    I can be very emotional and remembering ,Dwelling on the past for too long, And subjecting myself with people places and things have caused me to relapse quite a bit in the past for years and years When I finally stopped hanging out with those people and going to those places that was finally the game changer for me and totally believe that’s why I have five years now for don’t do that anymore still growing and using a lot of the tools that you have mention and some new ones thanks to you!

    KJ, You're awesome. You mention self-pity is a trigger. Shame is a self-pity, don't you think?

    • @DRKJFOSTER

      Thanks for the kind words, Gus 🤗 I believe they are distinct. Shame can lead to a feeling of self-pity but self-pity can also be triggered by other experiences as well. They are not one in the same.

    This video is like example of me when I'm trying to reason why I shouldn't do a certain thing but my crooked thoughts are just like the planes passing by that I'm forced to stop for a moment and in that moment I just go with the plane. except that she didn't go with the plane.

      @@DRKJFOSTER thank you for sharing your knowledge I don't think I have a real problem with drinking but some of my friends do that's why I ended up watching your video but I realized that if I my self want to stop drinking for good I now know exactly what to do and thet same process I can apply on some other things too and i think it works, so thank you.

    What if my husband.. the one that is the addict ... claims when we argue I AM THE TRIGGER what do I do ... should I leave him because I am the reason ... ???

      It is very common for individuals who are experiencing addiction to place the blame on other people. I don't know your personal situation, so I would not necessarily jump to the conclusion that you should leave him because he is blaming you. This is where you have the opportunity to set boundaries. This is why you seeking your own support and guidance is important. Is he refusing to address his issue? Refusing to get treatment? If so, you may need to separate yourself from him and the issue until he is willing to seek help. His recovery is his responsibility, but he first has to face that he has a problem and be willing to get help. Your recovery, on the other hand, (and you do need rehabilitation and recovery), is your responsibility.

    Sex can be a drug of choice

    • @DRKJFOSTER
      @DRKJFOSTER  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, Shaka! Often, I find that there is a link between the sex and substance abuse. One can often trigger a relapse with the other.
