I think it’s a if words could cut situation. It’s probably annoying the game is designed in such a way it requires like an hour of articulation and head scratching from players to describe what’s off. I’d grab my mic too.
shame considering he has what 3 young kids and the first thing he wants to do is fucking sit at his PC all while his kids grow up while he hides away in his man-shack
Why do all of you retail Andy's think in such zero-sum terms? It's not mutually exclusive, you can dislike several aspects of the newer philosophy while appreciating older aspects but wanting them to be implemented in an improved and thus newer, more modernized way. A third philosophy, basically, which builds upon the best aspects of old yet makes them better, and doesn't get stuck in the absolutism of classic-Andy thinking... but everyone in this divided community thinks in overly zealous ways, you either have to be fully content to embrace everything modernized systems have to offer uncritically or the opposite, as if there can't be an inbetween.
it's funny because if you actually watch the video, a bunch of the things he claims to dislike were actually present in the game, just maybe in a different format. like complaining about pvp gear being "better" than pve gear. bruh it's been true since TBC with resilience and pvp power and whatnot.
@@86Corvus If the LFG system was still here, the game would be in an even worse state. Do you think players nowaday would not want an LFG system? Would be too much for new players, it's good they're bringing in new systems to help newer players, make the game feel more welcoming.
@@86Corvus Don't like the game anymore, simple. They brought Classic servers for that very reason, go enjoy that instead of bashing retail that's finally going in the right direction.
Agree. Cunts don't even include the free month in the heroic version, only in the epic version. Why would I pay £80 for early access...so dumb. Same content, people are locked out of content anyway. I was thinking of playing but with all this stupidity I didn't even bother.
I would try some other MMO's my man. At least people talk on games like SWTOR and have communities. Not my thing but WoW is the last MMO I would play due to loneliness. You only play WoW still if you are addicted to medicore esports that failed over a decade ago lol. :) Once you break that addiction any MMO is way better for community and actually nice people. Final Fantasy I hear is very nice for that.
WoW is like the loneliest game at this point. if you want to make friends in games try something like Squad or Star Citizen or Mount & Blade, games with actual communities
The take on PvP gear is absolutely dog water. You don't just go farm a raid every week to get a trinket anymore. There's Mythic raiding and M+ and difficulties that are far beyond "Oh just jump in a group every week an get cool gear" Trying to mix PvE and PvP gear is literally what everyone has wanted to get away from since the game's came out. But he wants it to be back so he can get into free group runs, get cool gear, and shit on people? That's fucking stupid. I think PvP gearing is in one of the best positions its ever been in and people are actually equal and it's more about skill than gearing....and he wants it to be about him being able to get hard to get PvE gear and shit on people. It's not just templates because you can craft PvP gear that you like with specific stats you want. He probably never played when the game had ACTUAL stat templates and PvP gearing was 100% irrelevant, THAT was dog shit. How it is now is far from that and a lot better.
WoW is an MMORPG, and a core gameplay loop of an MMORPG is to gear up. In my opinion, WoW, both in PVE AND PVP should be designed as an MMORPG, not a MOBA, or a competitive ARENA, or a LOBBY Dungeoin spam game. Like Quinn said, if you want a competitive pvp game where every player is built equal, there are plenty of other games for that, thats not what an MMORPG is.
@@EricNong-j6e according to last year's poll there are 15% of players that their main content is competitive PvP (arena and rbg). Why would you destroy the game for them and make them quit because few boomer players complain that they cannot raid and own everyone just because they got x trinket or weapon. It's a lame reasoning. Also if I want to reverse your reasoning then if you don't like gearing in WoW go play FFXIV. There is a reason why most other MMO's copied PvP gear in their game like SWTOR etc.
Cata and Mop era was the best and most practical pvp gearing. Conquest vendor for higher tier gear and honor vendor for starter pvp gear. Top arena and rgb players got slightly enhanced, earned gear AND you had the option to maybe do some PVE and get a sick weapon or trinket to use in pvp. Satisfied everyone.
Honestly the best thing they could do is just remove all PVP gear and all PVP scaling entirely, it's just bad game design. Let people use gear they farmed from the actual game. This let's people create a much more engaging and meaningful meta that you actually have to prepare before going into PVP
I think he was referring to leveling, where you can sit anywhere and spam dungeons. Also M+ dungeon fly also feel braindead, for every point that is a bit further away they add portals. And flying miles high with dragonflying feels like teleporting anyways. Make gryphon riders and ground mounts great again
@@Jocic_ Why am I even repeating myself, M+ is an end game minigame, barely part of the game. When someone says the game sucks, M+ has nothing to do with it, be it positive or negative.
It basically comes down to Bliz wanting every class to be balanced for M+, turning mostly every class "homogenized". While saying "fuck it" to PVP balance and just inflating everyones tankiness to counteract having every class doing almost everything. They couldve chosen to balance and adjust every spec for PVP but they probably thought its too much work TLDR PVE = FUN PVP = ABSOLUTE DOGSHIT
the "homogenization" thing is a meme by people that don't actually play the game. class "identity" stops being fun the moment you're actually trying to do challenging content and get benched/gatekept.
Mythic + is the only thing that makes people stay in the game these days bro. Back in WoD there is nothing else to play - you bascailly run all M0 then Raiding for 2 days and log off. WTF was that, profession was uselss, whenever the raid were cleared all you can do is sitiing there and do nothing.
@@Dangerous1939 pretty much yes. Back in the day I can wrap up everything (pve) in 3 days and then I have no will to play agian until reset. Since Legion, my schedule is always raiding Tues/Wed then Mythic plus for the rest of the week. I have reached the top 300 world several times and that was satisfied. Back in the day wow was boring as hell when I max out ilvl for all tanks
as long as Ion is in charge then it wont change. hes a mythic+ andy and ccs/selfheals are all needed to play that mode. imo the only difficult modes should be normal and heroic (with affixes/no timer)
Dude, I've also been playing wow on and off for 20 years and couldn't really pinpoint why it's not enjoyable anymore. But you essentially verbalized my entire experience of disliking current WoW. GREAT video but a sad situation. I can only HOPE that Blizzard sees this and changes it however wildly unlikely that is.
1 - early access : sucks but u weren't scammed they were clear that virtually everything would be gated 2 - Overworld : Zones are now designed around flying so that you can enjoy them & interact with them while flying 3 - World PVP : If you play for little less than a week you'd find the world pvp hotspots & that u can dismount people in the air by flying through them .. There's even gear & rewards specifically for WPVP if that's all u wanna do 4 - Dungeon queues : you don't actually queue for M+ dungeons or raids , which is the vast majority of end game , you have to actually fly there & the entrances of those instances are always packed .. 5 - War mode : his opinion on warmode is so binary , he wants to be able to grief people or not have the option to at all. Warmode provides the best of both worlds & isn't overly conscriptive , how many people roll on a pvp server or a pve server in vanilla without a clue of the implications. 6 - class design : this is just a classic andy giving his 0 insight take on retail design by comparing it to vanilla design when the 2 games are night & day , if only 2 classes could AoE guess which classes would have 100% of the invites in M+ & guess which won't , this goes for everything. Class fantasy & class design are not the same thing , class fantasy nowadays is at its peak with demo warlocks being able to summon pit lords & the legion itself , unholy DKs lead an army of the dead , shamans shit thunder out of their ass & on & on & on. Dps can't heal , they can press defensive CDs , a ret paladin for example can only fart 5 sloppy flash heals before going oom. a mage doesn't heal , he pre-alters to go back in time. What Quin doesn't understand is Nuance , every class works differently in the end game & every class provides different their own flavor of DPS & utility ... While retaining their own identity , something Classic couldn't have done because the game was in its infancy so it resorted to the extremely binary class design of lol this class has AoE & this class doesn't , to give its classes a different feel in gameplay , Retail doesn't need to do that anymore because it's been 20 years in development. PVP gear scaling : I don't even understand his point here , PvP to be fulfilling in literally any game needs to be set in skill & not some arbitrary number , that is why pvp gear is so equalized so the amount of numbers you have in game edoesn't dictate who wins , skill does. That is why PVP gear is so accessible , so u don't have to waste ur time just so u can have a fair chance. PVE & PVP gear being completely separated is a blessing because not only do u not have to choose one over the other anymore , you also aren't forced to do something you don't want to do in A Videogame. WoW Tokens : They Suck but I would argue are absolutely Irrelevant , I have played the entirety of Dragonflight without once farming gold or buying a token & i've never once felt the need to do so while playing every class in the game & also bought a shitton of BOE transmog from the AH. If you just play the game , you'll never have to buy gold. Also Thor (PirateSoftware) who worked at blizzard has stated multiple times that the token's real intent was to eliminate the ungodly number of people that were having their accounts stolen from 3rd party gold sellers which were rampant & it succeeded in doing so Cosmetics : this is pure brain rot , there's literally over a thousand sets in the game from every corner of content , and since dragonflight in-game cosmetics have reached a new high in both quality & quantity , to claim that 1% devalues the 99% of unique cosmetics you can earn in game is just brain rot , don't get me wrong , I wish that 1% didn't exist , but I also can't pretend that the trading post which has added So Many unique good cosmetics just for playing the game doesn't exist , and as someone who's from a 3rd world country i'm also very grateful that the sub fee hasn't changed in 20years from 15 dollars , not even to mention that even the relatively few store cosmetics/mounts rotate on the trading post. Levelling : it shouldn't be piss easy , challenge = fulfilling gameplay , they seem to have hotfixed the levelling scaling aas of the latest patch hope it does something , but the levelling system in retail needs to be re-imagined as it's arguably its biggest weakness , something in the works has been hinted in TWW interviews for a future expansion. Claiming that you love WoW & refusing to see any good in it is very disingenuous , therefore I deem this whole video : Ragebait farming.
extremely well fckin said m8. a lot of his takes just comes from the point of lacking understanding about how the game actually plays out at during end game content. or just him wanting to shit stomp undergeared players lol

