    The T-Rex Camera range from Foxeer is insane! They're Thomas' goto camera for both freestyle and cinematography drones. We were at a shoot where he was running both DJI and also his Analog rig running the Foxeer. Anyway there was this one power line I needed to constantly warn him of because it was so hard to see with the DJI. Once he switched back to his Analog rig with the Hero10 for the remaining shots, that power line he could see perfectly. I honestly didn't think there would be a scenario where you would have more information in analog over digital. Even an old fella like me learned some very interesting that day. We still get people who are surprised that we haven't switched over to digital and realistically its just not that simple, hence we use both

    • @joshuasterling2144

      I can't go back to analogue. The distance I fly is less than 400 meters so I never get break up. Plus DJI transmission gear is just tougher than analogue. In the two plus years I have been using it I have never had one fail. The original DJI camera is still the best cam I have ever used. The analogue in this video is certainly flyable.

    • @BMSWEB
      @BMSWEB 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@joshuasterling2144 I pretty much agree with what you're saying. It just depends in how many different conditions you fly, are you competing with broadcast, or military gear. Hence why I don't see one better than the other, all comes down to what works for you and your specific scenario

      Its work perfectly for you. My friends ruin all their digital fpv cam/vtx & need spend hundreds to thousands of dollars.
      I am just flying with my caddx baby ratel & some of trex without broke my wallet.
      I am not into any competition or making money with fpv gear, most of us are like that, so no lost for me & definately lost for my friend's bank account.
      Definately digi system is good in term of video quality, no doubt about that.
      However the analog it is not only flyable, you can be pro cinematographer, top freestyler, top racer or go long range.
      Just don't say analog can only "flyable". You can do anything in fpv circle with analog fpv system too. It is all start with analog system.

    The thing I still love about analog is the fact you do not need to spend hundreds of ££ on goggles to use it. Just a cheap RX and lcd screen and your good to go. Ideal for folks like me that can't get on with wearing goggles. And before anyone chimes in and says i could simply use the HDMI output on a set of HD goggles to plug into a screen, that makes for a very expensive RX unit! I am hoping that it will not be too long before a standalone RX unit is available for one or more of the HD systems. Especially useful if you run a base station using a tracking system. I run AKK vtx's coupled to various runcam split type cameras, and I would say that this Foxeer vtx is giving better results. Nice to see that analog is still being developed, with decent units still being made.

    Another interesting review, and much to many peoples disbelief, analogue has not stopped improving since digital hit the scene. Many of the
    digital evangelists I know are shocked by the image quality I get with my Skyzone o4X's and this camera. It has really closed the gap, especially when
    you add the other small things like better low light capability, 110dB WDR and all weather capability. With everything considered, analogue is still very relevant and
    the advancements are still coming.
    Thanks again.

    • @eddey7357
      @eddey7357 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrismofer from what I heard the performance is wonky when you run analog on the dji goggles because it wasn’t designed for it. That being said it’s still relatively decent from what I’ve seen. another reason someone might choose a dedicated pair of analog goggles is their size and weight compared to the DJI V2s. Though you do have a point about the price tag, but dji is going to release the V3 goggles and nobody knows what that’s gonna do to the V2s when it comes to compatibility with newer DJI systems.

    This vtx I will no doubt add to the fleet at some point.

    The thing you didn't mention Bruce is that yes, you can brute force a good signal with crazy wattage, but alternatively you can stay legal and use a really low power vtx, and instead invest your money in antennas. No need to use such a expensive and power hungry VTX when instead you can just get yourself a good wide beam high gain patch antenna

    I wish we could quickly adjust transmitter power via slider or a switch at least. Most of the time lowest power will provide good quality, because weaker signal bounces less, so there is less multipathing and self interference, but when you go further or behind some obstacles, you might want to crank it up

    Every time I see a review of the best analog cam out there I think it's still not as good as a $20 Ant Cam. I may be at ground level but I can literally see ants with it.

    What does somebody need that much power for. I use a solo tank and that's overkill... ps I fly out 20km on a good clear day

    People forget the #1 benefit of analog over digital: no lag. Digital is notorious for lag of 100ms or more. Not good for racing
