    Exteriors :
    Ciaz RS or the Restless Spirit is bit too loud. This variant comes with body kit that includes front and rear bumper spoilers, side skirts and a trunk spoiler making it a sportier version of the regular Ciaz.
    The first thing to catch your eyes are elegant multi-grille stripes in the front that is almost the same as shown during the concept model at the Auto Expo 2014. There are big headlamps on either side of the vehicle that features projector headlamps. The Ciaz also carries a lot of angled shapes on the bumper to add aggressive touch to the vehicle. The fog lamps are situated on either side of the front with round headlamps but big rectangular foglamp housing. The car bears an aerodynamic shape and looks very sporty from the side.
    The top-variant of the Ciaz carries stylish spoke-type 16-inch alloy wheels which increases the sportiness of the vehicle by folds.
    Now the RS version comes with a big spoiler on the trunk, which does seem overdone for a car like Ciaz but it does grow on you. Also, the under bumper spoiler in the RS version makes the car look very good. The split tail-lamps with chrome garnish on it keeps the rear busy and adds sporty touch to the overall elegant design.
    Interior:
    Now the all-black interior that you see here is only available with the RS version of the car. The other versions have a combination of beige and black. Ciaz has got all the bells and whistles required for a sedan from this segment. There is Apple CarPlay powered infotainment system that can project your iPhone screen to the car’s 7-inch display. Music can also be played from Bluetooth, USB and Aux-input. The system also has navigation feature and doubles up as a screen for rear camera.
    Just below the infotainment system, the controls for AC is situated. The AC has its own independent display between the controls and shows the temperature, fan speed and the AC mode. The AC is very effective and the rear passengers also get a vent for better cooling.
    The seats are also wrapped in black leather, and driver seat is manually adjustable for height, slope and space.
    The steering is nice to hold and has buttons for controlling the infotainment system and Bluetooth phone.
    The twin pot driver console has blue backlit and looks very good. The LCD screen projects outside temperature, odometer, trip metres and most importantly the gear you are in. The display also shows average fuel efficiency and instant fuel efficiency.
    The Ciaz is one of the most spacious cars in the price segment and further there are a lot of places to keep your small items. There are two cupholders in the centre while there is an under arm-rest compartment too. All the doors have space for big bottles too. Also, the cabin is well sealed
    The boot of the Ciaz is huge, it has a capacity of 510 litres and can take up the weekend luggage of a whole family with ease.
    Maruti has also taken care of the safety of the vehicle very well. The car now comes with driver-side airbag throughout all the variants while ABS is standard across the range except the base variant. The top-variant also gets co-driver airbag.
    Drive:
    The Ciaz mild hybrid or the Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki is only available with the diesel engine for the time being. The 1.3-litre diesel engine churns out a maximum of 90 PS at 4,000 rpm along with 200 Nm of maximum torque that maximizes at a low engine speed of only 1,750 rpm. Ciaz was the first vehicle from Maruti to get the mild-hybrid system that also earned the car government incentives that lowered the price of the vehicle. The system can help the engine to start during start/stop traffic and also assists the engine during acceleration which increases the economy of the Ciaz. At a certified economy of 28.09 km to a litre, this is the most efficient car in the country and in real world conditions we have been getting over 180-0 kmpl for the past 3 months.
    Ciaz is a family car - don’t expect it to excite enthusiasts. The suspensions is terrific for city road conditions and absorbs potholes with ease. Only problem with the RS version of the car is the ground clearance, it is very low and you will find the bumpers kissing mother earth quite often. Rear seat ride quality is also excellent and Ciaz can be a good choice for people who do like to sit in the rear and relax expect for the limited headroom.
    The steering is not so sharp, but, it's light enough to drive around city with ease. It does weigh
    up as the car gains speed and gives a lot of confidence to the driver during highway cruises. Taking U-turns can be a problem as the turning radius is not very good.The arm-rest cannot be adjusted but you get used to it. The shift quality of the 5-speed gearbox is best termed as average - it takes some effort slot it into gears especially into reverse. But the adjustable steering wheel and driver seat helps you to get the perfect driving position.

    even the petrol ciaz is very good. I personally have driven at speed of 140 kmph with well balance. It gives confidence at higher speeds. After driving 2800kms ciaz petrol gives 14.1 kmpl of mileage at average. And it was driven so rough still it is very good. Value for money car.

    • @cardekho
      @cardekho  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both cars belong to different segments and hence cannot be compared. Ciaz is a sedan and has got quite a lot of comfort features which include automatic transmission(Petrol), Rear AC vents , Smart Access card entry etc. S-cross has got immense power and torque as compared to Ciaz. It also has got cruise control which is not available in Ciaz. If you go off roads then you should go for S-cross and if you have to drive a lot then you should go for Ciaz. • @cardekho
      @cardekho  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both of them belong to different segments and hence cannot be compared. Baleno locks horns with the likes of Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz, you can go for those too. Ciaz on the other hand is a premium sedan which means you get a lot of space and a bucket full of comfort features but it would be a bit of a problem to manuever in traffic with it due to it length.

      Thank you Vishal. Talking about the choice of fuel type, it depends on how much you drive, if you drive for more than 1500 kms in a month then you should go for Diesel otherwise petrol is a better option.

    what should i buy. hyundai verna. maruti ciaz.

    • @cardekho
      @cardekho  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Verna is more powerful and Ciaz is more fuel efficient. You are getting features like Rear A/C Vents, Navigation System, Smart Access Card Entry, Engine Start/Stop Button, Voice Control and Fog Lights (Front) in the top end diesel variant of Ciaz. These features are not available in Verna if we compare a variant of the same price. If you go for the top end variant of Verna, it will be a great choice as it will have a lot to offer you with better power. But, if you are looking for something in 11-11.5 lakhs, Ciaz would be the best buy. Rest, a test drive is must to decide which one suits you. • @BunnyPuniaVideos
      @BunnyPuniaVideos 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sunil phadtare : Ground Clearance is an issue with the RS version due to the body kit - you will have to be careful over speed breakers or ramps while going into, or exiting a parking.

    • @BunnyPuniaVideos
      @BunnyPuniaVideos 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Saurabh Chougule : no, lot of differences. The Maruti system stores energy during normal driving / braking and uses the motor to assist the engine during acceleration, thereby reducing load on the engine and hence in turn increasing fuel economy.

    missed features when compared to brezza. wish a facelifted ciaz is launched during Diwali.. 1. led drl. 2. cruise control 3. bigger fuel tank 50L, 3. cooled glove box, 4. voice command . with recent drop in prices due to lower tax for hybrid vehicles, maruti can add these features and retain the price without price reduction..
    wish there was black interiors without RS body KIT..

    Which should I buy ciaz or xuv

    • @cardekho
      @cardekho  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both cars belong to different segments, Ciaz is a sedan that means it is good for long drives and will provide you with great comfort. XUV is a SUV and hence is good to go off roads. XUV has got massive power and less fuel efficiency but is nice to drive and has a lot of features to offer you. Ciaz on the other hand is fuel efficient and has got less power, it has got ample of space but it is not made to go off roads like the XUV.
      If you want a car to drive in city and you do not go off roads, go for Ciaz and if you go off roads also you should go for XUV.

      +Rishabh kumar Hi Rishabh! The Ciaz is a certainly a more value for money option. Variant per variant, the Ciaz is cheaper than the City and the after sales experience of Maruti is better too. However, the City is more powerful and the over package in terms of materials, fit & finish is upmarket. If you can live with the lower power go for the Ciaz but if you are ready to invest a little more money, the City is fun to drive.
