The Captiva is a large SUV that can be specified with either five, or seven seats. Models come in two, or four-wheel drive and there's a 2.2-litre VCDi turbo diesel engine with a choice of two power outputs. The lower-powered model gives slightly better fuel efficiency and lower running costs, but both have an impressive torque figure, which aids low-down acceleration. The Captiva offers space and practicality for a price that upmarket rivals can't match: the trade-off is a slightly cheap-feeling interior, noisy engines and an occasionally harsh ride. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I know I'm a few years late to the party.... but lets all appreciate those jeans. good lord.
something wrong with them...?
@@arturseversons3444 oh there a lot more then allright. There are briliant
Never too late to be a creep
@@TheMartai you don't like good quality jeans?
@@TheMartai Most humans have sexual instincts, it's nothing to be ashamed of
To be fair, if you drive a car like a go-kart it will rock when you stop it. Brakes are meant to be used progressively, not stomped on!
She absolutely slammed that thing to a full stop and it had like 1 inch of wobble
Rebbeca it is obvious you listen to your viewers, you reviews are getting better and better! I enjoy watching your reviews now!
"the exterior styling will ensure that you stand out from the crowd"
You got that right!
This Captiva (2013), need come to Brazil urgent, this model its so beautiful and tecnology and modern.
I have a Captiva 7 Diesel. LX. I've had it just over a year now and the fuel economy is beginning to get better. I do a lot of driving up and down hills and it gets thirsty under load but I still manage to average 9.3 litres per Hundred Km. On a country trip it seems to be returning 8.7l/100km. I don't notice the body roll that you feel is a problem, but then again I had a Camry before and that was dreadful in the bends. Pretty quiet on road with windows up. Quick overtaking with confidence.
Nicely showed that 3rd row space, wonderful review!!!
The best review Rebecca has done so far, really really good!
I drove two versions, one the older version (diesel) and this version (petrol in my case), both are great drives. Versatile and great as a family vehicle that does not need to race on the streets but can do so if you want it to. I like the handling in the latest version more than the older version. Reviews are about 5 hours, proper ownership last a lot longer to access the car. It's all about knowing the car.
kenko ko I'm 4 years late but who knows. I'm about to buy a second hand one, were you happy after the amount of years you've owned him?
I have not thought about a 7 seater, but you have definately captured my attention.
Cool, energetic review.
Keep it coming!
Thanx a ton for your lucid review
It was so helpful
Rebecca, You're a looot better now. Saw your first review, and then this! My god you're good at improving your reviewing skills. Keep it up girl!
Just bought one last night 2015, I need it to do me justice ❤️
I have this car and everything she says is a 100%. Love it still.
this is so harsh my last car was a ford maverick. I now drive a chevvy captiva lt and I throw this around as much as I did my maverick and the ride is just perfect only time I have issues is understeer when booting it too hard in the wet.....8/10 for me. and to compare it to a landy evoque they are as comfortable to drive as each other...the chevvy is a well tooled motor and the 6 speed manual box is a dream. even when race changing.
Youre not the only one
Another great review from Rebecca! :D particularly like how the camera is placed in front of her when she's driving.
I'm captivated!!
New camera angle. Great view!
love your reviews rebecca, you and mat are the best on youtube
And Doug de muro
I like this car. My dad had it.
You have improved you reviews immensely Rebeca. Well done. You look fantastic in jeans too :P
The IIHS tests vehicle seats for whiplash protection and 5mph bumper tests, but other than that, I haven't heard very much about severe rear end testing form either the NHTSA nor the IIHS.
Personally I found, via a test drive, the Captiva was quiet, responsive and gentle in breaking.
I always love the way she says "here".
I rather like the presenter. XD
She is quite good tbh
That facelift is amazing
It's safe to say, she's getting better !
Gud job rebecca, here in OZ we have got this as Holden Cativa and surely biggest problem is body role, engine and cabin noise than low quality music system....
I was wondering if you have done a review on the new Chrysler grand voyager if you haven't please do one!
1:15: "quite alot of luggaishhhh" :))
thank god for springtime
Good review, just need to slow the pace a bit.Maybe take the cars to Silverston and show us a bit of a handling review lol
Good review!!
In Australia they are made by Holden (same thing) and they are everywhere!
There is a third row in the Captiva??? Amazing!
Brilliant review this one is!! Getting really confident now and a pleasure to watch. She's almost cheeky!! lol! Matt ..... ya fired!!! ha ha. Well done Rebecca. :)
Amazing SUV
When I first saw this car, it looked old, than I've seen the 2014, than I thought it was just an error, than I looked it up, than it was a 2014, but my first thing that came to mind was that, their trying to keep the look of the chevy trax, but put a little of the Kia Rondo in it, than it came up,with what ever this car is, I don't think it will sale.
Note to the cameraman and video editor person: please try to shoot a shot in a way that the shadow isn't completely blocking the light inside of the car like at 1:16.
i don't know about 7 seaters, but here in America the 9 seater Chevrolet Suburban does very well, and 9 seater mini and full sized vans do very well also
This car was a death trap. Owned a 2010
Abs Issues, Engine problems ( 2.4 Gas ), shock absorber leak, A/C compressor blowup, Cooling system problems, High maintenance cost, and lastly Parts scamming.
10 years of suffering then I gave it up. Learnt my lesson.
