Back when I was in Mazatlan I filmed an episode shooting along the beach promenade with a roll of Fuji C200 which used to be the cheapest color negative film you could get along Kodak Color Plus. Unfortunately, prices went up by a lot since then but it is still the most affordable 35mm color film you can get from Fuji these days.
Mounted to my Leica M6 was the Voigtländer 35mm f/1.7 Ultron.

Dankeschön ☺️
Congratulations, you are the winner of the print. Can you shoot me a message over on Instagram or through my website?
@@therealsirrobin Great!!!! Sure 😁
As usual, you transmit us very nice POV experience! Thanks
Robin rules the streets as usual !
I have used plenty of Fuji Colour and always liked the colours, nice and natural.
13:40 chaos and disorder. Excellent video!!
That feet picture is great Robin. Cheers!
One Place and so many crazy and fun thing awsome! thanks for this episode!
Great images and most importantly, glad it gives you joy. Thanks for sharing. I was lucky to grab 10 rolls of well stored Superia 200 @ $2/USD each late last year. Almost the same emulsion. Still have 7-8 rolls in the freezer.
another nice episode ) have seen a few now without commenting but i especially liked the shots in this episode, and most of all the scene with the "Messy " beach and the guy behind over to exercise with the beach in the background and two balls and one person sitting with his phone. It had a lot of things going for it at the same time :) Nice ! Robin! /Martin The Swede.
Thank you Martin! 😊
I like how some people have such positive reactions when they see you taking their photo.
I am jealous. Hope to travel soon. Great as always 😍😍
Hey mate, just wanted to say I bought your presets on etsy and it's been the first pack i've bought from someone I was very happy with.
That's nice hear, thank you! 🙏
Nice photos and colors from the fujifilm c200 and also it is so easy to shoot there in mexico 📸👍
Man! The color on all these photos are amazing!
Hello Robin
The one with the legs, the wall and the sky is sooo cool. Always surprised with ypur way of approaching people, and a bit more when I see you walking with a Leica, I don't know how many mexicans would venture with an expensive gear, or just a gear.
Many thanks for your work and videos 😁
You know, it doesn't matter if you get robbed when shooting with a "cheap" or an expensive camera, the result would be the same. For that reason it is wise to have insurance that has you covered just in case something happens.
10:20 i love it & great shot
Agreed, that shot with the cliff and feet is pretty great!
Amazing, this film ensures that the color is helping to tell the story rather than fight against it. Love it. 🙏
I recently found some rolls of Fuji c200 still cheap. Maybe there was the wrong price on it. Now I am super excited to try them out. Very nice you always seem to get those nice reactions of the people you take pictures of. The color works great on this episode. Thanks for sharing.
That’s a film I really liked to shoot but during the last year or so it’s getting very difficult to find it. I hope I can put my hands on it again soon. Great episode, as always!
I didn’t like the Fujifilm that much in the past when I shot with it, but seeing your photo’s I will give it a try again, so thanks for the vid! Greets from Holland!
Hey Robin, defintely liked the shots in this video. The leg shot is my favorite too. I have shot quite a bit with Fuji C200 and I actually prefer it over Fuji Superia. Both the grain and the (slightly soft) colors are really pleasing to me. Also, it looks pretty much the same whatever lens you use.
Really good shots !
I just got back to film photography and this video makes me want to stack up on that film stock. Great job showing « vibe and soul » of this film. Keep up the good work!
Always good pictures 😍
Hope there is another episode of the next day!
Maybe, you'll soon find out. 😉
Renders the colors in a nice way, thank you for sharing your work :)
that photo of the shoes was definitely worth getting your shoes wet! Shoe for a shoe
the "messy scene" photo takes the cake for me
that C200 was the first film i shot, it give very nice results, the sad thing was that my first lens focus didn't worked and I noticed that after developing the roll LOL.
Great pictures! I am happy you made this video since I just managed to but five rolls of C200 for my trip next week to a weeks hike in northern Sweden. I am hoping to get nice green and blue colors, but it works great with beach-colors as well. I like that you describes the your thought on on the composition of some of your favorite images.
Have fun shooting! 👍
You never stop! 💪🏻😎
Amazing images! Next time I’m in Mazatlán I’ll work the Malecón.
Flipping awesome film! I shoot Superia exclusively. (AKA it's the only colour film London Drugs sells.
Amazing shots👌🏻
Often, “cheap“ are the ones which surprise me the most with their nice colors.
The one with the legs is the best for this episode, there are several very good, like the one with the gangster looking guy and the one with the mess on the beach, but the legs one is the best considering both the composition and the sacrifice you had to do to achieve it!
