I lve been tearing these about since 2010 and i love them loads , maintenance is key pn all of them but i witnessed a powerloss to my first ktm and ill be more careful with this one now
Love my 88 yz80. Its old and beat up but after a successful top end rebuild (my first ever), its pissed off and wants to throw me off. Its perfect. Yz125s are awesome but i have gained a lot of respect for these 80-85cc 2 stroke bikes as well. Tons od fun and a perfect bike to learn about maintaining 2 strokes.
It depends on your preferences and what type of riding you're doing. an 85 2-stroke is a lot faster but it also requires more maintenance in the long run.
Thanks. I'm a novice novice rider lol. That said, I'm probably in over my head with a '24 YZ250 and '24 KTM 300sx, both being 2 stroke MX'ers. I'd go for a KTM 85sx, but I'm pretty sure I would squash it at 5'11 204 lbs! I have a '24 TTR-125LE but that bike is just underwhelming. I used to have an old '89 kx80 that I rebuilt and which I could pretty well manhandle, but I unfortunately sold it.
@@MotocrossHideout Well, probably not. I like the adrenalin factor. I'll be careful not to ride outside my comfort level, and to keep the engines "cleaned out" I like go fast in a straight line, not over jumps lol. thanks again
Does the KTM 85 SX sound like the right bike for YOU?
What year is the bike

Nice, yeah they're definitely peppy and fun to ride if you can handle the power!
I have a drz 125 for about a month now but it’s already slow do you think I should buy this?
I’m 5,6

Remember no bottom end first time on kx 100 felt totally useless having clutch it or nothing
Thank you
You're welcome - thanks for watching, Jacob!

Yeah, those MX bikes are not made for "putt-putt" or casual riding - they like to be revved out!
Are you considering getting something more docile?
