It was a very pleasant day, Dewey, although the breeze could have been better. But any day that we can fly kites is a good one.
What I wouldn't give to pace up and down that beach while Jim and friends fly their kites.

Beautiful kites in the video today, Jim. I especially enjoyed the brilliant colors in the double conyne and the snake looks realistic as it has the serpentine motion in the wind. We're just losing our snow in Northern Minnesota so the video is especially appreciated. :)

Yes, we are having a few good days, maybe more than in the summer. I hope to get a lot more flying opportunities before winter arrives.
I’m glad you are enjoying Autumn! Beautiful blue sky for your stunning kites, despite the light and unsteady wind. I so appreciate that you share these beautiful and cheerful videos with us - they lift my spirits and help me hang in there until I fly again. It is 13 degrees Fahrenheit here and snowing! Unfortunately, I have not been brave enough yet to accept Michael K Sherman’s offer to go fly kites in the winter in Wisconsin. Maybe someday!!! 😊
That sounds much too cold for me, Mary, and I don't think I'd want to even be outside, and certainly not flying kites. I hope you are keeping warm and that spring arrives soon for your part of the world.
@@JimNicholls Thank you Jim - me too!!! If you want to vicariously experience cold winter kite flying though, search Color the Wind Kite Festival on TH-cam. It is huge - and held on a frozen lake in Iowa. Michael K Sherman went and made a great video of the 2023 Festival! (Thank you Michael!!!)
That was a nice show of kites. Two Stratospheres is not a common sight and looked impressive.
It's an attractive kite, Carl, but I prefer the Mayan DDC, of which I also have two as you know. The Stratosphere is more affordable, or was when it was available.
Nice video and great kites. We want buy a Manta ray. Thank you for sharing.
The Manta by Andreas Fischbacher is the best one, but unfortunately it's also the most expensive.
I've been looking for a Stratosphere for awhile, hoping ITW gets them in stock this spring.
It's possible, as ITW have been trying to bring back into production a lot of their designs after losing the factory in China that they'd always used a few years ago. There will definitely be some more items re-introduced this year, but I don't know if the Stratosphere will be among them.
Nice kites Jim, think I may have acquired a stratosphere in our gifted collection weather has been too poor to fly though
We're not getting many good days here, Colin - quite a poor autumn so far to follow a very poor summer. The Stratosphere is a good-looking kite, but not as stable as its makers claim unless conditions are just right.
Hey Jim! This is John from NC. I have been at the beach lately, so I’ve been doing some kite flying. I can’t get into my other channel, JP’s world so I’m using my Halloween channel. The wind has been a lot worse this year than in past years unfortunately. My ITW DCs have been great for the unsteady wind though! I haven’t been able to get my hands on a Stratosphere yet. Hoping it comes back into production at some point. Good luck with the wind in NZ!
Good to hear from you, John. The weather seems to have got worse everywhere, including here, where we've done far less flying in the last year or so than we used to. ITW have managed to get a few of their kites back into production, but it seems a slow process and I don't know if the Stratosphere will eventually return or not. Have fun!

No, I've never tried. I'm not sure how that would be done, but it would look good if it worked.

Yes, I thought that was funny, Monika, but you're the first to comment on it. I'm not sure if I'll reach the 2,000 videos as I've slowed down a lot now. If I do get there, I'll try to do something a little special. I did put on a big effort for my 1,000th: th-cam.com/video/xZ5_UQmM_q8/w-d-xo.html . I did that all myself, but I'd try to get some help next time for sure.

You put so much work in your videos! I hope you know that many people appreciate it very much.
Your number 1000 is very nice and looks like a lot of work.
I find that flying kites is more enjoyable together with friends. Maybe you shouldn't try to put up a special display this time but invite family and friends over to fly your favorite kites for YOU.
In any case, make it an enjoyable milestone for yourself!
