But I think you’re honestly right, they really just don’t make events like how they used to. They have so many samey serial code distributions nowadays that they just feel like footnotes most of the time unfortunately. 😩

Fateful encounter Shaymin was made as a requirement for the Gracidea specifically to block Shaymin caught in DP by the tweaking glitch to get access to Sky Forme. The Shaymin in those games doesn't have the flag.
I used the AltWFC and my 4G hotspot in order to get event stuff for Platinum, SS and White. I already knew this could be done but thanks for telling everyone else that it's possible.

Because I got it on a 3DS that no longer has a working wireless function but I played the game on another 3DS sometime later and I was wondering if I could still spread the ticket with this new console (or if I can do with with any other 3DS as long as I use my game with the ticket for that matter).
One of the reasons that Nintendo doesn't do in person events at places like gamestop anymore is because they were breaking their contract with Nintendo by lying to customers telling them you must buy something to get the pokemon. A few stores were even humiliated by Nintendo for their greed and breaking their contract. I know there's more reasons than that, but having lost my chance to get an event pokemon due to gamestop lying and demanding I pay for a free pokemon is something I'll never get over. They deserved to go out of business. (2024 gamestop today isn't doing to hot. It may go under soon.😊)
Do you know if there is any way to get celebi into pokemon BW without either buying and completing colloseum, or modding my 3DS? I'm not sure it's on the Nintendo wfc for hgss despite what I've seen, because serebii hasn't listed that on their event distribution page. You also seemingly can't transfer from crystal vc. I really want to shiny hunt the zorua event, because the zoroark is shiny locked.
Yep, you can get Celebi in all of the gen 4 games via the DNS - there was a celebi given out in 2011 so you could trigger the Giovanni event in HGSS and then transfer it for the Zorua event in BW. Might take a few tries to find it, but it should definitely be an available one!
If you're using pkhex I'm sure you could inject a shiny pokemon, but I believe there are action replay codes that can be used to allow you to remove the lock and "shiny hunt" an entree forest pokemon like a normal static encounter.
The only little advise i'd give to the creator of this video would be to talk a little slower since people who dont speak english as their first language or ar not perfectly fluid in it may have some trouble understanding some things (like myself, needed to hear some parts multiple times). But thats it.
You can use PKSM to inject all the gen 6-7 wonder cards and event pokemon/items, as well as injecting them from the PKHex event database, I just skimmed that section because it was mostly information I'd already covered and wasn't anything too exciting on its own.

I'm guessing they did something in the transition between generations to smoothen NWFC, but idk. So yeah, shouldn't be to hard for anyone, and if you're like Chuggaconroy's internet, he found a way around it in his Pokemon BW2 Join Avenue guide
The DS only connects to WEP hotspots, while DSI and 3DS have actual proper internet functionality that doesn't endanger your security. Gen 5 are DSI enhanced, Gen 4 is not. That's the only diffrence I am aware of.

I believe the save file would be what distributes the ticket, so you should be able to spread the ticket on your 3DS with working Streetpass
