@@joehiatt1992literally the same as the kukurin g2 master but it funny because it's actually is about the same price , make you wonder where they cut corners beside the battery
Great. Idea. Been waiting for someone to review this new scooter. I am disappointed in Ausum because of their upgrade of the Ausum Gallop, which seems inferior w a less powerful battery and looks more like an Apollo go pro. I have been in the market for the kukirin g3 pro and was about to get the go gallop despite the weight for its features or battery removal etc, but the g3 upgraded the handle bars a buttons. I like this leopard scooter as it is a nice option, but I would have loved a better battery option etc. it seems similar to a g2 master in a sense. Would love to see a side by side with the og gallop. Though for the weight and your review, it seems like a viable option
Hello Tom. Thank you for doing this review. It was fire. I hope Ausom will send you the new Gallop to review. I will be adding the new Ausom Leopard DT1 to my fleet.
Thanks, man! I was honestly surprised with the power delivery on this scooter. It ate up all the mountain roads here with ease. And at 67lbs, I think I now have a new favorite scooter haha. The default torque/acceleration setting is set to 5 which is insane. You literally peel out with both tires lol.
Hello Tom. When will you be doing full range test .? I would like to know before I pull the trigger. And Ausom would not let me use your code for new DT1 PRO. not sure why. ?
Considering what great values the original Ausom Gallop and Titan build cousin, Kukirin G3 are, I've always wondered how much more success they'd be enjoying if it weren't for their Chinesium branding & marketing approach. Like if they had discussions with a single western advisor who could have said, "no no no bro.. go with Viper Scooters or Nitro Scooters or G-Force Scooters or Polarion Scooters!" ..each of which took me a full second to think of. It may be a small thing but to me it's an indication of how serious these companies are, how much initial investment / research they've undertaken and how long they might be around. Btw, Leopard is a great model name and probably should have been their brand name.
It’s so nice up here right now. Huge relief from the Phoenix metro heat. Crazy to think it’s just a couple hours or so away. It’s also the first time my GoPro hasn’t overheated since about April haha.
That's awesome! I'm going to post a full-range test as well as a speed and acceleration test. I may even take it up a mountain in the Phoenix area to see how well it does 9.5 miles up a mountain road. Once you get yours, you may want to dial down the default acceleration mode. It's super intense. Both wheels literally peel out haha. I set mine to 2. Default is 5.
@@tomsgadgetgarage noted on that acceleration adjustment, thank you. Do you have guides on flat-proofing the tires? Like favorite product like those gels you inject on the port, or if we can somehow make it tubeless?
So I’ve used Slime in the past on some other scooters. I personally have never run into a puncture plat of any of my Ausom scooters. I did have a torn tube around the valve stem but that may have been caused by a defect or tire creep. I did install PMT tires in the Gallop which are pretty thick. They are street tires so they are nearly silent compared to hybrid tires.
Hello Mr Tom....I have a question ,I purchased this Ausom Dt 1 for my college aged son.We have been looking on line for a steering damper, is there one particularly for this scooter ?? And you mentioned PMT tires for this scooter, will they fit this scooter that has inner tubed tires ?
Hello! So I’m not aware of a steering dampener for this scooter at the moment. I’ll circle back with you if I do find one. As for PMT tires, they work for both tubed and tubeless. I meant to make a video in this a while back. I will shortly though.
@@tomsgadgetgarage Thank you Tom I contacted Wyrd Ryds & the PMT tires are on the way as we speak...And there is a damper for the Gallop but he has the Dt1 Pro and I want him to be safe 👍 Thanks 4 ur time
Ausom's website doesn't make it easy to know the differences between the standard Leopard and the Leopard Pro but one of the things I've noticed based on the performance specs (assuming they're correct) is that the Leopard seems to have the same motors, controllers as the Gallop but in s smaller/lighter chassis and with a smaller battery. If correct, I think this is a really cool concept, offering the same basic performance but in a lighter option. For those who need the range, the sacrifice is a heavier, larger battery model but it gives the buyer the choice. In any case, we don't see many 40pmh scooters in this weight class. I can only think of the Solar EQ and that's a really dated design and more expensive. This Leopard Pro looks really nice for the money. Hopefully is passes the Tom's Gadget Garage "certification." :D
Yah what I’ve noticed on their site is that the new Gallop is slightly heavier, has more ground clearance, a narrower deck, and ambient lighting. I definitely agree it’s nice to have choice. I took the DT1 Pro out for another ride this evening. I feel like it’s got solid acceleration throughout its power range. Even at 32-35mph, when you go full throttle, it still pulls strong. I’m going to test it out vs the original Gallop this weekend. Somehow it feels faster.
It's literally the same as the kukurin g2 master but with a smaller battery and cheaper design and the new gallop is the same as the master but with a vsett screen and hydraulic breaks the screen alone put them 300$ in the hole I wouls be worry about where they cut cost
@@Thatguy-dn8vf I'm comparing options... g2 master vs. dt1. which is like the g2 master? the dt1 has hydraulic disc brakes, easier to use latch, dual charge ports, nfc locking, finger throttle, color screen vs. the g2 master.
@@scottp4062 you can buy a hydraulic kit, those latches have broken on 20 miles a hour scooters while riding so why would anyone want one ,on a 40 mile a hour one? A finger throttle you can end up busting your hand if anything happens and on 10 inch turns it will happen , the gallop or the kukurin g3 pro has a key and dual ports. There really isn't much pros and what it don't have you can buy and still cost you less
So I don’t have any experience with the iX7 Pro, but what stands out is the voltage at 48v vs. the DT1 Pro’s 52v system. More voltage translates into higher speed, more torque, and better hill climb ability, all else being equal. It also has a smaller battery at 748Wh of capacity vs the DT1’s 946Wh. DT1 Pro also has hydraulic brakes vs iX7 Pro’s manual brakes. With all that said, it is a few hundred dollars cheaper, but I personally haven’t heard much about this brand.
Thank you! So the Gallop SR1 has 1.1” more ground clearance, a narrower deck, 2.6Ah larger battery, and it’s slightly heavier. Looks like they did away with the yellow accent pieces on it as well.
It's way bigger than the G2 master. Has 7.1 inch wide deck. And Ausom DT1. Has 9.1 inch deck. And way longer deck. The DT1. Is same scooter as the Apollo ghost.
This has a handling and speed advantage over Punk Rider Pro. Both weigh approximately the same. Punk Rider Pro does have the ambient lighting and a louder horn. But honestly this is built for riding on and off the beat path given its more robust suspension.
@@tomsgadgetgarageI mean I have the kukurin g2 master and the motor shatter with a smaller pothole which is literally the same thing actually but this has hydraulic breaks and the vsett NFC. So I’ve never heard of Foholo before but those specs look similar to what I’ve seen from similar brands on Amazon. I always question the 5,600 watts and 50mph at that price point. There’s also some sheet metal looking construction on there supporting the front suspension. But again, no experience with that brand. There is some overlap between Ausom and Kukirin as they both use the same base platform for some of their scooter models (original Gallop/Leopard). As for the G4, I’ve never tested that scooter so there’s not a whole lot I can say. My only concern is the stem. Appears to be two pieces of metal supported by joiners. Not sure if it’s prone to twisting or not. I personally prefer a more tubular stem. Ausom did reach out and said they fixed the promo code. If you go the Ausom route, should be good to go. Thanks again for letting me know it wasn’t working 😎.