Tldw: quinn hates wow but adores his fantasized version of wow. Wants BFA style pvp back with reintroduction of pve trinkets in pvp. (Thinks it’ll be like wotlk and not the tank trinket meta that we had.) Wants flying mounts to be unavailable to players in new zones for pvp reasons and doesn’t want it to be point A to point B. Apparently didn’t experience the “no flying mounts” infinite player farm where level 80s were ganking level 70s off the beach because they weren’t able to fly away. (Doesn’t understand it offers players an out to not engage with pvp and also doesn’t realize that with flying or ground it’s still point A to point B). Wants players to travel to the dungeon and not queue for them. (Failed to realize that mythic plus is that very system he envisions with the possibility of removing level 20 dungeon teleports). Wants classes to be more niche and less homogenized. (Has failed to recognize that several specializations will have the tool necessary for certain mechanics but isn’t limited to just 1 spec. Think of kil jaedon fight stacking classes with immunities on last fight for soaks and everyone else benched - essentially that but thinking it would be good game design.) Wants some classes to be unviable for mythic plus. (Generally speaking just a net negative to the game). Wants limited to no aoe and wants single target to be dominate for damage dealing. Also wants players to die within a kidney shot. (Essentially wants legion pvp back where you press your cds and players are 1 shot within 4 seconds of the start of arena. At least with how he describes the pacing of pvp he wants would be the closest thing we’ve had). Wants season 1 of shadowlands for pvp and pve players. ( the involvement of pve players in pvp was pog but fails to see how cancerous farming pvp for bis items for pve sucked 🫏) Wants the removal of the wow token and gold farming to matter. (Failed to realize if he loves farming for gold he can still farm for gold. Just because he can RMT through blizzard somehow inhibits his ability or wanting to farm gold??? Unclear.) Wants leveling to improve because he’s fond of his memories of it. Old man on front lawn shaking fist vibes about level boosts. (Has failed to recognize that wow is primarily about the endgame and leveling is a slog and is just an obstacle for players. Not a meaningful obstacle.) Thinks the introduction of early access killed the hype. (He’s absolutely right on this.) Wants the change of waiting for 3 weeks to only 1 week before season launch. (Actually good take; waiting for content feels bad but pacing might feel bad for people wanting to gear and level multiple characters.) Wants pvp hotspots and wants players to request help from friends to not be corpse camped. (Has failed to realize these exist in the game with the exception of flying mounts offering an out to being corpse camped.) Wants pvp servers so players are forced to pvp (failed to realize that war mode was a compromise between people who want to pvp can with added bonuses and people who don’t can opt out. has been solved for the most part.) Most of this video can be summed up as “Quinn is bad at pvp and wants noobs to farm QQ” Good video tho even tho I disagree with almost everything you said 😂

