I'm pretty sure JDM implies that no matter what brand, it was a vehicle model/submodel designed to meet japan's domestic vehicle code and be sold there. Idk what the deal with people is, you can have a JDM ford if it was designed for japan and sold there
Interestingly, if you order a Porsche in Japan, choosing a left-hand drive version is a no cost options. For those who didn't yet know; having a left hand drive car in Japan is a symbol of status, much like right hand drive cars in the US or Europe. Except while in Japan it is to prove wealth, for us it's more just to be cool
Americans import right hand drive Golf from Japan with taxes and much more while the USDM Golf were either scrapped or left to rust somewhere in the woods.
