  • Lands of Galzyr (1-4 players) is a terrifically written adventuring game with an open and persistent world, with everyone's actions having consequences in both the current and future games. Players assume the roles of adventurers traversing the lands while completing quests and trying to gather fame and prestige. Each game continues where the previous one ended thanks to a clever save-and-load mechanism, with no need for paper-and-pencil bookkeeping. You can play the game as many times as you wish and even swap players between sessions!

Thank you for the excellent review, Farrel and Tally! Glad to see you liked the final version of the game! As for the "quick travel" and selling items, we made a decision to not talk about those in the rulebook. We wanted to hide them - like many other surprises - in the game for players to discover on their own. 😊

Thanks for sending it to us! We suspected that was the case and I completely see your side. Can't wait to see what comes next!

Just played this for the 5th time last night. The web based story book has really blown us away. So much smoother than using a book with numbers. The problem is that now I want that system for all CYOA games like Dragonholt and Artisans.

Yea, I think it's pretty revolutionary for avoiding faff and flipping around pages...plus prevents you from peaking ahead!

Thanks for your thoughtful review. I recently had a chance to play this 3-player. We didn't have a lot of time to spend on the rule book, just enough to get set up and start playing. We played cooperatively. I'm not sure if we did something wrong, but we each started with our own quest in a different area of the map, per the rules as we understood them. After playing for an hour, we still never bumped into each other to experience those joint adventures. Did we do something wrong, or does it just take more plays to meet up?
I have since received the game and look forward to diving in some more, at which point this may become more clear. ;)

Hi! That is the thing about cooperative play in Lands of Galzyr, you actively have to work at it. You'll always need to have one or more adventurers in the same location, and then also for that quest to be one which allows people to help. So, it generally takes a little work, or luck.

@@BoardOfItReviews Ah, got it. That's what you touched on and now I think we were indeed playing correctly, we just didn't play long enough. Very good to know. Thanks!