Yea.. Chris Metzen just came back and we still got Early Access for the first time in WoW. That kind of bullshit is sadly not going away. Blizzard exploits the love and nostalgia players and devs alike have for their franchises to make their little money making machine spin, and they're gonna do whatever they can get away with to make it spin as fast as they possibly can. And the sad part is people just eat that shit up. Blizzard has basically become the Apple of video games. Completely overpriced sub-par products, with terrible customer support and anti-consumer practices, yet people still line up to not only buy everything they put out, but they go out of their way to buy all the accessories and publicly defend the company and their practices. It doesn't even matter if millions have stopped playing, because the whales just keep going and the money they milk from them with all these additional monetization means their revenue still goes up.
@@esarius Yes, that is the point - I was replying to a comment made in the video. And, in general, on the idea that even when they are announcing new exciting things with potential still the monetization is getting worse, not better.
I mean yes, but also no. I look at it like, if we have early access with a large game, that'll have a HUGE amount of players. Early access helps throttle how many people are playing at once, and in a sense makes launch smoother. That's what I take away from early access. I'm also not an angry whine ass though.
@@xRaistxAnd yet people still experienced connection issues and lag. It's almost as if the actual reason is pure corporate greed. BfA and Shadowlands both had pretty smooth launches for the vast majority of realms. The technology is there. Stop defending the greed of multi-billion dollar companies.

@@YuYuYuna_ There is already a lot of content. You get to play through the entire campaign, do every side quest, work on getting your reputation up with every new group, clear dungeons on normal and heroic, world quests, PvP, complete achievements, collect new mounts or armor appearances, etc. The point of delaying raids and mythic+ is so people dont feel like they need to rush in and literally never let off the brakes without falling WAY behind. This way, everyone has time to level at their own pace, take time to enjoy the game, get their characters geared for season 1, and get multiple characters ready if you want to play multiple classes.
I mean they are making levelling more difficult now after this feedback and it impacted the late access guys, which actually makes the early access look worse imo

You will die in a kidney shot if you don't do anything * no flying mounts * no level boost * no cosmetic shop Maybe you should give classic era a shot. It's really great and has none of those problems you mention
he doesn't advocate for grind, he advocate for you to play the game instead of buying you way up there. I have a job, i have the monney to buy any amount of gold i want but i do not want that in a game. Its like you play golf and since you do not have much time to train as everyone else you pay for someone else to play half of the day for you. I used to see a mount and tell myself "woa that guy must have done something amazing to get that", now i just wonder how much monney he put into it.
Your points about early access and the three week delay are good. They do indeed kill the hype, WoW launches could be way more interesting without them. Everything else are just ramblings about a game who's core endgame loop you simply don't enjoy, it seems like. Your comments and ideas about class design have some merit, but your overall ideas are just weird fantasies that would put the game into a way more terrible state if implemented.
Classic wow is terrible it’s literally just who has more money to spend on gold to buy all the gear they want. At least in retail I can play the game without having to deal with that
Yes the timegating for even useless stuff is annoying. There is no info how long certain timegates are week, month, year, 10 year or what. Earthen might be timegated for 6 months. Loremaster 3 weeks who knows since the game doesn't.

I decided to quit WoW during the BFA 8.3, and even though I came back for Shadowlands, by the time Korthia was released I realized that WoW had changed from the game I used to love into something different, an overpriced, pay-to-win, mediocre live service MMORPG. It now feels more like some of those Korean MMOs out there, and that’s just not what I’m looking for.
How is it pay to win ? I play the game since vanilla, I played during bfa and I still play on tww. Sure you can spend hundreds, thousands of euros or dollar into buying gold and get carried it’s still not pay to win it’s juste cringe. You will still be bad, kicked of pugs because you suck, you can buy your R1 title in PvP, tag in an arena and all your teammates will report you because you are obviously clueless and boosted. Pay to win means advantage over other players, I don’t see how buying carries and having endgame mounts carry you. You just recite your mantra like 99% of wow haters

