    One of our cats (now passed) used to go out and watch the fireworks. He really enjoyed them as evidenced by feet tucked under, slowly moving tail tip, and attentive following with slit eyes. He would come in if we insisted, but follow the show through a window or screen.

    I don't do the majority of these they do have bells on their collars - for MY benefit so I don't accidentally step on them. I'm also guilty of giving my boys hugs. I'm so gentle though, I don't squeeze them, I just touch their sides and give them kisses (which they like)

      How can we NOT hug them?

    I don't do most of these and try to keep the picking up minimal (Not always successfully) but I know my major transgressions in my cat's eyes are the habitual brushing, late afternoon curfew and enforced flea and worm treatments. She would put a stop to all those if she had her way.

      Ya but your only doing those things out of love for her. And if you were really hurting her...she would let you know I'm sure! Cats aren't usually shy about showing their honest feelings about something! Lol

    I make a couple of mistakes, but overall, it sounds like I'm a pretty good mom to my 2 sweet black former feral girls. 🥰

      I had an old horse that would watch fireworks. Sound didn’t bother her- except squealing piglets!

    You should also mention that collars of any kind are dangerous for outdoor cats. They can hang or hurt themselves. There is no use in collars with or without bells - just a big risk for the cat. An alternative can be collars the cat can free herself of. But of course many will be lost so in the end it´s better to accept that cats are hunters and try to protect birds and other animals by keeping outdoor cats inside in their main hunting times - early morning and early evening time.

      My cats are all indoors with climbing towers and natural scratch pads, and hiding places. They get the best natural dry food with a once in a while piece of real cooked chicken.

      Alot of collars have a safety release latch on them now incase the ever get caught. But it doesn't always unlatch unfortunately.

    Cats should be kept indoors at all times, good to let them out at your backyard at the most under supervision, even if you have high walls, some cats can jump pretty high, and once they are out on the streets they’re in danger of getting run over by cars, or even some psychopath people that don’t like cats and kill them with poison, that actually happened in my neighborhood just pre pandemic time when someone we never knew who? Killed big part of all our cats, some people didn’t even know what happened to their beloved cats, we only saw at the gates (is a gated community) the signs in different occasions offering rewards with a picture of their cat, we lost 1 out of 4 we had at the time, he was only 2 years old, all the other were senior cats he was the baby all of them rescues, nonetheless all them love and care for, but he would scape,because we’d rescued him when he was a year old from this lady that had not place for him other than the streets, she would only feed him, and as much as we try to keep him inside, he would always manage to find a way out, we’ve never believed in outdoor cats, because of that very same reason there are too many dangers for pets outside period.

    I have my first kitty in 25 years and she is very sweet and happy I hope. I fed strays when I lived in an apartment and they threatened to charge me hundreds of dollars if I didn’t stop. I live in a house and make sure she doesn’t get out. I would love to have a catio because she is fascinated by outside and the critters she sees. I would never let her out purposely because I know firsthand how hateful people are to them. Have adult children and I am back to being over protective 😂

    I tried a mirror instead of a laser pointer but soon stopped because my kitty needs something concrete to hunt, like a toy and the treats she bats around and hunts before she eats. I don't put clothes or even hats on my kitty. At Christmas, I tried to get her to sit on a Christmas tree skirt that I'd put on a chair, but she didn't stay so I've got a pic of her sitting under the chair and peeking out from under the tree skirt that hung down a few inches.

      I think lasers are fine. Both of my cats go crazy over them! They even know where it's kept and paw at the drawer sometimes for me to come and get it out! I think as long as your safe with it...not pointing it into their eyes and stuff like that, I feel they are fine. Gives them tons of fun interactive exercise and playtime. Our 5 yr old son loves to join in too! The three of them are all exhausted after just a 10 minute laser session! Lol

    My cat loves the laser pointer, the key is to know where the cat loves to go....
    I also get her to chase it and when she catches it I turn it OFF and make sure she's had enough chase the red dot...
    I also make sure she goes over her toys as she trys to catch the dot and as she gets it tell her she caught it....
    It's all about helping her know she's done well...

      Both of my cats LOVE the laser! They get so excited just seeing me walking over towards the drawer where the laser is kept! They are bouncing all around before I even turn the thing on! Lol like HURRY UP MUMMY! LETS GO MUMMY! And I feel it gives them much needed exercise and interactive playtime. I'll never give up our laser!

    I wouldn't put a bell on mine and I wouldn't put any clothes on my cat either I would not have them declared because that takes their main main defense away and since my home is their home I allow my cat to do whatever he wants to do to Express or Let certain things certain stress go and if people do come into my home I let the cat do what he's gotta do or what he feels like he wants to do sometimes they're curious sometimes there are some cats that are friendly but for me the people come over I leave him alone and if the other people see the cat I tell them leave him alone does his home this is his domain Respect it and let him do what he feels comfortable doing cause after all his owner is allowing people into his home that he's been expert that he and she have been experiencing pretty much by themselves with their owner so yeah that's what I would do he goes outside he comes in but there's a lot of things I sometimes see cat owners do That I would not do

      Did anyone ever tell you to put a period at the end of a sentence so that you don’t have 30 lines looking like one sentence? Did you go to school ?

    And that's putting clothes on them because it hindersstore way of moving and I would not declaw my cat I got a toy tree which he can climb and scratch on and yeah he does scratch on some things on the wall and everything but he's doing no harm nothing else so I just let him do what he feels he wants to do and he's got it down pretty much that He knows what he's allowed to do and what he's not allowed to do and it's allowed him to become actually a better cat in a better behaving cat

    I’ve always considered myself a loving, responsible cat owner. I always adopted older cats who lacked perfect looks. However, after watching You Tube videos (not speaking about those oh so cute and wacky cat videos), I figure I must have been a monster. My last cat died of cancer, and though I’m a widowed senior, how dare I consider getting a cat?

    • @julieannalbuzbeba253
      @julieannalbuzbeba253 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm sure your cat/s loved you very very much! Cats have a way of letting you know if they are not happy with something. And if you never noticed your babies acting unhappy or uncomfortable...they most likely didn't mind. Don't hold back from getting a new kitty if you are thinking about getting another one. It could be sitting somewhere RIGHT THIS SECOND wondering where you are and why you haven't come to get them and bring them home yet.

    • @julieannalbuzbeba253
      @julieannalbuzbeba253 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      And I think it's absolutely wonderful that you gave your time and love and adopted the older cats that are so many times passed by or not even looked at. All they want is someone to take care of them in their final years and for someone they can love and spend time with. ESPECIALLY the ones that are not 'quite' perfect! What am I saying? ALL cats are purrfect!
