- Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands, and I felt inspired to cover "Breathe" replacing the vocals and slide guitar melodies with my Moog Etherwave Theremin (running through a Boss Space Echo of course).
I composed the backing track from scratch using the Moog Grandmother Analogue Synth as well as a vintage 1980's Casiotone CT-320.

This is the by far the coolest performance I’ve seen so far!!
Thanks dude!!!
Here at last a noble person who knows how to play Theremin and giving it out just for us. Thank you.
Its more than just a sci-fi noise machine! Thanks for the kind words 😊
Uncannily beautiful! Theremins are awesome.
Thanks! 😊
Mesmerizing. Having played around with a theremin once, I can't begin to fathom how someone can coax something so musical out of so fickle an instrument.
Lots and lots of practice, but more importantly, enjoying the musical challenge and becoming one with the instrument 🧘🏻♀️
It's amazing how it's been 100 years and this instrument still looks like futuristic magic lol🙃 that was honestly incredible! 🙌
THE THEREMIN IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL INSTRUMENT IT SOUNDS SO MYSTIC I LOVE THIS SM IT MUST BE SO DIFFICULT BUT IT SOUNDS SO BEAUTIFUL
THANK YOU!
Todo un arte interpretar cualquier pieza en el theremin. Máxime, tratándose de Pink Floyd.
Excelente homenaje! Muy bien interpretado!!!
Thanks so much!!! ❤
Brava Polly!
Thank you!
I’ve seen about 5 Pink Floyd tribute bands as well as the original band members on numerous occasions ( but never all 4 together)
Seeing you do this here on TH-cam was an amazing treat. Excellent Work! 👍🏻🥂❤️😎
Thank you so much that's so nice to hear! I've only seen Roger Waters once years ago, so great to hear that music being played live
This made my mom move to tears❤❤❤
No way!!! Now if only the same would happen to my mom LOL
My daughter and I were singing. thanks for sharing.
Aw thats so nice to hear!! Thanks for listening 🙂
Super cool and unique! More please!!
Im working on covering kraftwerk next!
Lol, this is so awesome. I've seen the theremin as more of a fun gadget rather than a real instrument, but this is just great, looks really difficult.
Thanks so much! The theremin can be a real deal instrument as well as an effective noise maker
A theremin is the perfect way to find out if the player is in tune. ;-)
It's been a real instrument for over a century. Try listening to some Clara Rockmore recordings. She was particularly annoyed with the way it was used as a sound effect generator. Not me, though. I enjoy its various uses.
Awesome. I need to play one of those before I can't. Brilliant.
You should try one!!!
Finding one is the issue. My grandpop messed with one at a gig he was playing at and someone there had one and played that night also. I've been wanting to at least mess with one for awhile. You play very well. That was a good song to play, too. Brilliant.
This is incredible !. Pink Floyd are one of my all time favourite bands and you've done the music justice.
I'm subscribing because you have an incredibly cool user name. But, also, you can Somatic the hell out of that Theremin.
haha yes!!! Thanks!
Very nice. Thank you for the bandcamp link!
Thanks for listening! 😊
Gotta have an amazing ear for pitch to be able to pull off such a great performance. Bravo
Thanks so much!!!
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Moving to hear Pink Floyd on a theremin, bravo!
Thank you!!! 😊
. . . .BOAH EEEEH . . . . .she perfectly hits the notes of that song ! . . . .. . sounds very good . . .an it is no easy melody . . . . . . . . . ! . . . . . . . . .great . . . . . . . .you have very good ears . ..and a feeling for the sound and vibrato . . . .. . . . .
Thanks so much!!!!
Fantastic! Great job on taming the Theremin.
Thanks!
Omg, never seen anyone being able to actually play a Theremin this good!
Absolutely amazing! 👏👏👏
I really love this sad sad pink floyd song 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤You are so good!🖤🖤🖤
It's sad but uplifting at the same time, all about never waiting for anyone to give you permission to pursue what you want out of life, while warning of how fast time will go if you neglect your ambitions...

That's deep, plastic girl. 😉
Playing, playing the air,
A skill unique and rare.
Reach, but don't touch me,
Look around, and stand your own ground.
For long you'll strive and deep you'll sigh,
and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry,
and you can't touch and you can't see, the music you will make with me.
Fun! Having fun!
Now that your work is done.
And when at last the song is sung, don't sit down; it's time to learn another one.
For long you'll strive and deep you'll sigh, in learning how to ride the tide,
and balancing electric waves, your hands perform with skills you've made...
This is so cool to see, never heard of a theremin before all of this.
very cool ! :) it look like a relaxing instrument
It sounds relaxing, but is a real pain in the ass to play properly 🤣
Wow, that is quite a skill.