Thank you Jorge!
always awesome. congrats
Awesome episode :)
Yeah, I was also thinking about the ridiculousness of the c200's price now. In Ukraine you could get a roll of superia 400 for 1 dollar more than the c200
Once upon a time a roll of c200 cost 135 hryvnias which was like 5usd. Now this film is sold for 230 uah and it seemed to me that Superia with it's 400 iso was a bit more interesting, but now I think that c200 is worth buying even at that price
Great vid and photos, Sir, as usual :)
P.S. one guy that I know tried pushing c200 to 800 isoand got some usable results. When I tried doing that I got images that were in the heavy magenta cast, definetely not as good as Portra 800 :)
Great angles 💸
did the shoes survive? even if they didn't, it was totally worth it for that shot. i knew you'd stop to take the shot as i was watching the video and as i watched the water approach i was thinking "he isn't going to make it." lol
Yes, they survived at least Mazatlan but by now they are history.
Love the legs photo
omgg the fuji c200!! i've always wanted to shoot one for myself but they are sooo pricey :(
my favourite shot would definitely have to be the one with the legs dangling off the "cliff" !!!
6:07 I thought exact the same - is a good one but could've been the best in the episode with different framing, maybe cut out the second kid and have the girl above in instead - also a bit of the darker blue wall with shadows on the right would've been nice...
6:06 Great shot
I always push C200 to 800 personally, I really like the results, though they sometimes need some colour correction, but in general silverfast does a really good job with it.
I've only pushed it one stop but I liked the results. Great to hear that two stops would work too!
Amazing epidode
Nice video! I’ve been sitting on a roll of c200.
Don't sit on it, film doesn't like warm temperatures. 😁
Im DM gibt es C200 auch für 5€ wenn er vorrätig ist natürlich. 😄 Die farben sind echt der hammer.
Bei mir gibts in allen Filialen nur Kodak, auch bei Rossmann sieht es nicht anders aus. 😭
I need to go to a crowded beach now
28mm fits you better most of the time. Did you sell the Summicron? And my impression is that not all Film stock should be overexposed.
Of course I didn't sell it, it's my favorite lens. I have it with me on my trip right now.
Nice! :)
Have a nice day!
Your video looks like it’s shoot in c200, cool cool 😎
You know how your day is going to by the first shot you take haha... when I take a bad first pic I know my day is going to be hit and miss...with that first pic you took I knew the rest will be great 👌
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. 😁
Love the colors of that film 🔥
Despite not having the low sun flare or more of the longer shadows of some of the other the pics, 8:42 had me looking longer because of the story telling elements in a more complex composition drawing the eye across it. 9:58 had the aforementioned long shadows and massive flare/glow but maybe too many phones? 😆
Nice shoots, I am from egypt and was wondering how was your shooting experience in egypt, like where did you shoot and how was people reactions
I only shot in Cairo and that was geat. People where super friendly and rather curious about what I am doing. There are not many people out and about shooting street. I'd love to return to Egypt one day and shoot more!
You need some slides to stuff in your pack my friend! Love the photos!
Slides are great but I prefer "proper" shoes when shooting. 😎
Random I’m always wondering what Billingham he’s carrying around Hadley small or regular size. I got a glimpse of it in one of his videos and wanted one ever since
On this trip I didn't bring a Billingham bag. Honestly, I have no idea what my model is called. 😁
Try the Film Never Dead KIRO 400 film roll.
I have never heard of that film. 😱
That film looks better than some pro stocks imo.
10:21 was a must have ; )
In UK that roll went from £3.60 to £10. No longer budget option. Now I mainly shoot hp5
The legs shot is pretty interesting, for some reason I thought there's 3 people on the frame
I am pretty sure c200 is about 3 euro right now at dm. I picked up a few rolls last month. Its 3 or like 3.99.
But where? I have never seen Fuji film stocks in my local DMs, only AGFA and Kodak.
@@therealsirrobin i checked yesterday my dm (idar-oberstein) has fuji c200. It was 4.50 not 3.99 my bad. They dont have color plus anymore though
@@mcarr4903 Not cheap but still way less than most other retailers. Do they also sell Kodak Gold 200?
@@therealsirrobin yeah in 3 packs... earlier in the year they were 7.95 now they are 9.95.
Robin, buy a pair of “oofos” flip flops,it’s super comfortable for street photography.
Haha, I much rather wear "proper" shoes when I am out shooting.
Excellent ♡
Would like to win the print with the legs hanging over the edge :)
This is very good budget film stock, now the price even increased alot
Love the 1st print👌
I shot this a lot... until the price went up...
Anyone thought we was saying "Motherland" in a thick Russian accent the first few times?