They have a 5 star safety rating
They are not so different in size. The Kuga is 4,443 mm and the Captiva is 4,637 mm. Thats only 19,4 cm. Differences between other cars in the same class are huge. Mazda 3 vs Golf Mk7 for example. The Mazda is 4,506 mm and the Golf is 4,255 mm. That's 25,1 cm! This is a huge difference! However these cars are compared by reviewers because they're in the same class.
please make review on the landcruiser.
She's really gotten good at this.
getting this soon
Thanks. I'll take my chances.
Perfect! I guess nobody will mind, if you say a 6 footer instead of mat. Yes, Mat is 5'11'' but come-on shoes will make him 6' anyway. Also add a suggestion for viewers to check leg and head room for themselves, when they have a chance..
But anyway these are points on being hyper critical - The review is perfect anyway and damn damn better than zillions of review on TH-cam.
Definitely wouldn’t mind testing out that back seat with her
Very nice.....nice shape!
i giggle everytime she says 5 foot 4 and a half ;)... awesome review Rebecca
Wow... she is looking pretty good in this review. She look like this for all her reviews. Pleasantly surprised!!
Hello sir could you tell me please USA Captiva sport shock absorbers can fit in Captiva C140? Thanks for answer by the way!))
Can you do a review about the Mercedes-Benz A Class? please
i like how she says "Here"
why do british people love to say, " it's absolutely...." anyway i think it's absolutely beautiful the way they say it and i love their british accent, they just sound a lot more sophisticated than americans or australians or canadians
So before I assume .. the driver seat in this video was on the left or is that just because of video
I personally think the Captiva feels a bit like a SUV, I mean look at the steering wheeel, so huge and thing like you find in big American SUVS lol
That's a nice boot, the car's nice too.
you never showed the rearmost window opener
I think the steering wheel is so big and a bit thin.. like the buses's
Craptiva
From the side this car looks allot like the Honda CRV to me. Great review.
I wonder what 7 seater can actually fit adults in the third row for long journeys apart from say a Mercedes GL
In Australia its Holden Captiva not Chevrolet Captiva :)
Tough competition for Mat!
Little bit awkward how you only get that tiny lcd thing where the sat nav obviously should be on the higher spec
Is this basically the same car as the Chevy traverse and the Buick enclave?
because no one hauls 9 people all day, every day. If they do need it, they can hire a Ford Transit people carrier etc. Typical MPVs here are Ford Galaxy Opel/VX Zafira. Fuel efficient, plenty of torque, does the job fine.
This funny shaped bag! All fit in their quite nicely! Lol
Rebecca, any chance of a Subaru XV test before I go for a test drive! :)
Give us some comparative numbers if you can. "it's huge" doesn't really mean much.
new captiva's front bit reminds me a lot of hyundai santa fe
It uses parts from the Saturn Vue and is designed to be a fleet vehicle.
I've got this strong feeling that the cameraman also found it difficult to focus on the car :D I'm judging it on the fact, that the viewing angles are concentrated on Rebecca's atributes way more frequently that they should ;p Nothing wrong with that, though ;]
Is this like the Holden Captiva.
what truck?
I had one. Great big SUV. Biggest problem was reliability and customer care. Both well below par. Economy isn't great, but the 180HP has lots of guts.
I liked the it a lot. But these issues made me change to a VW.
Is the Vw better thab chevy?
Now VW is unreliability personified, it is unreliability on a whole other level. If it was reliabilty you were after you have turned to the wrong place !!!
@@xXMrGamePlayerXx VW reliability is extremely poor, and very expensive to maintain when out of warranty.
I wish we got this as a second generation in the US 😢
Yeah, I struggle with the lack of rear-end crash integrity for the 3rd row of seats (2nd even?) I mean, one puts their most loved children in 3rd row (for once I'm NOT being sarcastic !!) and then a rear end shunt could be fatal for them. There is NO legislation for passenger safety in a rear shunt event and it's clear that being THAT close to the tailgate you'll (or your child will) be the crunple zone.
What a body, the car's not bad either. The presenter is well fit !
it's the pink thong girl, lol
great time to be alive.
brumsgrub I see you watched the Orlando review too. :D
I think you had a bit of a problem with the luminosity of the sun because we can't see much of the butt and the passenger seat. It's a detail but it's better to notice it.
Agreed but I wasn't talking about that. A poster called this an American car while technically it's not.
Mi camioneta tal cual y la amo.
Maybe you have your reasons. But I was not kidding. It is a great car for the price. Its as good as a BMW X1.
I would prefer to spend a bit more and buy the Vauxhall/Opel Antara, which is made in the same factory but has much more quality (what is a stab in the back for Daewoo), and has 4x4 as standard, corners better also.
How can you compare this SUV with a Ford Kuga which only has 5 seats?
This car is such great!
It fits the carbuyer big bottle TEST? So it fits the test not the bottle.
very good
Sweety you are improving with your reviews, very clever using your height to check proportions of the vehicle. Keep it up girl!!!
I want her!
how does she know that the manual isn't good?... she drove the auto! i guess she heard a rumour?
"yea, this "bottle holder" holds your tabasco bottle"
First thing she says 'lets see how much room there is in the back'. Mmm, yes lets do that haha
2:42 It looks like Rebecca's driving a truck under water - the steering wheel looks huge and the picture is kind of bubbly (I know it's the lens effect):-)
the ford kuga is a different size car so you can not compare the two . also if you brake hard in any car they rock and looking at the video i did not see the rocking you said , it did not sound noisy and its a bloody big car to be going on with ,
i miss Rebecca
The suspension softens out
Lots of room in the back? Hmm ( thanks for sharing love )