Thanks! I was on the fence about getting in on the expansion, but this pushed down on the NO side. The WoW token part in particular. I also loved leveling alts and making gold. Looking at the WoW token prices I could just buy 10M+ gold for what I make in a regular days work. Makes it completely pointess.
I am with you on this. I played WoW longer than any other game in my life. Yet I had no desire to buy this expansion. And my reason is simple. I'm tired of playing the same game year after year. It's time for them to take a huge chance and create a continent where player decisions are more impactful. I want our decisions to determine the direction the continent takes. Having said that, I was also turned off by the early access. I can easily afford it but chose not to reward a company taking greed to a whole new level. I'm currently playing the new GW2 expansion and enjoying it for now.
Why should they change things massively to cater to people who are bored with wow? Wow is what it is and if you’re bored of that move on. Like imagine saying CoD needs to turn into an open world RPG because you’re bored of playing a multiplayer shooter. That’s just not what that game is supposed to be
@@kye4216 Who defines what the game is supposed to be? It's obvious the game has been in decline for awhile and I don't think this expansion will make things better. I know it won't last long because GW2 has its own faults, but at least they added a housing system they plan to continue building on in future expansions. It's a start.....
I mean that is true for the majority of wow players. We are all EX wow players. We are willing to come back and check out if it gets better, as it turns out, it doesn't. The 3 months of Draenor, the 2 months of Legion and merely 3 weeks of BFA (Where I literally started to challenge myself by solo clearing mythic dungeons) are enough for me. Shadowlands, DF, TWW haven't received even a chance from me. The core gameplay issues aren't solved, the time gating is horrible. Game is perfectly tailored for 1 type of player. Either you are that, or you aren't. If you aren't, game ain't for you anymore. Good to know that a lot still have a lot of fun though, there are just way more people who don't and most don't even talk about it. We moved on.
This is the face of a guy who's ex left him 5 times and begs her to come back hoping the relationship will be different this time. WoW isn't coming back, Legion was the last good expansion they will ever release.

And speaking about the WoW token I prefer to hate my life in my office job and buy 2 tokens than hate my life in my office job, go home and continue hating my life fishing or farming npcs. Your perspective is from a guy who plays games for a living and is fine, and mine is from someone who spends 12 hours away from home stucked in an office, which is also fine. It's hard to make a game that appeals to everyone, and I think it makes more sense for them to do changes aimed at people like me than for people like you, because there are way too more regular workers than streamers and kids are not gonna play an mmorpg anymore, they have other shit to play.

The crazy thing to me about all of your complaints, with the exception of the early access thing, is that they're things the community actively fought for. People *wanted* faster leveling. They wanted not to be forced to PvP to get gear for PvE. They don't want to farm gold. They want classes to be balanced, because the endgame is what people care about. The things that made you quit are the things that make the game still worth playing, and I say that as someone who started playing in vanilla. That old way of designing games is outdated and grindy and not fun in 2024. It probably wasn't even fun in 2005; we just didn't know any better yet. These changes didn't happen in a vacuum - Blizzard responded to changes in the gaming landscape, and the game is better for it. I think you're just in denial about not being a classic andy.