Thanks! It's a fun challenge
Well, can't get more Retro than a Theremin! (Only Instrument invented in the 20th Century) and I can only imagine how hard it is to control Pitch and phrasing on such a thing, so despite a few oddities, thumbs up from me.😊
No mate, not the only instrument invented in that century. Not by a long shot.
There are many instruments invented in the 20th century. Even some non-electronic instruments like the steel drum, the saxophone...
I've been a theremin fan since I heard the Beach Boys and Jimmy Page use them.
Your playing is so mesmerizing and fantastic!!!
omg , magic still exist! usually not my music , but well done!
Es muy difícil de ejecutar, excelente trabajo gracias
Formidable 💜 I though you were an android for a sec there 😊
Who says I'm not?!?!
Waow, really impressive girl!
WOW!
Beautifully done! 👏
Thanks!!! 🙂
Thank you for the amazing performance as I know playing a theramin requires a lot of practice and patience.. I am seriously considering buying a Moog Theramini since i have damaged hands and I know I'd be able to learn to use the theramin as a real musical instrument.
Yes give it a try! Takes time to really learn it but there are a few great theremin teachers on youtube you can start with
What is this sorcery?
mastering this instrument is probably the closest we'll ever get to becoming a wizard
😂😂😂
The theremin is the only instrument you play without touching it.
Amazing
Thanks! 😀
That was very cool.
Brilliant! 🙂
I have a Moog Ther a Mini…🎹❤️🎹❤️
Just an amazing machine …..🎶🎶🎶
That was very THERApeutic.
i'm gobsmacked man
I’m in love with this! I would LOVE if you could do “ incense” by Erykah Badu, lovely song and would sound so great, thanks! Peace n love✌️
I have more covers coming soon!!! ❤
daaaaaaaaaaaammmmnnnn🤩
It would be amazing to make a Theremin band but they are so few and far between.
That is my dream, to lead a band with a theremin, who knows maybe it will materialize?
Sounds good keep em comin
A Beatles song is next as well as more originals!
Hast Dich schön gemacht mit Lippenstift für den alten Keyboarder und Reparierer elektrischer Keyboards😂🎉❤❤❤❤
Lovely visuals & video style - nice tones from your Etherwave emulating Gilmours slide guitar, perhaps a little piercing in parts, and some slurring/intonation could be better ... keep up practising!
How many takes before you got there? Respect.
A LOT! 😄
Really good, nice to hear real melodies not just space noises.
If you don't already do this, can I suggest you follow the best advice I was ever given.....
Sing along with everything you play (except maybe live performances), It really helps break down the barrier twixt brain & fingers. I'm not a theremin player, this tip works for any instrument.
You know I actually did try this, and because I can't sing and play (any) instrument simultaneously, it just through me off! It's just a tricky instrument
only note i have is the synth keyboard sounds a bit too similar to the theremin and makes it harder to distinguish your very pristine melody.
The music tends to mix with the music!
♥
Does that instrument really exist? Are there foot controls? How do you pause from each note?
The left hand is volume. The right is pitch. The volume is changed by raiding and lowering. The pitch is proximity to the post, which is more or less an antenna. There are other controls, but they aren't used during a piece.
@@tolkienfan1972 thank you for letting me know I really find that a fascinating instrument
@@damianlopez7630 welcome. I recently saw a video of a musician explaining the controls. 😁 I also find it fascinating.
@@tolkienfan1972 Thank You! Yes. These Instruments are innovative and awesome. 🙏🎼🎵🎶❤🙂
No foot pedals. Movement of the hands dictates the notes being played.
Music is amazing but unrelated what is the dress your wearing called it looks good and I want one
It's from Madcap England!
beautiful!
Is the grandmother playing single notes or did you overdub chords? Sounds sooo dreamy
Thanks! The chords are coming from the vintage casio keyboard, bass notes from the moog
Great gig in the sky, please
Sei fantastica...! ❤
man i really dont understand how this instrument works lol, are you just playing the steel guitar lead with everything else being prerecorded and looped? or am i horribly mistaken 💀
The Theremin has a metal loop and a rod. These two metal interfaces generate their own electromagnetic fields. The circuit is connected to a speaker (or perhaps two speakers). When you bring your hands near these metal parts, the electromagnetic field generated by your body interacts with the fields produced by the instrument.
By learning where to place your hands in the air and how to move them just so, you can eventually produce music by finely manipulating the emanating fields.
This requires fine precision and good spatial awareness.
It's like learning to play an invisible violin without actually touching it, or playing a fretless bass that not only has no frets, but also no strings or body.
It's an instrument that's easy to learn the basics of, but then the learning curve goes to ninety degrees and stays there.
Todo es mejor desde que los cientificos inventaron la magia... 😮
Круто! 😉🇷🇺
snes station theme music 😂
beep boop
Better than Clara Rockmore
GASP!!!
It's a man baby! 😂😅
😉
You a dude?
sry, but its looks like a ROBOT is playing , NO EMOTIONS , sry
Beep Boop 🤖
