Ive been on the Cody Bellinger bandwagon since rumors the Cubs were looking to sign him. I got nothing but love and admiration for Belli. It was a serious bummer when they announced it was only a 1 year deal...hoping like crazy we can land him again for a few more years 🤞🤞🤞
No team would of taken him for multiple years since he was struggling. 1 year deal was perfect, he makes a great comeback and he’ll get big bag multi year contract
with a swing and stance that unique, there’s a fine line between being locked in with your mechanics and falling off the rails. lots of moving parts. bryce harper went through this a lot earlier in his career, gotta simplify it
Saw an at bat by him the other day with two strikes, pitch outside and he doesn't try to do anything with it just fouls it off. Next pitch still outside but a little more in and he bloops it into left for a hit. Actually so minute but just shows the strides that he is making this year, but the Cubs as a whole are some of the most disciplined hitters in baseball this year and you can really feel it when you watch them.
So very happy for Cody. I had some twitter wars being a loyal Belli fan and having to remind them that he would come through in postseason when we needed him and he often did.
I'm a huge dodger fan,I'm glad bellinger is doing better. With that said he needed a fresh start with another team. He was given 2yrs after a injury riddle season to get on track and could not it was best for him and the dodgers to part ways
Great breakdown guys!!! If you play ball b4 you’d know exactly what they’re referring to with the front side flying open to early. Kids pls listen to this guys specially this video bc they were right in the money …
The strikeout % suggests whats happening right now is an anomaly. And we're only 20 games into the season. You can find good 20 game stretches in even his worst years. This story shouldn't be done after 20 games, they should be waiting until mid-season at the least. But, they wouldnt be media if they didn't jump the gun in the need of things to talk about, so here we are.
Don't know what deal the Jay's gave Belt, but Bellinger will be a free agent again after the end of the season. So the opportunity to land him isn't far off. Plus, if Belli does have a good year, it won't be such a gamble signing as it was for us. You'll have a little more reinsurance that he'll be a quality player again...just be willing to fork out some serious $$$
@@TaterChip91 jays won’t be big game hunting with Bo and Vlad becoming FA’s soon. Belt got 1 year for 8 million. The jays were hoping Belt would bounce back, just like the cubs did with Belli.
His swing is the exact same. His approach has changed. The drop in hard hit rate is proof. Shortening up. Only mechanical change might be less head movement in his load/foot stride. But the major change is his approach. Good job filling 5 mins of airtime though
His swing is the same as 2020 and before, but the last 2 years injuries had the rytham, and mechanics all out of wack he said he felt great physicality going into this season, and you could see it, his hip is staying more glued to him which in terms means his head is staying still more which allows him to see better, and you are right when it comes to 2 strike approach he is chocking up a little
It was the dodgers hitting coach that broke him after his mvp season, he wins the mvp and they changed his swing, a couple times matter fact, guess if it aint broke dont fix didnt apply to cody after that mvp season lol.

Cool to see him hitting as well as he has to start the season. Hope he keeps it up this season 👍

I love DeRo. He’s always giving my Cubbies a fair shake
He had to get away from that kush in so cal lol was messing with his vision at the plate 😂
Now he's smoking baseballs.
I think he’s smoking more now that’s all ,the balls moves slower
Corny
Illinois ain’t where to go if you wanna get away from the kush
I think Bellinger should close his stack a little bit because he pulls it open as he swings. This would add more torque power and control in the zone.
he's in sync with hands and hips rn its awesome to see
I hope the cubs can keep him beyond this season I love his energy

6:52 yooo what did he just say???
Dero giving Nico love makes my day
Time will tell. He is super streaky.
I'm a big fan of Bopper! Wish him success
Belli is backkkk

Correct. The advanced metrics don't favor a return to elite status right now
Go Bellinger!
I wanted him on the Jays so bad, good thing we have Brandon Belt instead :(
Kiermaier is solid also. If the Cubs didn't get Bellinger, I was hoping for Kiermaier.

His head is not moving as much once the pitch is thrown. Looks like he's keeping the shoulder in longer as well.
Go Cubs!
It’s The Jersey

Back to mvp form
I still think his stance is too upright, but I'm also not a pro or a batting coach. As long as he keeps hitting, stick with what works I guess

Lauren asked y’all a question and you didn’t answer yes or no 😅
Looks like carpenter
I bet the Dodger fans can’t stand to see this. I bet it hurts. That was their MVP, they developed him. Now they have Heyward lol. Ouch!
Went to a place without legal weed…?
Yes his swing is broken…hopefully he fixes it soon.
his swing still looks unconventional
Sean Casey being a mic hog
A to B, down and finish high? Hogwash! Ferris wheel? Gtfoh
His swing looks exactly the same lol.
It can look the same to the naked eye so long as the results got clothes on 😅
@@patrickgoodman4576 yeah no doubt, I'm sure he's changed some things. It just looks like he still opens up the same way.
no his mechanics are a lot better, his swing looks a lot smoother. he also looks way more relaxed at the plate
his timing is so much. better
Yeah it does but the hip doesn't go out so early as before. But I think just going to a new team did wonders for him.
yo mlb network, their chemistry is not it.
Bellinger stole signs
Same exact swing as last year.😂😂😂😂