@@ihavenoidea4727 They come from some has been wow pvper. These pvpers are malding because they are stuck with this trash game and their audience of 12 year olds.
bois, I have an important message for you out there like quin that has the nostalgia about wow. Modern wow ITS NOT the good ol wow of your childhood, its another game. I enjoy big parts of it and others not so much but pleeeease understand that this a modern take of it. Stop frustrating yourself or gonplay classic wow for christ sake. I think quins opinion are totally valid but comes from someone that IS NOT a wow player and it shows man, you never engaged in any meaningful endgame current wow has to offer.
Ironically, I rolled my eyes a LITTLE bit when I saw this video pop up on my feed. Unironically, I ended up agreeing with every single take. Your takes were very based and I appreciated them. I am currently knee deep in hardcore classic and enjoying the heck out if it raiding, leveling, etc. etc. Similar to you, I enjoy having my own little network of characters that provide economic stimulus to my account on that server. Now everything is homogenized, down to the auction houses and servers being less and less distinguishable as many parts of the game become more and more connected with us having less and less time as we get older with more responsibilities and families
That's crazy chat. He plays 1 class in WoW and thinks every class is homogenized, but doesn't like the procs and minute details of all the classes. Back to Jugg I guess.
he doesnt need to play all classes hello? if u play pvp u play against all classes so u know what theyr doing? u should think before u comment? and that poe comment killed me, like u killed any uber in your life w/o buying gear looool.
Compared to when WoW was originally released modern classes have all the tools for all the situations. The 'minute details' are the only thing that seperate the classes now ... 'back in the day' if you werent a healer you couldnt heal and if you werent a dps your dps was barely good enough to kill quest mobs. Its different now. Everybody gets buttons for everything.
You've done this 2 expansions in a row. Pre-season gameplay, (which isn't indicative of the entire expansion) helps you to justify complaining and having a bad time for days on end. You're putting the game on a pedestal that never existed and letting nostalgia ruin every facet of the game for you. I hope this was a good therapy session and you can finally move on.
i guarantee you he'll be back next expansion and do the exact same. not really sure how he lasted until S1 start in SL. i guess he just didn't have more stuff going on in his life back then.
Everything he said is accurate and has 0 to do with pre season, almost everything he is saying has been implemented into the game for fucking years. Don't be a bootlicker. I played wow for 15 years they killed this shit hard. First xp im not buying and it feels great.
@@dopeness5848 half of what he said is nonsense. for example, that pvp gear is a "template" (wrong, you can fully customize your gear to whatever stat you want to stack and if you're doing the hardest pve content you can use equivalent pve gear in pvp. ironically legion, one of his favorite expansions, was actually the only one with pvp templates) or that nowadays you cannot interchange pvp gear with pve gear (also wrong, pvp gear has been better for pvp since TBC when they added resilience, and it's not even true anymore because gear does not go higher or have more stats than the best pve gear). he is completely clueless about how the game works or even how the game worked back when he played and is making a bunch of assumptions based on nothing whatsoever. i will however 100% agree with his criticism of how the game is monetized. not that it's a controversial opinion.
@BattousaiHBr bro what are you smoking I played dragonflight pvp and it was terrible he's absolutely correct there is no variation in gameplay in pvp because of how they balanced the pve in this game. Your taking what he said and taking it to literally. They made pvp very cookie cutter for a long time now where if you don't follow the meta you might as well not even pvp. No way you were 2k+ in arena and having this pov lol, I didn't see one person in dragon flight without pvp armor it was everyone wearing the same shit padding the same stats playing the same skills. Just realize blizzard is nothing but a name now and they only want your money. If your still having fun great but what he said is very true. And I don't follow quin at all I just fully agree on what he doesn't like from me playing this game since tbc.
@@dopeness5848 you're talking about something completely different to what i (and quin) are talking about. if you check the video again, quin does in fact talk about gear, and specifically says there's no variation in the gear and calls it templated gear.
part of the problem with high ttk pvp is that as soon as one person dies you lose a ton of advantage; with lower ttk, you have much better chance at dealing with out-playing your enemies even at numbers disadvantage
They have to do the "early access" thing cause in the past when they did an overall launch of expansions servers always died or you had a 10 hour queue, so they basically divide the players into 2 and can handle it, just small indie company.
They don't 'HAVE' to do this, this is a copout instead of making better servers with their billions of dollars (other MMO's with playerbases that are just as large have no issue doing this by the way, so don't pretend it's impossible just for the sake of shilling for a megacorporation which doesn't even know your name).
I love when people make comments about the wow overworld. The overworld in WoW has not mattered since 2007. These are LITERAL vanilla andy comments that we've heard a million times. That the game has somehow been "made too easy" because an open world quest isn't the difficulty of an instance or raid? Then in the same breath, these same people will turn around and say "lol classic is so much easier than retail". So what is it that you want? You find classic raiding too easy, but then also hate retail despite it having what you asked for (harder raiding). And what world were yall living in where vanilla wow had a "hard open world"? It didn't. Like, at all. Same thing for flying mounts, it is such an irrational thing to complain about and reeks of the vanilla-andy "I wish we lived in a world where you could manually take 30 minutes to run to the instance instead of flying to it". Same exact thing applies to wow tokens too, something that ESPECIALLY in retail, completely is irrelevant. Gold is irrelevant in retail, what exactly do you think people are doing with wow tokens? Gathering professions are available to you to do them to this day and no one is stopping you from doing them. Gold pays for gems, enchants, and consumes. And they're more affordable today than ever, unlike in vanilla wow which you seem to worship yet had flasks that lasted two hours costing hundreds of gold. Farming gold is the most boring part of an MMO and the fact you're claiming it's some type of "end game activity" is laughable. From DAY ONE it was something that people had to do, never because they wanted. You can put leveling boosts in this same bracket. No one cares about leveling. We've been playing for 20 years, we've seen it all when it comes to leveling. Then he tops it off with the third most common vanilla andy complaint - world pvp. Something that has been irrelevant in WoW literally since vanilla, and for good reason. World PvP isn't pvp. It's just a shitshow of "who has more bodies". I've never once seen someone who makes this complaint that has ever gained a meaningful arena rating. It's always garbage players saying it. Calling something as universally liked as war mode "bad" is mind boggling. The general wow playerbase does not agree with you at all and you need to understand that. Even SoD is transitioning into one PvE and one PvP megaserver, each with one faction dominating. Why? Because they're OBJECTIVELY BETTER in every way. I don't log onto WoW to spend 30 minutes getting a DMF buff because literal dogshit grey parsing, 1500 rating clowns think sitting at the DMF buff giver ALL DAY is "fun content". I swear I could have thought I was watching a MadSeasonShow or Kargoz or Alexensual video. Same old tired arguments. The whole part of the game that is meant to be judged (the endgame pvp, m+, raids) isn't even out yet, you're judging nothing lmao.
I do agree flying changed everything, since cata. I played Classic for the first time and actually loved that i had to walk everywhere..surpassingly it made the game feel bigger and more like a virtual world
Actually cant stand the vulture creators that will come to a game play it for like 10 hours barely get into any of the main game and form opinions on it. Imagine talking about wow pvp in 2024. Anyways see you next expac when you complain about some more random objectively irrelevant shit.
@@mikko3 this is the equivalent of doing the tutorial in a game and saying theres no depth to the game and it was easy to beat. The game is really centred around high end pve if you dont like that wow isnt for you. I said vulture creators because they play for a week reap the benefits of the game monetarily then shit on it and move on to the next game theyll do it to. The only point I agree with is the content delay was way too long this time and probably lost peoples interest but this expansion has been really good so far(from someone who actually plays the game)
I had to check if this was a recent video. You could've released this video 5 expansions ago and I wouldn't have been surprised. So yea I agree with a lot of your points, but most of what you hated about TWW has been that way for ages. I too am not a Classic Andy (wink wink) so I agree with a lot of what you've said, but honestly if it hasn't changed at this point after everyone screaming about these things for years, I feel like you're wasting your time, mate.
Remember that even with PvP and PvE servers you could still flag yourself on PvE servers. So we effectively had war mode before it was a thing, Blizzard just deleted PvP servers.
they basically just made it so you cant flag, kill someone, and then sit in stealth till you arnt flagged anymore. now if you select war mode you are stuck in it. It is a good thing.
