For example, she was planning my outings with my son through my son when I'd pick him up every other Sunday. He'd get into the car and run off the itinerary ( can't make it up) I still was allowing it, then after several months I told him, this is our time, let's plan together on what we would want to do. That was my last time seeing him after I dropped him off. I know he is well because I check his school's portal but other than that he wants nothing to do with me. 😪

Lesson: Never respond to domestic violence without standing "guard" at a door. Never sit with your back to a door in a public setting. Regarding the victim: The most dangerous time is when the victim tries to end a relationship or physically attempts to leave. The abuser reacts violently oftentimes deadly because s/he is losing control.
What are the options? Don't telegraph the pass. Secretly, carefully plan to escape by reaching out to local agencies that provide emergency resources. Again, the "key" is to not let on the relationship is ending.
If there is literally no way out? Go on back "to the old landmark." Wait until the abuser is asleep and baptize that a** with a pot of hominy grits prepared with a bit of lye. It worked for grandmother--way before there was a 911. Don't tarry. If you do you may not live to regret it.
