Her voice may not have been at its peak here, but there's no denying that she still sounded great. She adjusted accordingly and sold the song as only she could. What a loss to the world. Her talent was otherworldly.

A hard life that is singing. A shame that anybody puts themselves through it if they have medical problems especially heart issues. A far different Whitney that the the woman I saw on Top of the Pops in April 1987 singing I wanna dance with somebody. She was only 23 then and single before all that happened her afterwards. This life can bring you down and Whitney went there sadly. Easy to go down under the eye of the media and the public. God bless you you. I listened to your cassette tapes when I was lonely as a teenager many a night. You had a great voice.

That's one thing about Whitney that made her LEGEND unquestionable. She will only lip sync if it's impossible for her to hear the band or orchestra because of ambient noise or if she's promoting the studio version for the first time. Whitney Houston was, is, and always will be THE TRUTH.

She probably could have worked on rebuilding endurance and some range. I'm sure she has been through the trenches of physical/drug abuse. I felt for her and was rooting she would come back and rally. RIP. One day I hope to hear her sing with the angels.

Wow. This performance is truly amazing. It feels so unfiltered and raw, as if there's minimal use of autotune or other enhancements-though there are probably many subtle ones that my untrained ears can't detect. Her voice sounds incredibly strong and grounded. It’s as if you can really hear her natural tone, her technique, and how she would have sounded rehearsing in a room. That special quality of her voice set her apart and made her truly unique-an icon. One of my favorite songs of hers is "When You Believe," as I think Whitney and Mariah really complement each other's voices in such a delicate way. They were also friends, although the media at the time tried to pit them against each other as two divas who couldn’t stand one another.

To me this was the best live performance of I look to you. She could still sing this wasn't the 80s, 90s, or even 00s Whitney this was the new Whitney. This Whitney didn't have to prove anything to any of us. She has already set records and has already captivated us with her magnificent vocal ability. She will always be number 1 because she was a true virtuoso. She always gave it her all no matter what shape her voice was in. Name another artist who can do this without any problems. Her voice was the 2010s version who could still sing songs from the 80s such as Dancing with the Stars I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Clive Davis Pre Grammy Party It's not Right But It's Okay, Good Mourning America Just One of Those Days, and from her new Album the American Music Awards performance of I Didn't Know My Own Strength just to name a few and Don't forget they all were live performances. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave her this raw talent and her gift was ministering the talent to us. What a mighty good God we serve, despite our imperfections God still loves us. Don't let this world fool you because he is the Creator of all things. He is the alpha and omega, beginning and ending don't get caught up with the things of this World it's all temporary. God wants to use us for his glory not to uplift Satan's and his satanic kingdom that will lead us to damnation. God is the way no one comes to the father but by Jesus Christ he is the only way. She is now at peace from the harsh cruelty of this World. Thank God Almighty we are not perfect, but we should strive to be but love your neighbor as yourself. Amen!!!!!!!!!!!

I look back at some of these later performances and though her voice had changed, you can still tell that she could sing. With age, length of time in the business and the unfortunate drug use she still maintained her basic vocal structure, runs and all. Some singers these days sound so bad you can't tell they ever knew how to sing. Their fans make excuses blaming age and length of years they sang, but listening to Whitney with added obstacles makes me know they have no excuse. I feel privileged to exist in the time period that Whitney occupied. The best!

@@MercifulExorcistClive Davis is on record stating cigarettes where her biggest problem
And they did affect her voice the most
She could barely speak in 2005 and had to do voice therapy and get surgery done to help her to sing again
She was diagnosed with emphysema a medical condition characterised by weakened lungs later , her autopsy confirmed the condition was pretty bad
Emphysema primarily affects smokers and can make a person find it difficult to breath let along sing
If Whitney had her old breath support even with the same changed sounding voice She probably would have been able to to do what she used to

At that time, I was always looking in the internet for news of her, hoping some day to listen a new song, to see her come to stage again and shine. I didn't care too much of what people said about her voice because her soul kept being as powerful and inspiring as always. A true artist, always looking for a answer in her faith and what she believed.
