Love to see current tutorials still being made about this. I think it's great that fans are still able to access all these old events and content. One of the features I've used this for most in recent memory is accessing the Wi-Fi Battle Tower in Generation 4, which can be used to get the otherwise unobtainable World Ability Ribbon on your Pokemon. The teams that have been uploaded to that tower are wild and sometimes frustrating to fight, but I found it an interesting endeavour nonetheless!

@@dilansyku6558 Specifically for 4th gen games, you need to use the hot-spot method. I have done it for both, 4th and 5th gen games but 4th gen is a special case when it comes to wifi connection.

I've been trying this and other DNS options from multiple other sources, but have been getting error code 20110 (Internet no longer accessible for this game) on HGSS using an open network on the 2.4 GHz band, meaning this isn't working for me no matter what I try. Anyone else having this issue? I'm stuck on what to do, I wanted to get the HGSS event Pokemon for Celebi and Arceus.
I don't know if you fixed this issue (im 4 months late, sorry) But have you tried to use the same dns for both? Also if you're using through your router, there could be a chance your router won't allow DNS change.

Would you consider these Pokémon still legit? It's not like we're using an Action Replay. I really like the Shiny Entei. I'm trying to Shiny Hunt it in HeartGold too, but it's quite time consuming.
When redeeming non key item events it's better to change your date of your system beforehand to one of the actual dates you can obtain the event. You can trash the wonder card afterwards. But for any key item events like Member Card, or Oak's letter, those you can't throw away. Unless you are gonna send say that Shaymin from Platinum over and delete your save afterwards it's fine, but for me, I may keep Shaymin in Platinum and would like to have my start date to be before the event distribution happens and any day after the release of Platinum so my save will have the Oak's Letter or Member Card, but the start date won't be after the event distribution ends.

I recall ages ago I found a website that had a list of all the pokemon you could download, but I can't find it anymore. I'm currently getting pokemon for my Japanese Black 1 and boy they had TONNES of events we didn't. idk how many though. Bulbapedia exists, but it feels a bit bloated to navigate

This is a very helpful vid but unfortunately it seems like iPhone does not allow for you to turn off the hotspot password. Did anybody else encounter this issue and figure out a solution? I’m trying to get celebi and some other gen 4 events.
The only thing you can do is to get a cheap Android phone and put your sim card in that or buy an old router off of ebay (I've seen the latter done a lot lately). Besides that there isn't much you can do to my knowledge.
Little late but; Now that I’ve obtained the key items for Platinum, they don’t seem to work or initiate the event (Secret Key, Membership Card, Oak’s Letter, and Azure Flute). Are they disabled since the event if over or am I missing something?
Update: Figured out that I needed the National Dex to start the event for the Membership Card. For the Secret Key; I was talking to the wrong part of the wall 😂. All key items work as intended. Oppsie poopsie 🫡
all the events are post-game i believe. make sure for the membership card you’ve set off the roaming cresselia thing first. azure flute you have to beat the elite 4, same thing with oaks letter

Hey. I’ve been trying to figure this out for hours. When I change my dns the network in my 3DS settings keeps failing. It connects to my access point but fails when trying to connect to the internet
If you have a modded 3DS you can inject the events in manually with PKSM. Otherwise there is a team working on it, I just have no idea when that would be out.
So this did NOT work for me on my normal 3ds kept coming with error code 6000 for both white 2 and black. So I tried to access it with my "Altered" *cough cough* 3ds and I was able to get a new pop up asking me to set up my account or friend code or something like that. i did this but it keeps giving me an error and it says that the servers were discontinued (im on pokemon white and on the 3ds and using the latest dns on poke classic network) edit: it has now changed to error code 50099 and it says no access point in range
Been trying the last couple days, the one in the video or the one in the description doesn't seem to work. Tried with the different secondaries I've seen online, sometimes it connects, but the gifts won't seem to work. Some DNSs that I've tried will give me some of the gifts but they repeat the same 5 or 6 ones. I don't know what I'm doing wrong unfortunately.

You can probably reconnect your router again to make it have no password
If not then you have to use an android
If you have a Mac there is a way to set up a hotspot chain through its wifi settings

So this did NOT work for me on my normal 3ds kept coming with error code 6000 for both white 2 and black. So I tried to access it with my "Altered" *cough cough* 3ds and I was able to get a new pop up asking me to set up my account or friend code or something like that. I tried setting everything up as described on my 3ds, the connection test was successful, but I keep getting the error code 50199 when I try to get mystery gifts for Pokemon Black :/ I've triple checked my DNS settings and hotspot settings, but I don't see any obvious errors on my end. The server status seems to be up and running currently, so I'm out of ideas for what could be going on ://
The only thing I'm aware of is that sometimes your type of router can screw it up. That's the only thing I can think of. Sorry :(

@@strayedservant4916 see I only did the DNS begining with 168 for Pokémon White 2 via my phone hotspot. I don't know if it's the same for heartgold. I say try looking around or search on chat GPT ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i did this but it keeps giving me an error and it says that the servers were discontinued (im on pokemon white and on the 3ds and using the latest dns on poke classic network)
edit: it has now changed to error code 50099 and it says no access point in range

Been trying the last couple days, the one in the video or the one in the description doesn't seem to work. Tried with the different secondaries I've seen online, sometimes it connects, but the gifts won't seem to work. Some DNSs that I've tried will give me some of the gifts but they repeat the same 5 or 6 ones. I don't know what I'm doing wrong unfortunately.

Is it possible to get the exact same gift multiple times? For example, multiple shiny Giratinas? I really hope so, because I just grabbed everything without resetting for natures or stats 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
You will get the gift more than once (due to how the servers randomize the events) but if you try to download it again the game itself won't let you.
