Just got my 300 and already my favorite pair of boots ever and most comfortable. After seeing this I do what the Forefronts now. Hard the believe they would be that much more comfortable than a 300. Well worth the money.
First pair? What’d you order!!?? Submitted an order for 300s at first.......Then, after sleeping on it, I called our crew @JK Boots and we switched to some Forefront’s. I have a pair of Superduty shorts also, and like a red wine from the finest Italian vineyard, the fit really does improve with age and use, in my humble opinion. So damn good!
In the bottoming the boot stage, 19:14 when he starts nailing the sole into the boot would the nail penetrate the boot inside? specially at the center? how does that work? thanks.

Excellent video and a very high quality boot! My question is, what happened to all the nails that were driven into the temporary mold that was removed when the bottom of the boot was glued on? Aren't there just a bunch of nail poking up through the sole?
No they are clinching nails so they bend and go back into the leather when they hit the metal last. That’s how they clinch the layers of leather together.
The areas where there’s threads on the outer sole should have grooves, so as not to wear the threads quickly. Threads will be more protected when in the grooves.
Hi there. i’m looking for work boots.I am an auto mechanic.I’m interested in something flexible, oil resistant and 10 inch high what’s your recommendation?
@@jimdandy4329 great. Ur allowed to do that. IMHO It’s not the best way to say “I care abt my job” tho I do realize it’s a joke but most npc’s don’t know what jokes are.
I have a pair of the forefront bison’s and the arch support is great but probably not as aggressive as something like a logger. I feel like if you need more arch support than the forefronts offer then you have a unique foot or unique needs and should just have boots made completely custom to you.
@@rhythm618 Or anything on the 55 last. Not sure why I would go custom, these appear to be a moderate arch. You say yourself, not as aggressive as a logger. 55 last + wedge. No custom needed. I was just curious about these. I have a pair of 300s but for work I like 55 last better.
@@averyj.steele1074 I always viewed boots made on the 55 last as custom. The forefronts don’t seem much different than an off the shelf boot. I forget that there are quick ship and in stock boots made on the 55 last.
We add a last to the boot that stops any nails from going through! You will be able to see a 'last' at 10:55 . This gets put into the boot and is the form that the boot is shaped around. The last has a metal plate on the footbed that bends the nails backwards into the boot. This is called "clinching" the nails. We have a video explaining this process in more depth - th-cam.com/video/mBKXeUngJvA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SFas3ZzZAheryxvq
Errrmm, I allso thought about that. And the simplest explanation for myself was - different forces tearing the boot in different directions, so they might keep statistics of weak points.
The winter boots you produce are very nice, but the material you put on the sole is a bit simple. Let me explain it this way, it is like you are attaching the wheels of a normal vehicle to a 4x4 off-road vehicle. Your company needs more special types of shoe sole rubbers. These should be both thick and suitable for the purpose of use. A 4 or 5 cm thick sole that would make its owner feel special would be suitable for the winter boots shown in the video. Just as car tire manufacturers produce 100s of models for different purposes and seasons, you should also have the opportunity.
@@InGrindWeCrust2010 It produces winter boots mostly for eye-catching purposes. The leather part is very good but the sole part is very simple. For 4 mm thick leather boots, a 3*4 cm thick shoe sole is required, but I have not seen it.
@@ufukgul3221 I'm not sure what you mean. JK has an Arctic model that is a work boot for cold weather with more rugged lugged soles. This Forefront model has a sole that's specifically suited to concrete shop floors, indoor carpentry, and similar work. It's not made to be "eye-catching" but for a specific work application.
Overall it looks like a good boot. I would buy it. I just don’t know what to think about those seems in the sole of the boot. They don’t even look good.
It's a lock stitch, so they hold even when they wear away on the bottom. It's for function. Many manufacturers that use this type of sole stitch through the upper and mid-sole(s) only and then only glue the sole on, which hides the stitches.