What are you even on about? I don't even think I've ever attacked anyone in the overworld, I usually was ganked myself. But then again, I mostly played on low pop vanilla servers, so it's not like there was a lot of opportunity.
Its sad whats become of retail, but whats even more depressing is thinking about all the younger generation never getting to experience that lightning in a bottle era of gaming, it truly felt like magic. Also, I agree with quin about the flying, it really makes takes away the wonder of some of the zones, and makes than feel much smaller than experiencing them only by foot. I think it could be ok for non-azeroth type zones, or like he mentioned zones specifically designed for it. Do you guys even think the game can be turned around? I cant hell but wonder if it was more a product of its time… but then again people still play classic in current year. Interested to hear your guys’ thoughts.
eh while i agree flying takes away from the beauty of the zones, removing it just makes traversal a big pain in the ass for everyone. If u wanna be immersed then make a personal choice to walk everywhere.
@boxoid5230 I don’t play anymore, so my opinion is not very relevant, but I’ll offer my thoughts. You’re right that it’s definitely too late to remove flying now unless there’s a lore/zone/expansion specific reasons, the cats out of the bag at this point. However, I still think you’re dead wrong about the effect it has on the zone playability and game overall. You even admit it in your reply, “it’s makes traversal a big pain in the ass for everyone”. Yeah, exactly. That used to be part of the game, until everyone started to treat gaming like a job and min/maxing their time and efficiency. Travelling through the zones wasn’t just about immersion, even though I think that’s a big part of it, it’s about having to interact with the game between your ‘point A ---> Point B’ gameplay. Whether that be interacting with mobs, npcs, quests, gathering, other players, atmosphere etc. All of that goes out the window when you’re just flying in the sky alone to the next objective. I mean seriously think about this for a moment, what exactly is so important that you need to fly everywhere simply to save time? Is getting to your next world quest that important? If your time is so very precious that you need flying that badly, why are you even playing the game in the first place? Are you even having fun? Too many people play this game like it’s a career.
The 3 Weeks timegating is actually good but it should be made by needing to farm gear in dungeons which is needed for dps checks/healing checks to step into raids and not a small patch to activate the raid portal.
For all of Blizzard's faults, they understand their current playerbase. People are no longer teens or in their early 20s. The majority of the playerbase has gotten old; has real life responsibilities that eat their time up. Maybe they got time for 1-2 hours of leveling here and there. Maybe they got time to do some M+ here and there. This time-gate gives most of the older playerbase time to catch up. People like Quinn who get to play games for a living and still play games like we all did in our teens, just dont understand that most of the other people in WoW have a family, a house/yard/etc to upkeep, a career, and basically live vicariously through streamers like Quinn who still enjoy games like we all did 20 years ago. But sadly we just arent like that anymore. I got maybe an hour or 2 here and there to play a game. I havent even bought the expansion yet; I'm glad there is 3 weeks to get everything straight. The unfortunate truth is WoW doesnt appeal to younger generations anymore, and its a dying playerbase that has slowly changed its gaming habits over the years, and Blizzard is slowly but surely catching on to this fact.
How do you propose making it take 3 weeks of simply farming dungeons instead of "take some time to gear 2 or 3 characters, play at your own pace"? 1% drop rates on items? Having to spam the same dungeon over and over again for some currency? And I hope you never spend 3 weeks nonstop gearing a class only to find out you hate raiding on them after 2 sessions and are stuck with them for the next month and a half while you slog through the same dungeons again on an alt lol
I am currently playing Mortal Online 2 and having a blast. Its very social, no fast travel, very challenging. Very good full loot PVP. There are no classes you can build your character yourself.
for me personally, this has been the most fun wow release i've ever played, going all the way back to wotlk release being my first. sure not everything is perfect or even good, but its been really fun
I can't imagine wanting pve gear to be good in pvp. What a horrible idea. The game was so trash when you had to pve for pvp gear. Worst take I have ever heard from anyone ever.
I dont think you are allowed an opinion unless you've experienced both eras. Sincerely, I'd take votes away from ppl who dont have the expertise either.
@@ihavenoidea4727 I don't think you're allowed either to tell other that their opinion don't matter. Who says you have the expertise to have a balanced judgement on what players actually want.
I think it's good to have 90-95% of power isolated in one branch. But getting that extra 5-10% (for sweaters and tryhards) should involve you partaking in every aspect of the game. So yes, pve trinkets that are good in pvp is totally fine. People make it more of an issue as it is as they act like "Oh i am 1700 rating but with these op trinkets i could be 2200" when i reality they just suck and the trinkets wouldn't make a difference
@@Dangerous1939 Agree, but I think the problem for quin is that the playing field is leveled for the most part now. The only thing he had going for him in previous xpacs was being insanely overgeared relative to his opponents because he plays 70 hours a week. That or Snutz carrying him, but regardless Quin is only good at grinding... not the actual game
Terrible pvp take - pvp gear balances the game - it sucks that some people could quickly get an OP pve gear and use it in pvp, happened in shadowlands, it sucked.
His argument would be that balance doesn't matter, back in the day the more you played the stronger your character, that's what he wants. That's how every MMO in the golden age was.
I remember getting full T1 in 05 as well as Rhok Delar on my Hunter and just spamming multi shot in battlegrounds and taking out groups of people. I can't understand why anyone would want that again.
@@EpicRiftPvP I'm not going to act like I know what amount of balance is best but it's undeniable that the popularity of PvP back then was astronomical compared to modern WoW.
ah news flash, wow isnt for you anymore ^^ its for people who dont have 100h a week to play. you can achiev anything in endgame with like 10-20h per week exept mythic raiding maybe. and thats really good. if you want you can sweat on an even playing field in pvp or pve or just take it slow :)
The only thing he would be hardstuck is 1800 when snutz isn't boosting him. They level the playing field for PVP and he instantly says "I can't overgear my opponent because I played the game 40 more hours a week than them? I'm out"
@@Doctorboster yeah I started dying laughing when he said something along the lines of "I used to 1v5 whole dungeon groups outside of instances". I get it bro you just wanna massively outgear noobs and one shot them, go play out your power fantasy in a single player rpg game or something. also thats still entirely possible if he actually played the game, my 3s partners and I do it all the time while doing pvp world quests lol. just now you have to actually be somewhat decent to pull it off since it's a lot more balanced in general
100% he had some valid takes, but him literally complaining he can't just get into groups and get rare / hard to get PvE gear and stomp on people is fucking dumb.
Most of the end game content isn’t even out yet. The first couple weeks are just to level characters and maybe get some rep that you don’t even need for power anyway.
@@kye4216 I am aware of that and that’s my issue. Even if you take your time you’re quickly at max level and then there’s nothing really relevant to do and nothing even remotely poses any challenge. With how quickly you reach endgame nowadays it shouldn’t be almost a month for challenging endgame content to release.
Ah, the guy who doesn't have anything to do all day long than to play video games is thinking that you should be wasting time crawling along the ground for every quest. Right. Totally not out of touch af. This was literally the reason I stopped playing Shadowlands - the Maw being a no-fly and no-mount zone.
You're assuming the content it boring and shit which it always is. If the stuff you were doing in the maw was actually fun and engaging rather than stupid chores it would be improved by no flying. Flying is a cope to skip through the chores, if the game was good it wouldn't be necessary
Should be titled “Grown man decides to stop playing video games”. Why the hell is there a video for this lmao. It should be normal occurrence not a surprise.
Waste of time making this video just to complain cause you want old versions of the game implemented into retail just stay on your shit classic era games for the nostalgia kick you’re looking for
I would point out sod exists but honestly all the acoustic people finally left funny seeing them tear WW apart after crying the past 6 months about sod
Hey Quinn, I know you’re feeling frustrated about all the time spent on that game, and it’s easy to feel resentful toward it. But it’s not really the game you’re mad at-it’s more about feeling like you didn’t use your time the way you now wish you had. Be kind to yourself; you were just doing what felt right at the moment. We all make choices we later question, but it’s never too late to refocus on what matters to you now. Use that awareness to move forward, not beat yourself up. You’ve got this! "
I mean regarding pvp it shows you don't know what you're talking about. The past 4 seasons we had slight bonuses for chasing end game pve items from mythic raiding in rated arena, including the legendary weapons. Those effects are nerfed in pvp, but they're still there, and they're still a slight advantage, which is exactly what you want. I have no reasons to believe TWW will be any different, you're judging pvp gearing based on the pre season gear which is just a portion of the game, you're not evaluating m+, you're not evaluating raid items (excluding trinkets), and the conquest gear

