Matt I’ve been using this technique in my coaching since watching your video on turning the barrel and not pushing the bat. My kids are losing there mind on how effective it is. I’ve changed my entire approach toward hitting. I’ve even by using this approach taught kids to hit lefty. They are identifying bad swings on there own now. Thank you so much. I only say 3 things now to them . Load- aim- backswing..
What are your thoughts on starting the barrel back. Almost laying it flat right from set up. I did it late in my HS career. Looked unorthodox, but i always felt like i was on plain every swing. Basically your elbow just starts tucked. You still push or walk away from your hands during the load and stride, so i didnt feel like i was losing power. Just curious if you have insight into why all hitter start there swing with a bat up start
You're one of very few teaching this. So many instructors just have no idea this even happens in the swing because they're still teaching "knob to the ball", "throw the hands" and other horrible cues that actually PREVENT the barrel from turning. This move is vital! Tip of the cap to you for stressing it.
This is now how my son (13) is learning to hit, it has made a huge change in his power and contact but my son's hitting coach is fighting an up hill battle in the area as others don't feel this is correct way to teach kids to the hit ball.
Can you make a video on what happens when you get traded or go to a new team in the middle of the season? Also if you don't like the first option, Can you make a video on your personal bad experiences with teammates, managers, owners, GM's, etc. (You don't have to name names) -Thanks!
Do you have video of him in high school and/or his first pro career before he went to Rancho? I wonder if this is responsible for the power jump he got after going to Rancho (1 HR in his senior year of high school vs. 30 HR in Rancho).
DA. I watch a ton of his videos and I believe its not so much the top hand turning palm up as it is the rear elbow working underneath. as the rear elbow works underneath then the top hard turns up but i believe he would say the rear elbow initiates the move
Hey Matt! I recently watched you're creating exposure video from a few days back and I was wondering when I should make a recruitment video. I am currently going into sophomore year which I think is too young to make a video. So I have a question. Should I make a recruiting video Junior year or Senior year? Thanks for the videos!
James Wyman scap load and forward shoulder rotation. Create depth with bat and get on plane early (slight uppercut). There should be a triangle formed between hands and shoulder and that triangle should be rotated around the body

Thanks for making this video. I worked on this while doing tee work before my game and this helped me big time with my hit last night.
Great!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I agree with this 100% it's not taught enough, great video

Thanks for the Vid
Saw this during the game yesterday. Was wondering if you would do a video about it. Great example of turning the barrel or flattening the bat.
Hey Matt, can you make a video on how nice the locker rooms and clubhouse was. Thx for the videos

Any videos or tips on how to throw farther and harder?
Hey Matt I love your videos and I was wondering if you could do a video on what we can learn from Jose altuve
Is this an exercise of the top hand turning up?

Hey matt, I run cross country every year for my school and I hear that long distance running is bad for baseball players. Is this true?
Matt this is "DEEP PRACTICE"

It’s never to early to make a recruiting video.
You may not get any contact due to NCAA rules but it's never too early to get your name out there.
Can't overlook Chris Taylor he turns the barrel literally right before closing his front foot from his open stance... it changed his career
Thanks!! Thanks for watching!!
Antonelli Baseball thanks for all the insight, love the vids!!
Please make a video explaining this
EERF Kenny he's got one. It's called "turn the barrel vs. push the barrel" very informative and easy to understand
BaseballKidd15 thanks!
How do you "turn the barrel" I hear about it but never see what to do

Can you please get a better mic? It would improve these kinds of video tremendously.
Whats wrong with the camera angle? Is that supposed to happen... I can only see his back
Amoghplays he's in the dugout
No one in my boys little league knows this
