Yeah, the moons per kingdom don’t change, just where they are (aside from multi moons, which may increase or decrease the total moon count from a kingdom)
22 seconds of a difference between two 8-hour runs does sound rather amazing... but I'm pretty sure it's only worth comparing the last half-hour after they escaped lost with the 22 seconds since chat made them do that at the same time.

Your comment makes it sound like it's the first time you've heard of one, which could be the case, but yeah these are nowhere near a new concept. It's new for Odyssey though. Really fresh and cool seeing an Odyssey randomizer. I hope cjya and smallant continue to do them. And hopefully the randomizer gets improved so that there are less softlocks and crashes, even though that seems to be what caused this particular race to be so close and entertaining.

I like it that you showed the run even though you lost so you can't just figure out who won based on which channel the video appeared on. And it was down to the wire as well!
This came up on my recommended again, and I was going to just watch for a bit, but I ended up watching all the way through for the third time. This is just a really good video.
Now that I think about it, with a bit of fine-tuning, this mod could probably be turned into a fun little arcade game, ala the Mega Play versions of Sonic 1 and 2.

That actually can’t happen. Since there are only 31 cap moons in the base game, that’s how many cap moons can be obtained through the randomizer
