    Hi, I recently bought a Gt Tdi which obviously had the 15inches on it. Have upgraded it to the 17" with 205/50/r17 and had a good run on highways from Pune to Rajasthan. I can say the overall mileage was 20+ kmpl and the ride was pretty stable and confident. But one bad pothole and my front right wheel was completely gone. Had to purchase a brand new wheel to reach back home. 😂😂
    17" Inches Lowe Profile isn't available in stock on any highways or small towns.
    Apart from that, its still on the same 17" inches and running good so far.

    U should have lowered the car. Then it would have cancelled out the change in performance. By shifting to 2 inches more on stock suspension you just added more height. That changes COM. The lower you are the more planted the car feels in corners

      Agreed but I’m not planning to change just the springs, as my car has done 85k kms it’s probably best to change the dampers as well. So the whole setup ain’t cheap. Definitely planning to lower the car, but I need my money plant to grow a bit😅

      i was running on 205/50/r17 when i was single and after becoming a family man its really tough to continue with the unpleasant ride; and ofcourse it spoiled my steering rack already and now am peaceful with 195/60/r16.

    Not many people speak or even know, about the adverse effects of increased rotational mass, via wheel/tyre upgrade. It was good to hear u speak about it.
    I have a 2001 Honda City Vtec and although the temptation to move from the 14" wheels to 16" wheels was great, at one point.....i decided to stick with the OE setup.
    The bigger wheels would have had a greater effect on it's performance, since it doesn't have the torque advantage of forced induction.

    Will 17 inch alloys do damage to my car or it’s suspension. Is comfort compromised?

    • @projectblak2784
      @projectblak2784  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Comfort is definitely compromised for better handling. You need to be even more careful with bigger rims as its easier to get the wheels and the suspensions damaged. Be careful on bad roads and it should be fine

      16s should be fine. A good balance between comfort and performance

      And what is your take on re-mapping polo gt does it damages the cars engine. As it pulls the engine really hard. Should we go for it ?
