Not so much that it was designed in "GM's cheap" days but the fact it was strictly designed for fleet and rental use. With the Captiva, GM really isn't trying to compete with any other vehicle. It isn't for sale to the general public except on used car lots. A wise move on GM's part because it keeps the Equinox numbers lower which maintains a higher level of residual value. It's not a bad vehicle and is quite reliable. However, if you buy one remember that it doesn't hold its resale very well. If fact, I noticed the price of yours on the windshield....Seems cars are always thousands more in California than in the Midwest...
+Checkm8king2 I agree, though I feel the Captiva could have given the Equinox a real run for its money if they paid a bit more attention to it. Honestly I love the simplicity and the looks. Recently purchased one and its been great! 25.7 mpg so far in mixed driving.
Actually the only place in the world it's only sold for fleet use is the US. Everywhere else (Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America) this car is sold in showrooms for normal customers. If Saturn was still alive, this would probably be the case in the US as well. So I don't think this car was created with the rental/fleet usage in GM's mind. And I think the materials used in this car are better than the ones used in the Equinox. Just a reminder: Opel cars are usually sold as Buicks in the US, and this one, despite being an Opel, is simply sold as a Chevy.
I didn't know GM offered a 3.0 V6 it looks like the baby to the 3.6 V6. The silver with the chrome wheels looks very sporty and nice.this is a basic GM suv not gonna be high quality but good for most folks.
I got it as a replacement for my 2001 GMC Jimmy. Since they don't make the Jimmys anymore, I had to say goodbye and move on. It's honestly a great car. It does exactly what I need it to
Yes. In places where the Equinox isn't sold, such as in Brazil, that's GM's choice in the compact SUV segment. That's what's happens in the UK as well with the Vauxhall Antara (a rebadged Captiva Sport).

It's the Holden Alloytec V6 (HFV6), the LF1. The LFW is the same but flexfuel E85 capable.
Where is the 12 volt plug in the front of the car to charge the phone???
Under the cup holder in the center console

Engine has pretty awesome power output for a 3.0L in a fleet rental car. The base 4 banger is woefully underpowered, stay far away from buying one.
Is this the LTZ trim?
Why did you stop doing car reviews since 2018? Are you still alive?!
So this isn't a good drive around car? like for everyday use?
+Keke Cannon Yes. Recently purchased one and have had no issues.
Chelle Cannon don't have any issues with mine
