I was so close to getting the Vaquero earlier this year. In my opinion you made the right move on choice of bike. It bothered me to listen to your reasoning because alot of it was the same thoughts I had before going with a Harley and was the obvious choice for the type of person I am🤦🏾♂️. I had a 2011 Vaquero, and I got the ECU reflash along with Vance and Hines pipes and a Roaring Toys air intake. Bike was like night and day. I even beat my buddies road glide 107 with a stage 2 kit. I traded it in for a Yamaha Eluder, for all the tech it had. But support for that bike is limited too. Vaquero is still a great bike.
Found your channel by accident. I've got a '20 Vaquero that I love. I bought it because I loved the curves of the bike. I hate the radio so your video showing where you went to get the adapter plate was very helpful. One mod I'd suggest is a new windshield by Clearview Windshields. You can get them clear or smoke and different heights. It really makes the wind buffeting off the stock one almost zero. They bolt straight up so it's a 5 minute project. Longest part is peeling all the paper off the plexiglass after you install it. Thanks for all the videos.
I’m so mad they discontinued the Bluetooth adapter! I got a 2024 in January and have checked everywhere lol. Going to go with aftermarket radio like you did! Love the content!

I know this video is old but I gotta say that you made a solid choice. I bought a 2020 Vulcan 900 as my first bike and i love that thang! When I was in the market for a bagger I couldn't find a reason to justify spending 30k for two wheels, but a $22k Road King ok I can get behind that but I wanted a full fairing bike. After tons of research I bought my BLACKED OUT 2014 Victory Cross Country last summer for only $11k with only 8k miles and I havent looked back since🤘🏽😎. Ride safe and btw that 21" wheel completley transformed your bike
My wife and I ride together. She has the Vaquero, and I have the Voyager. We like to ride out with other motorcycle enthusiasts. Just for fun. I ride with other veterans, as I am one also.
You made good points! For tech I put a Kenwood on mine with Alexa... does way more than a Harley radio. Big negative with harley is the maintenance... they have glamorous showrooms because owners spend alot of time there. A little modification can make harley aftermarket parts fit... have a HD air kit on mine.... even a HD windshield now.. keep up the good work!
Actually looking at one right now same year, have you done any mods , and if so which ones and how difficult, if i buy this one I'm looking at, first thing is the wheel and right after the handle bars
Nice bike... The best looking vaquero I have seen so far. I looked at that bike very hard for a couple of years, I came really close to buying it. I ended up buying a new 2018 Road Glide, yes it was over priced and I needed to update almost everything to make it good for me. 30K later.... My Harley tech is horrible on my bike so you are not missing much. The GPS is worthless, I bought a mount and use my phone instead. Can't hear the stereo, no ABS, and everyone has a bike like mine. My other bike is a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan Mean Streak, I bought new and it run just as good as the day I bought it. Never been to the shop except to install new tires. My 2018 Harley have been to the shop 4 times, in less than the two years I have owned it. I am a bit nervous about the oil migration M8 engine problems I been hearing about. But overall I do like my Harley... she sure is pretty and she cost me big time. Your bike doe's look great I it think you made a great choice.

First of all I want to give you props for your customized bike I don't see to many people with a vaquero I have a Vulcan Voyager 1700 so were in the same family lol and I don't see many women that actually customize their bikes so yo definitely have my respect hell I wish you could help me customize my bike lol
Hard to beat the prices on these. Got my eye on a few local listings. Sure they don’t have the usual “tech” features your Yamaha or Harley come with, but at $10g’s for a model year only a few years old with not crazy miles, and a much lower up keep cost compared to other baggers these things are a steal. Especially if you want a long haul cruiser with all the comforts needed to pack on the miles.
I'm trying to decide between this and a Street Glide I love the look of both I just wish the Vaquero had navigation and I also Wished the Street Glide was cheaper

Hello my name is Kodiak from Milwaukee Wisconsin the same thought process you went through to make the decision to buy your bike instead of a Harley was economical. That's the same thought process I use when whatever it is that I'm trying to do or buy, just because other people try to get you to buy something which is a Harley or something in that nature you disregard what they telling you and go by your own mind and gut. But my choice was a VTX 1800 retro which is a Harley killer and I thought about the Kawasaki but the VTX was a lot stronger the Kawasaki had more accessories but as you said you can always customize the way you want to bite to look anyway. So to those to you two wheels up and much power to you.
I will be in the market for a new bike in a year or two. The rider in me wants the Harley but when the price comparison is brought up it’s no argument. I have Vulcan classic 1600 right now.

I think putting some black blinker housings led blinkers and smokes lenses. And idk if they make a different center console but that black plastic looks cheap.

I'm not going to be very helpful because I don't remember how the 16" rides. From what I do remember, my turns felt smoother. And you MIGHT lose ABS on the 21" wheel (from what I've seen others say; I still have ABS). Other than that, I can't list the pros/cons in better way. Sorry! Thanks for tuning in.

Nimble and fun to ride, but I quickly regretted having no storage, painful suspension, and short range. I took a Vaquero out for a ride and I was in love. So smooth, more than enough power, decent storage, and extremely comfortable. I must have one.
I knew I would forget to mention something lol. No changes to the fender. Just had to purchase fender risers. ABS light comes on once I hit about 50mph. Thanks for your support 🤗

Do you think that the tour pack bracket would work with a Kawasaki Nomad 1500? I feel like they're kinda similar so it may work but I was looking at putting on a razor pack as well! Any information helps thanks!

I'm a year late but the dansport has a two into one exhuast which is way better looking especially if you chop the pipe to make it shorter, also i ride a 06 dyna so I'm thinking of getting me one especially cause I'm tired of the constant work I gotta do to it

Thanks! It’s from Rotation Wheels. No adapters needed...just needed the fender risers. I bought the 30 pin a looong time ago on a parts website but I’ve since installed a BT radio and sold the adapter. You’ll have to ask around in Vulcan/Vaquero forums. As people switch out their radios, they sell their adapters.

Just use your smartphone for navigation. Hook up a 10$ Bluetooth receiver to the auxiliary cord in the left glovebox and you’re all set.

I took the front reflectors off my front forks. Kept it all-black! Looks good either way

Kawasaki doesn’t produce them anymore. You may be able to find some on EBay or change out your your radio head unit.

When you put the JSR bars on does it affect you turning your front wheel completely to lock position.

Do you think that the tour pack bracket would work with a Kawasaki Nomad 1500? I feel like they're kinda similar so it may work but I was looking at putting on a razor pack as well! Any information helps thanks!

I'm a year late but the dansport has a two into one exhuast which is way better looking especially if you chop the pipe to make it shorter, also i ride a 06 dyna so I'm thinking of getting me one especially cause I'm tired of the constant work I gotta do to it

Damn that's nice! I like the bars and razor pack, but I'm really liking that wheel, what kind is it? Did you need any special adapters? BTW, where did you get the 30 pin iPod adapter?? I've been looking for one but from what I hear they're no longer in production. =\ ...Ride safe.
Thanks! It’s from Rotation Wheels. No adapters needed...just needed the fender risers. I bought the 30 pin a looong time ago on a parts website but I’ve since installed a BT radio and sold the adapter. You’ll have to ask around in Vulcan/Vaquero forums. As people switch out their radios, they sell their adapters.
