It certainly appears to be working for you very well and that's some excellent control with F.A Off👌 . I remember when Thrustmaster decided to launch a Hotas for the Xbox especially for Elite and the group I was playing scoffed and took the p155 at the time, as it was such a bizzare concept to them, being used to only gamepads. But why not use your sticks Analogue Hat ?
I could, but I don't own that hardware. This solution was born out of necessity after I injured my shoulder and had to have my left arm in a sling. I liked it better than using the throttle I had at the time, so I stuck with it.

I swapped the analog stick out for a hat switch. My right thumb is a bit too busy working pips and stuff anyway.
