    Great video, just subbed. Gonna binge through your whole video archive of this beauty to see what I can fix on my '98 OBS, probably those fuel/oil temp lights first lol. Cheers brother! 👍

    For the rattling in the rear I recommend wrapping electrical tape around the “U” metal bracket that the hatch lock secures to. It stopped a lot of my rattles.

    • @AustinJenner
      @AustinJenner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didnt think of that, i recently taped the white plastic trim mounts on the trunk cover so if that doesnt work Ill look at the backet

      Thank you so much for the advice, i finally got around to taping the u bracket and ive never had a quieter ride in the last few years lol

      @AustinJenner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sweet! Yea I love the wing on top, and suspension was the first thing I did to mine after some general maintenance

      Where'd you find the upper spoiler?

    • @AustinJenner
      @AustinJenner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andytheffboy Should be able to find it off of ebay, just search gf8 rear spoiler. The previous owner had already installed this one so im not entirely sure where it was from

    Just got a 2000 for 8k$ brand new sway bars and oem wheels with Continental tires. It's a dream to drive! First step is manual swap

    • @AustinJenner
      @AustinJenner  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats! How many miles? I have thought about doing sway bars on mine but for now I really enjoy just having coilovers and the 2 sets of wheels for the different seasons. I dont think I will ever get rid of mine and if I had to in the future a manual swap would be awesome. Its my only regret with the car as an Auto but at the same time it was one of the cleanest cars I was able to find

    • @Cherry_Yuho
      @Cherry_Yuho 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was shocked to even find mine but it has now 94k but when I bought it it had exactly 92458 on original motor and transmission. Got it from some spoiled kid who's dad didn't have the patience anymore to do everything for him. Subaru's in Seattle are impossible to find not rotted out or turboed without the appropriate parts.

      @@Cherry_Yuho Wow sounds like a steal! And yes thats how it is here too in WV, theyre either rusted out or clapped out haha.

    this car is literally bulletproof mechanically it amazes me. I have very little mechanical knowledge and do little maintenance and yet it somehow has survived my ownership😂 The only reason it ever stopped running was because the battery died

    • @AustinJenner
      @AustinJenner  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for sharing! Ironically enough, shortly after I had bought this car my battery had died as well but since then, only normal maintenance has been done to keep it going!

    I live in WV as well, so if you decide to sell your car I’d love to possibly purchase it in the future.

    I have this same car and I’ve seen two other owners who have those three meters on the dashboard! What is that and where did you get it? It looks so cool.

      Thank you! They are gauges from glowshift! The ones i have are oil pressure and battery voltage and then a blank one since i dont have anything serious in my car. You can get the gauges from here : www.glowshiftdirect.com
      As far as the dash goes, you can also get it from glowshift here : www.glowshiftdirect.com/fiberglass-triple-gauge-dashboard-pod-for-1998-2001-subaru-impreza/
      Hope this helps!

    Very nice car I just bought me a double RX 1996 still working on it and I love it so far❤ only problem that I have is the price for things of this car if you know a place where I can get parts cheaper please let me know

    • @AustinJenner
      @AustinJenner  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you and I am glad you like yours! They are relatively easy to work on and are really enjoyable. I have run into the same issue with prices of parts. Sometimes eBay and local Facebook groups have decent prices on oem Subaru parts but they are hard to find. If I can’t find originals I usually order from rock auto and 1A auto. Good luck!!

    Bro I am thinking about buying this same car at 52k miles… have you had any of the dreaded head gasket issues everyone says these have?

    • @AustinJenner
      @AustinJenner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome thats a steal! Hopefully it was kept up with and doesnt have some of the rust these cars suffer from. Surprisingly my car has been great being 22 years old. I am the 3rd owner and closing in on putting 20k miles on it. Ive only replaced the battery and knock sensor then the usual maintenance. I did have the rust repaired on the quarter panels but after a few years in the snow and salt its starting to come back. I would not trade this car for anything lol
