The raptor *ranger* the ranger is a mid/small sized truck, the regular raptor is based off the F-150 and is a full sized truck. And the Baja series isn't a rally, it's just a race. Rally implies there are stages, and set points. Baja has a course, but it's a point to point, balls to the wall race, not a point to point to point, strung out over days. It's all at once.

The concern here is that like the VW Amarok and even with two turbos and a 10 speed box that it won't develop enough low down power for serous use. The current UK Ranger is available with a 2.2 or 3.2 diesel - the latter being nice and punchy and being able to tow a ton more than the new Raptor. At least when Ford USA bought out the new F-150 Raptor even with the smaller V6 engine it still had decent amount of capacity and clout and could definitely get the job done.
Not really this is a midsize truck. The off-road version of the Chevy Colorado (Chevrolet’s mid size truck) is only a 2.0 litre aswell.

Joe Turner The ZR2 has a 300HP 3.6l V6 that will shame this 2.0l turbo diesel. It also has an available 2.8l turbo diesel that's down on peak rated HP to the Ranger's 2.0l and matches its rated peak torque, but it'll likely offer better performance under load due to the big displacement difference offering a fatter curve(think 'average torque' across the RPM range).
I do like the new Ranger, but the turbo diesel 2.0l is just not an impressive engine at all. At least, here in the states, the Ranger will only be offered(thus far) with the awesome 2.3l 'EcoBoost', should be at around 300HP & 350lb-ft with the great 10 speed auto, and will be a much better match than that undersized diesel.
I, personally, would LOVE to see a version of the F150's new 3.0l V6 diesel, rated at 250HP & 440lb-ft(detune it to, say, 220HP & 400lb-ft for the Ranger with an emphasis on fuel efficiency, the extra 1.0l of displacement offering MUCH more usable 'average' HP/torque than the 2.0l - I can mod it back up past the F150 specs myself LOL) with the same 10 speed, that would be a great combo and would at the very least be much more fitting for the Ranger Raptor than the rinky dink 2.0l. The 2.3 EcoBoost would be even better since this is supposed to be a performance model instead of a work truck, but it seems like high[er] HP gas engines aren't popular in these trucks outside of North America. Anyway, I doubt Ford offers the 3.0l in the Ranger(let alone the F150's 2.7l 325HP/400lb-ft V6 Ecoboost - that would be THE SHIT!), Ford is really big on segmenting similar product lines so that they don't canabalize sales from one another(a good problem to have IMO - better a potential F150 buyer instead get a 2.7l EB or 3.0l TD Ranger than a 2.8l TD Cheby Colorado...)

Thomas Christopher White there have already be left hand drives Ranger Raptor test mulrs seen in the US. The US has the largest truck market in the world. No reason for it not to come here.
I seriously hope that it at least gets the [presumably] 300HP 2.3l EcoBoost of the standard Ranger instead of the rather anemic 2.0l global diesel seen here - or, better yet, the F150's 325HP 2.7l EcoBoost V6, that would be a blast! It truly would be like a mini-Raptor then(maybe tune that 325HP up to 350 or maybe 375... LOL)!

Looked like it was perfectly fine - a Ford Raptor-tuned Fox equipped truck doing what a Raptor does
The jump, however, seemed pretty cobbled at a very poor geometry that caused a hard nose dive though, not that these trucks can't handle a poor jump
Definitely wrecked the upper ball joints on that hit. Probably knocked out the alignment too. Raptor’s are not made for jumping, they are a F150 with fox 2.0’s. You can put new a-arms and fox 2.5’s on a regular F150 and have a better truck.
Chuck Beef this truck is made and designed to do this type of things. Its got special A arms and fox shocks. The 2018 F150 raptor which is a lot heavier can do this type of jumps without a problem.

Hayden Briggs Eh, it's a bit of a toss up unfortunately because the Ranger Raptor is currently only coming with an anemic 210HP 2.0l diesel, while the ZR2 at least has the 300HP 3.6l that will certainly dust it.
The 300HP 2.3l EcoBoost should've been standard, bare minimum, though the F150's 325HP 2.7l V6 EcoBoost would be a much more fitting choice for a true mini-Raptor

This is the Ford (RANGER) Raptor. Not the Ford (F-150) Raptor, which was the one tested at Baja. The Ranger Raptor was tested in Australia and South Africa. The commentary announcer defiantly does not know his trucks does he... Even more reason the Ranger Raptor should be sold in America along side the F-150 Raptor, because Brits don't understand trucks. Only the American Spy, Richard Hammond does.
Mid_South_RZR ranger raptor was tested at the f150 raptor site, so it's home through the same tests, and more
To be fair, I'm pretty sure Goodwood's head commentary guy is more so a historical specialist(and quite appropriately so) more than anything else, so I can't fault him too much for confusing the brand new Ranger Raptor and the F150 Raptor.

Bi turbo. It's not a twin. There are 2 turbos but one is smaller for the lower rev range and the other one is bigger for the higher rev range. So you always have boost. Twin turbo means you have 2 turbos of the same size blowing simultaneously at a certain RPM.

He's right, for some God forsaken reason, they're [currently] only offering the Ranger Raptor with the 210HP diesel - when it could've had the ~300HP 2.3l EcoBoost that's going to be standard in the North American Ranger at the very least. Let alone the F150's 325HP 2.7l EcoBoost, which would truly make it the miniature equivalent of the F150 Raptor.
I just don't understand the decision of only the 2.0l diesel at all.
