The look and the colors are so pretty, I agree! If you're not into competitive gaming or osu mania, it can be OK (it performs like a standard, membrane keyboard), but yeah... it might be safer to go with another choice if latency is a concern!
Good video! I just ordered my Lucky65 from AliExoress today, also in black. I´m planing to do a foam-less build, I´m going for clacky sound profile. I can´t wait to get it and add it to my collection!
Thank you! ^^ I hope your order arrives soon! The clacky version sounds promising, I'll also give it a try (probably switch to HMX switches with that)!
I totally did not realize you had a 7% discount code for the KTT Coconut Latte switches! I might order more because I am loving them so much right now on my Luminkey 65 + Copper weight. It creates such as nice poppy sound signature and it gives me a silent thud sound signature as well due to the copper weight. The smoothness of these switches feel so nice and smooth like a waterslide. It's so fun to type on! Where do you find these switches! By the way! I ordered the same setup as you for the Lucky75 (black). Thanks for sharing your joy for keyboards!
Oh, yeah, with the extra discounts this budget switch is just unbeatable! I'm happy to hear you'll give this keyboard a go - although I assume, not using the same 'eccentric' keycaps. :D Do you have a keycap set in your mind for this build? :)
@@thoccnology I'm actually using the Lucky65 right now. I am super surprised that it came with 2 Coconut Latte switches already on the caps lock and the enter key. I'm waiting for the Cool Kids Keycap Set V2 to come in!
Dang the latency is really unfortunate. The aesthetic of the shape and no knob is so nice tho... it really looks like something that would have cost far more.
This amount of latency is not visible yet, but it unfortunately adds extra millisecs to the overall latency - I'd say it'll be just around the same performance if you'd play with a standard, non-mechanical keyboard.
@@Skio928 This latency is not bad, but there are man better ones. I guess you're measuring with a software, which measures the time spent after the signal has been sent from the keyboard. On the other hand, I measure the latency of the whole keyboard, from keypress (from your fingers, including the switch characteristics too) to the processed signal (where the character starts moving).
its sound profile leans towards the clackier side, while the hi75 has the signature thock (my favorite is the Hi75, as it has F-row and volume knob too, also because I prefer thocky)
@@thoccnology i would pick the lucky65 but i just don't know if the latency is good enough. i know the hi75 has a very good latency but idk if the lucky65 would hinder me when im gaming for instance. but im not hardcore gamer nowadays.
@@aliffimran2073 It's hard to compare the latency difference, but maybe it's the easier to imagine this way: it performs like a standard, membrane keyboard from a couple of years ago - or like having a non-high-end PC for gaming, or an older monitor. Pursuing the latency matters the most for competitive gaming, if someone wants to squeeze out the last possible millisecs. It won't be terrible or noticeable by naked eye, but yeah, selecting a good-latency keyboard can mean such an upgrade as upgrading your PC to a better one.
Mmm yes fellow re zero enjoyer. Just binged the entire anime a few weeks ago, first time viewing and fell in love, the first episode was never a good hook for me because it felt like a chore to watch, tried a few times in the past to watch the anime but I just couldn't finish the first episode. But then I did this time and oh wow. And thinking about it I did the same with steins gate, teied to watch it around 2017 to 2018 when I got into anime, couldn't get past the first episode, tried again a few times and finally got through it in 2021 I think.
Well said! Sometimes it's so damn hard to get through the first couple of episodes, right!? But luckily, in some animes it's worth the initial struggle - lucky for us, it was the case with the Re:Zero too! ^-^
I was really hoping you'd get one of these to review! I ordered the violet one from velocifire because the ones on AliExpress have a totally different purple. Keybored reviewed that color and I've been looking for a blue-purple forever! It's so hard to find cool-toned purples. 😢I'm also sad that the latency is so low! I was hoping I could use it for gaming. I will have to see what else I have that might be better. I prefer 65% alu for gaming and I just ordered some Gateron Smoothies in silver! Do you have any recommendations? :)
Yes, interesting colors are a scarce, sadly! I'm missing anodized blues, purples, and any kind of yellow! I'm a sucker for nice colors. If you're not into super competitive gaming or osu mania, this 20-ish latency is not terrible (it's more like what a standard, membrane keeb used to be ^^) But if you're more comfortable using a good latency keyboard, my safest and most favorite bet is the TINT60 among the 65%s (or the Monka Alice67 if you're open to arisu layouts hihi)
People say $79-80 but now it's down to $69 on Ali from multiple sellers. To think that a GAS67 @ $50 was considered a bargain only a over a year ago. I still think that not having option for screw-in stabilizers is the only miss. EDIT: It does suck that the latency excludes it as a competitive gaming board... can't have it all I guess!
I totally agree with you! The recent price drop is just mind-blowing. (And so welcomed!!) Yeah, I'm still about to find a great latency, budget, 3-mode alu 65% keyboard. The TINT60 has great latency (but it's only wired-mode), and the Monka Alice67 has an alice layout, so it's not widely popular.
Great quality video as usual! I had a random question. Is it necessary to turn the keyboard off everytime we're done using them? I'm using the Aula F75 (bought after your review), which seems to have a great standby time. Is it okay to leave the keyboard in on/standby mode all the time, or is it still better to turn it off every night?
just put it to wired mode. i have a Neo65 and I have never turned my board off since I got them. some of the budget premium boards (e.g. zoom65, etc.) have a deep sleep option by entering certain key combinations (e.g. Fn + Caps Lock).
It's OK to leave it, or as law2xoliver also suggested to switch back to wired mode (which means/equals to switching it OFF on certain keyboards). I have a keyboard that shows the battery percentage precisely and if I keep it ON, it drains the battery very slowly (like 1% in every 1-2 days). What bugs me is the times when I want to move the keyboard and I accidentally press a key and it glows up/keeps searching for the computer/drains the battery even more/etc.
With these key combinations the keyboard is never fully switched off (it still searches for future keypresses - when you want to switch it back), that's why I prefer a physical switch.
I love the 4 leaf clover detail, super cute ^^ I did not expect a creamy poppy sound profile from this keyboard but i actually really liked it :D Great video like always ❤
