the most comfortable cleats I have worn but unfortunately, they are starting to tear right by the laces after someone stepped on them. They are still intact but it is only a matter of time until they tear through the upper.
I just bought a pair online and used them twice they are size 11.5, do you think they will stretch to fit im normally a size 12 and these fit quite tight and snug first use gave the worst blister ive ever got. Wondering if i should sell them and get a size up.
You also have to consider availability and shipping. For me personally even the Elite Mizuno Neo 4 Beta is more expensive than this cause of where I live. Even though that boot is 10x better it means nothing when its so hard to get.
How is the durabillity on AG? I mainly play on AG pitches and sadly leather boots seem to break ( soleplate seperation) quicker than synthetic boots, which is a huge con for me.
My son played 3 hot games in a tournament with no separation, but I had shoe gooed the edges because they were starting to separate from hard grass play. Having said that he had months old speed portals that the whole sole plate separated game 1 of a later tournament. I don’t think any model is particularly safe from this unless made for AG
My son had the copa pure 2.1 and loved them, recently had to get a pair of the pros during a tournament to replace some speed portal elites that blew up. He loved them, the are a little more protective and thicker feeling than the elite, or .1 that he used to wear. And they are a bit heavier. But he had a great 2 remaining games in them out of the box, he didn’t notice the weight difference and he is a skinny 14 year old. They are more durable as well. Only drawback is a bit heavier, and not as good feel because they are a bit thicker… but maybe more protective because of that?
The heel cushions really ruined this boot. It creates a gap and my heel will shift when I plant, and really bad blisters from the friction. I really wanted to like these, but these aren't it. I promise. If someone has an alternative, or another version of these thats better please lemme know.
Copas are so underrated
but they are to pointy , i have wide squar feet so no pointy shous for me lol
Bernardo wears them for a reason
The ones he wears actually have a construction more similar to the standard Copa Pure 2 Elite, although I’m sure are customized for him in some way
We can't compare with pros messi boots have leather while the boots they sell for his line are not leather.
Sadly doesn’t mean much for your everyday folks who plays football
He's paid to, that's the reason.

adidas x version are pretty light and good , check the adidas speedflow .1 ag versions , thin senthetic .
But you can still use these for artificial turf because the studs are conical and not bladed

We're they the elites or the academy's that you got your kid?
yeah after 1 month mine started to rip from the soleplate a little in the toe area
yeah same here I got pure 1s and man they are the most comfortable cleats I have worn but unfortunately, they are starting to tear right by the laces after someone stepped on them. They are still intact but it is only a matter of time until they tear through the upper.
Love the simple colors on these

Asics?
Nothing beats a leather cleat, once broken in they feel like a dream.
Yes definitely, better than all synthetic bullshit
I'm still disappointed they stopped making laceless copas. My goat boot
Copa 18.1 was the last one I liked
I bought them coz the studs pattern is one of my favorite
Isn't it a very normal pattern?
Using the Copa 2 elite and so far it’s wonderful
mines just arrived today, this was perfect timing
really wanna try these but wish the knitted wasnt only the elite version... still might have to splurge tho 😅
Soooo elegant ❤
Got my pair two weeks ago. after about 5 uses (1 use on a turf pitch) one of the studs has began chipping :( , other than that they are great boots !
They too pricy the same price as a Mizuno why get this when u can get Mizuno for the same price.but if it's on huge discount is worth it.
Let’s not forget that Mizuno elite models have K-leather which unfortunately hurts
You also have to consider availability and shipping. For me personally even the Elite Mizuno Neo 4 Beta is more expensive than this cause of where I live. Even though that boot is 10x better it means nothing when its so hard to get.
Can you review the non KT AG version? I'm curious if the shape of the boot was changed on the AG version compared to the FG.
Hey Josh when will we be getting a review on the new cosmic speed boots, I’m wondering if the metallic look on the upper will wear off
I can’t find this colorway in the elite KT model in the uk
Love Copa pure, but the durability upper not good enough
agreed
I miss the LL version
Hey sr4u, I wear an 11.5 in Nike, would you recommend getting these the same size or going 11?
Hi Josh,
Do you recommend AG shoes for the best comfort and durability? Thank You
Why do you think pros wear the tongue version more than the knitted version?
They are most likely wearing custom pairs that only resemble Copa Pure.
My favorite ones!

I've had mine like 2 months and starting to notice slope plate separation

how does the lockdown compare to the tiempo 10?
My issue is that it has barely any leather on it.
Hello Josh,
What would you choose between mizuno morelia iv pro AG and puma future 6 pro MG?
That decision would depend mostly on whether or not you want a leather boot, or something more sock-like in feel
should i get copa pure 2 league turf or nike phantom gt2 pro
do you have any problem with the heel area in this boot since I heard lots of bad things about the heel area?
Personally, no
Is it that big difference between Pure 2 Pro’s and Elite’s? Its the same leather.
My son had the copa pure 2.1 and loved them, recently had to get a pair of the pros during a tournament to replace some speed portal elites that blew up. @@adamclaybuagh4316 that was detailed answer. Thanks man.

Neuer wears those
"protection" is overrated. Any football boot that gets stepped on by another football boot would hurt.
thicker leather boots give you more protection and less pain brow ,comon sense
They rip easily though :(
Thomas Betty Martin Barbara Martinez Jason
If you had to go play football with your friends and you had to pick a pair of boots what would be your go to option
Laceless copas are better tĥan these i hate laced boots
