Coach- wow. Never had the grip explained this way before. You clearly know what you’re talking about and I’m going to follow exactly what you’re showing and see what happens. I’m really enjoying watching your videos.
OMG - Stuart - you are my personal HERO!!! I was watchingyour videos for a while - and was playing Golf for 14 years with several YT-coaches and also real coaches with trackman and highspeed camera. But I was NEVER confident with my swing, whatever I've tried!!! With the help of this video it changed and now the FUN for playing Golf came back! I was confident about my "correct grip" - specially the forehand. Came allways from out to in and across the line. Had NEVER EVER thought the cause was my WEAK forehand grip!!! After holding my club like your instruction for the very fist time - I thought - that can never work - because my club was 45 close!!! But what should I say - it's working so perfect and I didn't need a lot of shots, because now it feels so comfortable to me. Wondering why no coach found this during my last 14 years - but it's never to late - so THANK YOU - THANK YOU!!!
Ask not why, but simply enjoy the now. Go forth, conquer and lower that handicap my friend. Thank you so much for you kind words and grateful to you for sharing. Best wishes Stu 😊
Stu, wonderful lesson video that explains in detail how the lead hand should grip the club. Can’t wait for the trail hand video. Unfortunately, most amateurs ( and I used to be one of them prior to watching your channel) don’t realize how vitally important a proper grip makes. A proper grip has eliminated my slice and aloud me to move more fluidly. Keep educating us. Cheers.
Thanks for the Lesson Stuart ! I had an Stroke in April which affected My Left -Front Arm ,Hand and am Recovering and have Been Playing an lot last 3 Weeks per My Nureologist . Have lost My Grip Feel and Been all over with it and You struck an Nerve with Me so Thank You very Much Cheers from Cincinnati !
Daryl I’m so happy you’re ok and back playing again, sending much love my friend and glad the grip video has struck a chord for you. Best wishes from the UK 😊
Love the content , really helpful , played off and on for 40 years , always played with a heavy draw , bit of a flippy impact , used to be 6 in to out , but have had some lessons recently and been practicing on trackman. Am changing release pattern , swinging more left through impact with more passive hands , feels like I’m slicing it off the planet ,but face to path has got pretty neutral and I’m hitting tiny fades. One weird thing has been that I hit little fade even if the face to path is negative . To hit a draw I need -2.5 ftp any less that that and spin axis is to the right. Sometimes that’s a big heel strike but on centered ones it still happens . Off the toe is draws. Do you think that’s lie angle ? In many ways I don’t mind as the balls going much straighter , and having fought a hook it is a vast improvement . Thanks so much for your content , the understanding you’ve given has helped me stick with the changes .
Hey buddy - thanks so much for the insights; if the FtP is negative and the ball is fading, is this with an iron? Or Driver? If driver it’s 100% heel strike. Best wishes Stu
Isn't it amazing Stuart how the grip improves absolutely nearly all the golf faults.....the penny dropped for me after years of trying to improve stance, positions and a host of other things, I tried to pass the good grip advice to a friend of mine but he didn't believe that this one thing would cure a multitude of his problems so he never stuck with it and still has a multitude of problems......ah well can't help everyone...🌟🎊🤩🥳
That’s the truth John, when the pupil is ready the coach will appear. Thanks for trying but super happy you have seen the advantages. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. Best wishes Stu
It's Great how you reference / refer to the previous lesson by a picture of that lesson . better still ,if we could click on that box ( and it opens up another page ) rather searching for it, thru all your vids for it. thanks Coach !
Hey there, I would watch my broom series and ny very latest Grip video and check your right hand is in the fingers enough. From there, watch my "power at impact" video. Let me know how you get on!
Hi Stu, really enjoyed this video. From everything ive watched before there seems to be alot of talk about weak strong and neutral grip types. I've always felt im in the neutral grip park with my left thumb just on the left hand side of the club (not to much on the side like you show). Now I feel like this is where ive been going wrong and even though I've thought I was in the "neutral" grip park, it actually feels more weak then when I try putting my club in the fingers with the thumb more based on the side. I presume this is classed as slightly more strong but I feel like its actually giving me a chance to close the face more then ever before. I'm no longer following anymore instructional content other then everthing your channels produces. Thanks again 👍
Love hearing these insights, so grateful for you and all my lovely golfing family to share. Great you’ve grasped the importance and placement of the grip for better golf. Best wishes Stu 😊
I've been using a "classic" neutral grip 2.5 knuckles on my left hand and grip in the fingers for the past 16 years, your grip Stu feels super strong ALL knuckles showing on the left hand. Very interesting it feels impossible to leave the club face wide open at impact which has got to be a good thing. Will have a good test at the range.
Love the detailed picture at 11:31 of the specific placement of the club in hands, One question tho, you say rotate your forearms, even tho it seems like your elbow crease is getting closer to the camera wich for me seems like the upper arm would be rotating in the shoulder socket. So could you please clearify where you would prefer the lead elbow should point in setup😊 i thing i am a bit hypermobile in My elbows so this might be a ME problem😂
Stuart, reading Ben Hogan Fundamentals book he states that the V of the left hand should point towards the golfers right eye. With this grip you are showing, the V on my left hand is pointing at my right hip. Have I over done it?
@@GoodGolfCoachingIt feels good to grip as you have shown. There is more leverage on the handle and the club face is in a better position in the slot before impact. I'll work with it and see what happens! Thanks.
It’s like you were watching me this week and thought “I should put a video out about this” 😂. After a year of practicing and working on my swing with your TH-cam instruction, a couple weeks ago everything finally clicked, effortless and repeatable shots, mostly down the middle with lots of distance. My average for 9 holes this year was around 55, once this all clicked though I’ve been shooting closer to 40… huge! This past week I noticed I was hitting them with a lot of left bend, more than normal, and realized I was gripping the club a little too strong. Yesterday was at a range and was playing around with shifting my grip (similar to how you did here) and saw the same differences in my shots, then settled back into the “correct” strong grip and everything was back to normal. Thanks for helping to make the game more fun, less complicated and exciting again!
Kyle such a lovely message to read my friend and makes all the hours filming and editing worth it all. Truly. Keep up the great play would love to keep hearing about your progress. Best wishes Stu.
Thanks for your effort to improve us all! Question on your lead hand, is the angle of the hand n wrist kept at the top of the backswing? Very hard to tell at full speed. Do we want to keep that angle ? Ty again Stu
Gregory, great question my friend. You will only have to wait until tomorrow for that very question to be answered in my video. Stay tuned! Best wishes Stu 😊
Hi Stuart thanks for all the videos. I have what maybe a daft question on this one when we place the club in the base of the fingers the face should be pointing at the target? This feels so closed to me when I place it back down to the ground
It will always depend where you’ve come from for sure, but it definitely sits in the strong side of most golfers neutral. Most golfers grip it “weak” in my opinion. Best wishes Stu 😊
...... love this video Stu...... I think sometimes I might be a little guilty of doing that fake strong grip you were showing. Thanks for the detailed explanation.....⛳🍺
11:35: Setting lh grip in the air. Ideally, where should the club face be pointing during finger-wrap stage to avoid an adjustment over the ball. Club head is out of the picture. Thanks!
Stu - quick question that I’m not sure I’ve heard you mention before. What are your thoughts on changing the grip sizes? I have pretty small hands (cadet small) and sometimes have trouble with the club staying in the proper grip placement after setting up and starting the swing. I have standard size grips on that came with the clubs, and wonder if changing the grip size would make any difference with “locking in” the grip. Thanks!
After applying this left hand. Is it normal to feel like I am using a bit of tension to hold the club square? If I release the tension the face falls closed when my wrist relaxes into a more natural orientation.
This could be the reason of my inconsistent golf shots. I'll give a try on this golf club grip for sure on my next trip on the range (i'm a natural left handed but i play as a right handed player)
I'm a bit confused. In previously videos you say that the left elbow should point to the target. This grip shows that the Pit of the left elbow is facing away from you and the elbow is facing your body.
Steve - I was waiting for this comment 😊 - everyone’s left elbow sits slightly differently but the hand on the club should not (within limitations as discussed) please apply the “left elbow” placement as per the video you are referencing as advised in that video. This was purely about hand placement and nothing else. Thank you for your question, it will certainly help others too. Best wishes Stu 😊
Spot on about feeling the ball speed with less dynamic loft. I'm a big out to in swinger (just cannot seem to fix it) and my best feeling strikes are the ones where I look up and see the ball start left and go left. Closed face = less loft = more speed = feels great. Just need a more neutral path.
Coach- wow. Never had the grip explained this way before. You clearly know what you’re talking about and I’m going to follow exactly what you’re showing and see what happens. I’m really enjoying watching your videos.