So true. Quin's solution to everything is remove everything and revert back to classic.
exactly the first thing he talks about is why am I killing shit quick? ok so u want classic scaling?

The take on PvP gear is absolutely dog water. You don't just go farm a raid every week to get a trinket anymore. There's Mythic raiding and M+ and difficulties that are far beyond "Oh just jump in a group every week an get cool gear"
Trying to mix PvE and PvP gear is literally what everyone has wanted to get away from since the game's came out.
@@EricNong-j6e Then have PvP gear only scale in competitive PvP where it matters.
This let's people create a much more engaging and meaningful meta that you actually have to prepare before going into PVP

quin is too overwhelmed to use 4 abilties in the correct order in league and talks about class design in wow
1 - early access : sucks but u weren't scammed they were clear that virtually everything would be gated
2 - Overworld : Zones are now designed around flying so that you can enjoy them & interact with them while flying
3 - World PVP : If you play for little less than a week you'd find the world pvp hotspots & that u can dismount people in the air by flying through them .. There's even gear & rewards specifically for WPVP if that's all u wanna do
4 - Dungeon queues : you don't actually queue for M+ dungeons or raids , which is the vast majority of end game , you have to actually fly there & the entrances of those instances are always packed ..
Also Thor (PirateSoftware) who worked at blizzard has stated multiple times that the token's real intent was to eliminate the ungodly number of people that were having their accounts stolen from 3rd party gold sellers which were rampant & it succeeded in doing so
Cosmetics : this is pure brain rot , there's literally over a thousand sets in the game from every corner of content , and since dragonflight in-game cosmetics have reached a new high in both quality & quantity , to claim that 1% devalues the 99% of unique cosmetics you can earn in game is just brain rot , don't get me wrong , I wish that 1% didn't exist , but I also can't pretend that the trading post which has added So Many unique good cosmetics just for playing the game doesn't exist , and as someone who's from a 3rd world country i'm also very grateful that the sub fee hasn't changed in 20years from 15 dollars , not even to mention that even the relatively few store cosmetics/mounts rotate on the trading post.

Wants BFA style pvp back with reintroduction of pve trinkets in pvp. (Thinks it’ll be like wotlk and not the tank trinket meta that we had.)
Wants flying mounts to be unavailable to players in new zones for pvp reasons and doesn’t want it to be point A to point B.
Think of kil jaedon fight stacking classes with immunities on last fight for soaks and everyone else benched - essentially that but thinking it would be good game design.)
Wants some classes to be unviable for mythic plus.
( the involvement of pve players in pvp was pog but fails to see how cancerous farming pvp for bis items for pve sucked 🫏)
Wants the removal of the wow token and gold farming to matter. (Failed to realize if he loves farming for gold he can still farm for gold. Just because he can RMT through blizzard somehow inhibits his ability or wanting to farm gold??? Unclear.)
Wants leveling to improve because he’s fond of his memories of it. Old man on front lawn shaking fist vibes about level boosts. (Has failed to recognize that wow is primarily about the endgame and leveling is a slog and is just an obstacle for players. Not a meaningful obstacle.)
Thinks the introduction of early access killed the hype. (He’s absolutely right on this.)
Wants the change of waiting for 3 weeks to only 1 week before season launch. (Actually good take; waiting for content feels bad but pacing might feel bad for people wanting to gear and level multiple characters.)
Wants pvp hotspots and wants players to request help from friends to not be corpse camped. (Has failed to realize these exist in the game with the exception of flying mounts offering an out to being corpse camped.)
Wants pvp servers so players are forced to pvp (failed to realize that war mode was a compromise between people who want to pvp can with added bonuses and people who don’t can opt out. has been solved for the most part.)
Most of this video can be summed up as “Quinn is bad at pvp and wants noobs to farm QQ”

