LUVERNE LOWERING LINKS FOR KAWASAKI VAQUERO & VOYAGER/NOMAD | Review & Installation Process

  • I'm in LOVE with my new seat height thanks to these Luverne lowering links!! You'll get to see MY opinion of the links and see how I installed them on my Kawasaki Vaquero. Thanks for watching!!
    Height: 5'5
    Inseam: 30"
    According to Luverne's website, the links will lower your bike by 3/4" (feels like way more in my opinion...but that's probably because I'm short)

    I just wanted to give you a shout out! I bought a set of lowering links and no directions were included. Your video made the job easy. I especially appreciated how you showed the steps but also put the printed steps on screen. Awesome! Thank you.

    Hey Rho, Love your Channel and love seeing a young sister ride. Your bike is fire! Will be looking at another bike sometime next year and looking at the Voyager. I know the Voyager and the Vaquero are pretty much the same bike for the most part. Can you do a video of your full bike and some of your likes and dislikes about it?

    How's the handling feel with the center of gravity a lil lower?

    I have learned something new! I have noticed that I am on my tiptoes while sitting on my motorcycle and the seat is uncomfortable (my thigh muscles are resting on seat, the seat is too wide). I will gradually learn about modifying my KTM Duke for me. Still learning. Thank you for posting your insightful video, Riding with Rho.

    I'm really curious I have a 12 vaquero I have the luverne lowering links but only lower it 1 inch what could I do to get a total of 2 inches lowered? Thank you

    • @RidingWithRho
      @RidingWithRho  ปีที่แล้ว

      To my knowledge, progressive links would put it lower. I’m not familiar with progressives tho and not 100% on how they work.

    When you decided on the Vaquero, did you have prior experience riding big heavy bikes, or did you just take the gamble of learning and improving "on the job". I'm in the market for a bagger/cruiser and always liked Kawasaki Vaquero & the Vulcan 900 classic LT. I'm a returning motorcyclist (after a 30 years lay-off) but have never ridden a cruiser/ bagger or anything bigger than above 500 cc motorcycles. Now I'm confused about which bike to go for. I'm in the Fall of my years, 6'3 tall, and of 'normal' physical build and strength. And I know conquering a big, heavy bike is not done by muscles, it starts in the head. Could I start out on a Vaquero, knowing that the tricks to master this are to be careful, studious, and exercise the slow curves, turns, stops, and starting out of and riding around turns uphill? Or is it simply too much of a bike? Please, I would appreciate your insight and suggestion as a rider and owner of a Vaquero. So, it's Vulcan classic or Vaquero respectively 630 LBS vs 840 LBS?

    • @RidingWithRho
      @RidingWithRho  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Christian! I had a Vulcan S first, a Vulcan 900 classic three months later, and finally my Vaquero 6 months after that. I quickly found out that I’m a quick learner. For me, getting used to the weight of the bike was the biggest thing. I think I would have been ok starting on a 900 and moving up. I can’t relate to being tall (lol) but if I had to guess...based on how I used to have to tiptoe my bike...I think the Vaquero would be cool for someone of your height. If you do decide to start on a Vaquero, the parking lot will be your best friend. Check out the Vaquero or Vulcan groups on FB; there are a ton of resources and people who will be able to give you solid advice. Looking forward to seeing what you decide on. 🤗

    So how did the saddlebag reinstall go? Are they touching the bolts? Did you make any adjustments to the shock settings (add air, etc?).

    • @RidingWithRho
      @RidingWithRho  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The saddlebag reinstall was fine...no issues. Idk if maybe the the tourpack rack helps with spacing? But the saddlebags don’t come close to the shocks or bolts and everything tightened in just fine.
      Didn’t make any adjustments to the shocks but when I take my bike in for it’s 10000 mile service I’m gonna get it checked out.

    Hi Rho, did you think about changing the seat first, before the lowering links, to leave as much travel as possible in the suspension?

    • @RidingWithRho
      @RidingWithRho  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I considered a new seat but most reviews for the seats I looked at said that they felt that they sat higher with a new seat rather than lower. And budget was a factor also.
