TIGHTEN A T-Shirt Sleeve In 2 Minutes! (PRO Tailoring Tutorial)

  • The most annoying thing about t-shirts is when the sleeves are TOO BAGGY. It can honestly ruin a perfectly good shirt. The solution isn't to go and grow your arms, no just make the sleeves tighter by sewing them by hand! You can use a sewing machine for this sure but it's just as easy to do by hand as well.
All you need is a needle and thread. Start by pinching how much you want to take off. In the video I pinched too much so I took a bit less off. Move around too and make sure it's comfortable. Once you have the right fit use a sewing pin or a clothes pin to mark that spot. This is easier with someone to help you but my friends all make fun of me for making sewing videos, so they wouldn't help. I'm sure you will have better luck than me.
Once you've got your spot marked measure the amount you're taking off, and mark it from there down towards your armpit seam.
Ever sewed a backstitch? It's super strong! Thats what you want to use. It won't be PERFECT, don't beat yourself up over it, seriously! I've tailored so many things that had minor imperfections that I still loved in the end. The same thing will happen for you.

These claims are completely subjective. As someone with experience in classic men's tailoring, tight fitting sleeves are the exact opposite of a proper fit. No piece of clothing should be this fitted, as it completely downplays any structural or design-centric aspects of its construction. T-Shirt sleeves should come out at least 1 inch off the bicep when pinched together, to allow for vaporous perspiration and movement.
