    I'd say definitely get something with bluetooth that pairs with the software to adjust difficulty. Spend at least that much. I started with a cheap wheel-on bluetooth trainer. Loved it, saw fitness gains, then upgraded to a top of the line trainer. As a busy dad with a job, wife, and kids, the convenience of being able to get in a quick ride after dinner is fantastic. Also, now that I telework, I can get in easy spins while attending boring meetings!

      Good to hear the turbo is working well for you! I love it in the winter 👍🏽

    Great video! However wheel-on turbo trainers can also be smart and interractive(Erg/Sim modes) like Saris M2, Kicker Snap e.t.c. On the other hand not all direct-drive turbo trainers are smart or interactive. Some like Magene T100 only measure power but are otherwise non-interractive.

    another great video; really useful and covered the main points. I'm trying to decide between a Wahoo Kickr Core and the standard Kickr. It's probably going to come down to price, TBH. I've considered the Zwift Hub too but all my gear is Wahoo so I'll likely stick with it.

    Be sure to hook up to a wide screen tv makes all the difference. Riding on a laptop sucks

    Super helpful video, thank you. To be clear you do NOT need a power or cadence meter on the Kickr Core when using Zwift? Thanks!

    • @JourdainColeman
      @JourdainColeman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Correct. The kickr core has power and cadence built in. Then zwift calculates your speed based on various factors.
      So all you need is the turbo trainer, no extra sensors 👍🏼

    You are not mentioning wheel-on smart trainers. I get that they're not as good as a direct drive trainer, but they're a good starting point

    • @JourdainColeman

      Yeah, I used one for a year or so before I got a smart trainer, i probably should have mentioned them. But I would honestly say that Smart trainers are in a whole different category and if you want to keep it up long term... that's the way to go.

    So the point I dont get is if you are lets say following a specific training plan on zwift while you ride, you dont have to change the gears right? The smart trainer adjusts it to you in regard to watts you put in. Is it the case? Thank you very much!

      @JourdainColeman  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@selim5072 that’s correct. The trainer adjusts the resistance so you don’t change gears. It’s called erg mode. It’s a very effective was to perform structured sessions
