How to FIX Microphone & Headset on Xbox Series S/X Not Working (Fast Method!)

- Do you want to know how to fix your Microphone and Headset on your Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S when it's not working? Sometimes there can be an issue with your Xbox controller's firmware when your mic is connected directly to your headset. To update the controller firmware go to settings, then to accessories and update your controller. Now reset the cache on your Xbox by turning off the Xbox, unplugging the power cord from the back of the console, and plug it back in. Then go ahead and turn your Xbox back on and see if your microphone and headset are working.

have you tried using the headset on a different controller to see if that works? I thought it was a mic issue for me but the mic works fine on a different controller
Nope, still doesn't work. My headset works but the microphone doesn't. It says that xbox couldn't find my microphone

I've noticed on some headsets I've had there audio jack can be loose sometimes like mine is it's a little bit but still works and only stops working if I push the jack one side or the other but check the audio jack and make sure it isn't loose when you plug into the controller

Make sure the audio cable cord is compatible with both mic and headphones. Some cables support headphones only.
Question how can I get that Xbox wallpaper from the background them?
My issue is, and this is thru two different headsets cause I assumed the first one was not working, is that the sound will stop then restart every few minutes, any idea how to fix?

I'm on a series s using a xbox 1 controller and a series s wired head set when I go to use the headset the TV don't mute and I dint hear anything through the headset but the mic works and when I use a aux cord and a normal pair of head all ot dose is mute the TV and I hear nothing
I was going bonkers trying to fix this but after everything I think the mic on my turtle beach headphoes is just dead. It doesn't seem to work on anything which is weird because generally the mic doesn't even do anything to break, it just recieves vibrations. The headphones usually go far before the mic. Maybe I yanked on a wire or moved it around too much. This is why I don't buy the $300 "elite" headphones that use the same mic thats on the $25 headphones.
same with mine, so weird just bought them too and the mic wont work on anything. Nothing i do will fix the mic even when everything else works fine
Settings,network settings,advanced settings, alternate MAC address and then press clear for Xbox
Will restart and mine just worked.

Ok i did all this. It say im connected it shows the picture i went threw all the settings and turned it all on and allowed all the other stuff. The headset is brand new i can hear the game threw the headset but can not use the mic still. If i dont power on the headset i can still hear but if i power on it turns right back off. I checked my 3.5 cable connection i used multiple controllers im bout 2 tap out and go buy a Playstation
No one makes videos about microphone gain and how we can't adjust it. My mic is stuck at 39dpi and I can't find a fix. I've tried other controllers plugged in and other headsets nothing helps
My headset connects and work then after 10 minutes it just stops? Any way to fix
It's not so much about the headset but the mic issues, When talking to friends on their end I sound distorted like a robot echo more or less

Party chat and voice chat seem to be clashing. If you have 2 people playing in party chat on voice you won’t hear your team in game and they won’t hear you
Tried both and still didn't work. Was in party and in game with friend suddenly both him and game went quiet. He can hear me. But I can't hear anything from my headset. So mic works but not headset. TV emits sounds. But what the heck do I do. I've restarted my console, updated controller. I don't know what else to do.

@@WestenGWclips my stereo adapter I guess. I plugged the HP in my controller itself and everything works. So idk. Noise is a little less and can't mute as easily or change volume as easily, but eh.

I know it's an old set but still good, with all the functions etc and I keep it clean so why are we all going through all this when it's the latest generation and it's 2023? I swear I think people make it this stupid just to take years off our lives to depopulate or something, because I have no idea at all why it's this stupid. I am going PS5 ASAP

ive been having a problem where i can hear the people but i cant talk ill give you the solution to this problem instead of watching these yt vids:
Solution 1:check mic settings
solution 2:get a new mic (what worked for me)
if this doesnt work go to the repair shop because their is either something wrong with the controller or xbox

3:honorable mention:check and make sure your controller is updated
You can go into the system settings and clear the cache not have to unplug amd tester yr Xbox guys

@@Dogma210 I know my headset is an old set but it is still really good with the different setting etc and it's a new Xbox so why is this happening, it's non sensical and it's making me go towards PS aswell. Look what day and age we are in, but we can't hear through a headset that we paid good money for, it's so infuriating. I see so many people in other videos say the same like wtf. Looks like we will have to reset the Xbox if you have not already tried that. I have not yet because it's just a whole process & should not be like this. Thank you for replying.
