    Never had a Futaba servo go bad on me, I bought like 10 of the S9351servos back in 2006 and they are still going strong today.

    Great videos in general sir! One quick note, I just went through this on my Schumacher, the non centering can also just be the servo horn. I had a new Savox 1251mg start to do this randomly and it wound up just being the plastic factory servo horn. Put on a protek clamping horn and back in business. Keep up the awesome videos and help me find someone in the know who can bring some racing back to south Louisiana for us 🙏🏻😊👍🏻 lol

    What if when you turn it on and the sterring goes left and make a buzzing sound when it's on and when I turn it off it stops .... and does it mean the servo is needed to be replaced and the servo is making the buzzing sound

    Sometimes if a servo is glitching, it can also be a receiver issue, especially if it's a cheap receiver. Usually you can fix that by using a glitch buster or power cap.

    my servos are new...but they are cheap...so it is probably bad servos.
    my e revo keep turning left and right when slowing down or braking... it start slightly and gets to full left and right swings.
    when i hit go backwards it find its center and go backward....its just that sometime it keeps glitching and turn slowly on one side until it send a signal to stop it and return center...
    those 25$ servos are shit...

    That wobble had me perplexed. After playing with it one more time it finally went on me. Awkward thing was it went while i was replacing other parts and testing them out so i felt like I had done something. It's likely that i over trimmed it so probably was me XD

    My steering trim is at the left side of the center dot. And I always need to straighten it when I am driving at times and I don't think it needs to be on the left side to go straight? That's probably a bad servo.

    The real question is: Do you know how to test a servo properly without installing it in your truck in the 1st place? Thanks!

    • @monsterrun
      @monsterrun 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      conect it to chanel 1 of your receiver.
      start your car to power up the receiver. and make sur car is in center position connect the servo horn and hit left and right to see if it moves in a 270 degree angle.
      after hitting gas check if the servo horn start moving on its own slowly. normally it should not move at all.

    • @BlueDroneBlues
      @BlueDroneBlues 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@monsterrun it didn't really matter which channel I plugged it into. When I did it just whipped out the receiver. Ended up to my multimeter and you could see the voltage jumping around. I called the company that made the steering servo and they replaced it. Now it sits in my Traxxas UDR. 🤓

    Nice vid input. What about if your servo does not turn fully when vehicle is place on the ground but turns fully when in the air? That's the problem I'm having. Because it will turn one direction fully but not the other way when on the ground.

    Bought an RTR yesterday, servo and radio are both brand new. I had first issue yesterday but trimming seemed to fix it. Today the servo was completely cutting in and out. It would ignore commands and then suddenly become responsive again. This happened several times in my half hour run. Any ideas what it it could be? This is my second day with my first hobby grade car haha.

    I have something really strange going om with my servo right now. Only started today after removing and then reinstalling the servo saver and the steering links. Now after just turning the car on, the servo will start turning gradually, click by click, like som weird clock and after reaching max steer, it keeps pulling and pulling, and then finally goes back to center. What's going on?!? The car is a Tamiya Sand viper and the servo is a Futaba S 3010.

    • @magnusjohansson295
      @magnusjohansson295 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mrloom I think I replaced the servo. And then the entire car. Tamiyas just don't hold up in my opinion. Even the slightest bump = at least one boken part.
      The plastic used is too hard. There must be some give to the plastic material, some flex you know. Otherwise, too brittle.

  • @gcarrico28

  • @gregohare6412

    It would be more constructive if you would explain the underlying cause. I know some sponsored pilots who resolved the vibration at center by placing a piece of velcro between the elevator counter balance and the stab, and continue to fly same servo in competition. I've had servos jitter for years without failure. Same goes for centering. Some servos don't center well but continue to function fine. But who knows you might be right.

    • @JohnBarronII
      @JohnBarronII 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could also be unclean/unstable power from the BEC, wrong mode selection in the remote, too much power going to the servo. Either way to say servo jitter = starting to go bad is not really correct. It'd be like saying motor stutter is a bad sensor wire. When it could be the sensor board or esc as well.

    When my truck gets under hard load my servo glitch's full left in low gear in high it just glitch's left.. Bad servo? I swapped radio gear no help.

    • @pnwRC.
      @pnwRC. 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you tried adding a glitch buster? It's a cheap capacitor that lugs into the receiver, & helps to prevent glitching.