It does not get better than this. Looking forward to the "Right Hand" educational video. Thx from a convert.

Will be really helpful to talk about the right hand too. Lots of variation on tour even with the same LH grip

Hi, do we have to crease the left grip setup ?
Hi there, I would recommend it..

I wouldn’t worry about the elbow if you’ve changed the grip. Get the grip correct and then worry about the elbow.
Stuart, reading Ben Hogan Fundamentals book he states that the V of the left hand should point towards the golfers right eye. With this grip you are showing, the V on my left hand is pointing at my right hip. Have I over done it?

The importance of a good grip has always been emphasised but a ‘ good grip ‘ was always too weak !!!!
Amen Gareth; knowing what a good grip and then how to use it is quite “handy” 😊🤣
Hi Stuart thanks for all the videos. I have what maybe a daft question on this one when we place the club in the base of the fingers the face should be pointing at the target? This feels so closed to me when I place it back down to the ground
Hi there - when you return the grip back down, make sure you keep the shaft of your left wrist and the club face will be square.
So would you say your left grip is really strong? It looks and feels like that. Good stuff, as always.
It will always depend where you’ve come from for sure, but it definitely sits in the strong side of most golfers neutral. Most golfers grip it “weak” in my opinion. Best wishes Stu 😊

It should be perpendicular to your foot line when hand placed on. Hope that helps?
I need a lesson on the release. I fight a closed club face. Driver has still been the biggest struggle.

Fab, do let me know how you get on!
What is the hand action through impact, so much talk of flat left wrist, is that still what we want?
Hey there - please watch this Unlocking Golf Ball Compression: Increase Your POWER at IMPACT
th-cam.com/video/luFPqPvamiU/w-d-xo.html
After applying this left hand. Is it normal to feel like I am using a bit of tension to hold the club square? If I release the tension the face falls closed when my wrist relaxes into a more natural orientation.
Please watch my “power at impact” video to help release tension in your grip and forearms and still release the club with a straight club face.
This could be the reason of my inconsistent golf shots. I'll give a try on this golf club grip for sure on my next trip on the range (i'm a natural left handed but i play as a right handed player)
Please let me know how you get on Marco. Best wishes Stu
Why after you apply the grip do you move the handle forward, I assume to square the club face.
Keeping the shape of your left wrist makes the face square at address, forward shaft lean helps your right arm, right should and hip move better.
A grip video would be better with a zoomed in close up
Thanks for your suggestion Barry
I'm a bit confused. In previously videos you say that the left elbow should point to the target. This grip shows that the Pit of the left elbow is facing away from you and the elbow is facing your body.