Chris is Creative Director, not whole director of whole game

@@frenchdream330 WoW Is shit. PvP is shit, PvE is in a loop and raids are shit designed with shit trash mobs. M+ (YAWN), same shit. Pull all mobs and AoE them down. So Skill and fun and interactive! @@frenchdream330 For most players getting the title, gear and fancy mount is "winning the game", you get the loot and show it off. You can buy anything in the game now with real money and at no risk of losing your account, this makes it pay to win. It doesn't matter that the players who get boosted still suck, there's no way to discern that by looking at the gear they have - it looks the exact same as those that put actual effort in which diminishes that achievement.
So it’s a question of interpretation, pay to win means like Diablo immortal where spending money makes a literal god so you can annihilate other players effortlessly.
Saying that wow is pay 2 win is totally wrong and it’s just bashing the game for no reason because having a pretty mount gives you no advantage in your performance rather it be in PvP or pve

@@kye4216 Who defines what the game is supposed to be? It's obvious the game has been in decline for awhile and I don't think this expansion will make things better. I know it won't last long because GW2 has its own faults, but at least they added a housing system they plan to continue building on in future expansions. It's a start.....

ADHD and Fidget Spinners got wow to where it is.
part of the problem with high ttk pvp is that as soon as one person dies you lose a ton of advantage; with lower ttk, you have much better chance at dealing with out-playing your enemies even at numbers disadvantage
They have to do the "early access" thing cause in the past when they did an overall launch of expansions servers always died or you had a 10 hour queue, so they basically divide the players into 2 and can handle it, just small indie company.
Of course why increase server capacity to meet the initial demand
and money.
They don't 'HAVE' to do this, this is a copout instead of making better servers with their billions of dollars (other MMO's with playerbases that are just as large have no issue doing this by the way, so don't pretend it's impossible just for the sake of shilling for a megacorporation which doesn't even know your name).
@@ashiok Cope, if you were there at any Expansion Launch you would know they have to do it.
they dont have to do early access. its a cash grab. also there wasn´t any problems with launch since warlords of draenor. u just like to eat sh**
True. Same old arguments over and over again.
Based
You must be the rare 5% of the original player base that's played since 2004 and is actually happy with where the game is at now.
The majority of arena players don't want to have to grind PVE to get geared, they want to PVP to get PVP gear. I know a very tough concept to grasp
the game shouldn't be balanced around arena at all
100% agree on flying, actual gigatake and a much more important point than people think IMO.
"vulture creators" he has played the game more than 98% of player base
@@mikko3 this is the equivalent of doing the tutorial in a game and saying theres no depth to the game and it was easy to beat. The game is really centred around high end pve if you dont like that wow isnt for you. I said vulture creators because they play for a week reap the benefits of the game monetarily then shit on it and move on to the next game theyll do it to. The only point I agree with is the content delay was way too long this time and probably lost peoples interest but this expansion has been really good so far(from someone who actually plays the game)
Cool play monke game now

He has more influence than the shills that make stupid pvp compilations against low geared players.
Still mad you cant kill a guy in greens who doesnt want to fight back?
Too many people play this game like it’s a career.
i quit after playing for 2 min 😏
Like in previous 5 expacs
Are Quins eyes getting closer together or is it just me..?
@@TheDestructodave520 use the 2 hours for your kids then and dont force bullshit onto mmos
@@bam_693 What a brain damaged response. You're a clown.
@@Jaeogijaoidfjlanflnasn you know how that works? just copy and paste TBC, make heroic dungeons viable and a 10 man raid from the start. EASY
@@Doctorbosterbasically this, Quinn is effectively admitting that he sucks at pvp and can't run high m+ so the game feels bad for him
Terrible pvp take - pvp gear balances the game - it sucks that some people could quickly get an OP pve gear and use it in pvp, happened in shadowlands, it sucked.

Crazy to make this before Season 1 lol, but I get it the viewers woulda hated wow do whats right for the $
ah news flash, wow isnt for you anymore ^^ its for people who dont have 100h a week to play. you can achiev anything in endgame with like 10-20h per week exept mythic raiding maybe. and thats really good. if you want you can sweat on an even playing field in pvp or pve or just take it slow :)
Tell me youre hardstuck living in the past without telling me youre hardstuck living in the past
Wow community lives for the nostalgia thats it
The only thing he would be hardstuck is 1800 when snutz isn't boosting him.
29:57 sums up this entire video.
100% he had some valid takes, but him literally complaining he can't just get into groups and get rare / hard to get PvE gear and stomp on people is fucking dumb.
Completely agree with the take that getting sick gear from PvE to go and dominate in PvP was so much fun.
Quin the only guy who doesnt try to kiss blizzard's ass. I am so bored and the expansion isnt even out for one week.

Overall based takes. Flying while cool on paper, makes all mmo works tiny and ruins open world interactions.
I have no reasons to believe TWW will be any different, you're judging pvp gearing based on the pre season gear which is just a portion of the game, you're not evaluating m+, you're not evaluating raid items (excluding trinkets), and the conquest gear
if you're still playing this crap you're a clown
I could be speaking for a minority here, but I personally never want to touch M+ or Raids for PVP gear.
