Good points - but the video was far too contrived. (First presenter showing up late, chewing gum, not enough handouts etc. was just totally unrealistic and again, just obviously contrived.)
I apologise for being frank but the department of education and needs to update this video as a learning tool. Perhaps using Toastmasters videos. It very clearly does not demonstrate the difference between what is good and bad in a presentation and so outdated. I cannot believe this is still being used a learning tool... If you feelings are hurt consider altering you politcal perception. Ben Shapiro is a good place to start.
Thanks for the feedback. I'd love to get funding to update this. In the meantime, though, I can only say that it is effective for our students and the filming quality, though some things are now dated, is better than many videos online. It also relates to academic presentation skills at university, which I think is not the case for Toastmasters. I'll definitely consider doing a new version if money for professional filming becomes available, though!
Yes agree …not sure why gimmicks can’t be used ..the first presentation was far more engaging than the second - it’s important for academic presentations to be dry and dull?
Great job! I'll show it to my students here in Brazil. Thank you!
The second presentation was awesome
lol the first presenter was the best!
nerosonic 😂😂😂😂
@11:21 :`D

Very wholesome presentation at the start. The rest aren't so good compared to it
First guy was hilarious.
I don't suppose the second speaker could make a video for her entire speech? I was hooked on it and would love to hear the entire thing.
In the beginning I thought it was a bad example that this video tried to show us....
Impressed with first part shows what not to do.
the first representative was quit similar to me .

Hahaha. I laughted through the whole first presentation😃😂😂

I intended to learn some presentation skills in English but couldn't help laughing since the guy walked in...
Will be showing this to my Chinese students. I might not explain 'Bogan' though.

Maybe you should check out the ken Robinson Ted talk to see how an academic can give a funny, informative and effective presentation!
a quote from kissinger, enough to make her presentation the worst of all
big gay is hilarious.
At least he had a better accent. :D
So academic so boring, the first was so good
