agree… I moved from A5 to 3 series in 2020 and last October got another. 330e touring M Sport Pro with real leather, all the tech. 70k. Still not cheap, but better value for money than this. Hell, you can step into a 5 series M Sport 20i for 70k!
Great video Nobby. I think it looks great inside and out but the price is just ridiculous. The one you'd probably want is the s line diesel which is basically a 70k car. And that's for a car with a boot about 50 litres bigger than that of a Skoda Fabia. Consider the value proposition of this compared to a Tesla model 3 standard range. A similar size of car for under 38k. Have always loved the A4 and A5 but I know which one I'd be going for given that price difference
It's good looking but I did like the old coupe version. That back end is a bit duck-tailed for me. My much smaller Hyundai has a bigger boot, but this is a luxury saloon, so they've obviously gone to town on rear legroom. The interior quality is where Audis score. They're nice cars to be in.
Pricing seems crazy for such low power versions, they are pretty decade old engine emissions and power at 2025 pricing. Having straight petrol and diesels in Irish market doesn’t make sense anymore. Only plug in hybrids can work the tax system to their advantage, motorist pays less and gets more power and performance.
Skoda Superb every single day of the week....this Audi is just so expensive.compared to the Skoda Superb.. It is just the badge which makes tje difference
@ no, drivetrain is not the same. Skoda Superb uses a different platform than Audi A5. Audi A1, A3 and Q3 are the only Audi’s that use the same platform as VW and Skoda but from A5 and above it is a completly different one, with different suspension, engine is mounted longitudinal, etc.
Good review.. lots of honest feedback.. its not a patch on the outgoing A5 ! Current price of the A6 is more car for the same money compared to this new model in Ireland .. currently deciding what to buy as trading my A5 in for a new car...
Ya I can't put my finger on it. I think it looks a bit confused. Not cohesive..back end looks a little short and lights a bit Peugeot on the rear. I actually like the Peugeot 508. But ya I think if someone showed me this in 2011 it would look fresh. In 2024 it just looks oldy world. Having said that stick it on my driveway and I'd happily have it 😂
Always enjoy any video Mark shares with us. €60,000 for an SE spec 150hp diesel though , and it'll need €50 in diesel every 500km. Yes, sales rep doing huge mileage need these cars with diesel engines. They are essentially commercial vehicles now. 500km in my EV6 costs me €5.40 in electricity, ten times cheaper to run than a 50mpg diesel. Before someone says, oh but depreciation. The EV6 is not a value haemorrhaging VW ID car, hence I'm trading in my three year old EV6 in January, it retained 62% of its new value on trade in, and i have to pay nothing up front to trade in January for a new one, just a €22 monthly increase. So I get a nicer car to be in, more space, better tech, which is so much cheaper to run and buy. My current car has a 450km real world range, which, in a tiny island like Ireland has never caused me any issue in the 50,000km I have completed. The new one will have a 500km real world range. Please buy these Audi however people, someone needs to pay all that fuel tax!!
Alot of people can get vat and all cost back on fuel , and have freedom. U think your saving money. But your locked in on a pcp deal 😅😅😅 , u don't own your car
@@oldskoolclassicPCPs are great. who wants to fully own a depreciating asset? You lose money buying used anyway every time you sell it and upgrade, so what is actually the difference apart from you get to say you own the older car with more potential for maintenance issues?
@oldskoolclassic 🙄 and you think this €60,000 diesel Audi is free. FYI son, they will be bought mostly on finance also, but they'll cost a hell of lot more to own and run, and whilst being lumbered with an old hat diesel and DSG box.
@@oldskoolclassic unless you’re buying cars cheap cars and running them into the ground you still take that loss. The only difference is you do it when you sell the car rather than monthly if you buy a car for 20k cash and sell it for 10k a couple years later you’ve still lost many thousands of pounds yet you look down on someone who decided not to take that hit all at once. If you have 5 cars that means 5 depreciating assets. You lose money 5 times when you sell them all. Why’s that better again? 🤣
As a current Audi driver (my 4th in a row and 5th overall. A4s & A6s) I think this is awful and crazy pricing … hideous compared to the previous A5 .. interior is a bit better but cheap looking at the same time! Stupid pricing for what it is!
We can never get a clear idea of how spacious or cramped rear space is, unless we know your height, which has been kept a classified information so far.
Looks like Audi have lost their way like most car manufacturers. Reminds me of a Mazda 6 from the back and god knows what they were thinking with the front, looks very Ford to me. I guess the current generation of designers have no idea or have the old guard run out of ideas?
Looks like a mondeo, which isn't a bad thing, but quality doesn't justify the high price. Screens don't mean luxury, at least to me. The philosophy reminds me of those sedans made from hatchback, Astra, Clio, focus - just because it's longer does not mean it's a6 price is justified. Not with Seat plastic quality levels.
Looks fine but not great kinda like the interior but looks a bit cheaper that older Audi. It’s way too expensive though! I saw the A6 also that much better looking car.
Looks great on the outside, classic Audi with a modern feel. The inside though? Hmm… disappointing 😢 That massive screen just looks cheap. And haptic buttons on the wheel? Surprised VW hasn’t learned from the Golf 8 backlash. But such is the way of the future, I suppose.
Wow now that's nice. At a time when BMW just seem to getting uglier with every new model, at least Audi still know how to make a nice looking car. The interior is a disappointment though
Unfortunately Audi have gone bananas with screens everywhere...Plus glossy black plastic that collect smudges like nothing else..Gone are the nice quality physical controls from the past for climate and stereo...So to me the interior to me are ruined by Audi themselves which is so sad..Having said that Im sure many will like it maybe...But for me I want to drive a car when in the car and if I wanna play with my iPad I would do it at home...IE Im not so into having a car that is an iPad on wheels...But thats just me...
Yes, all the metallic elements in the interior seen in the previous generation are now gone. Similar story in the new Q5. It's clear they are cutting costs.
Looks fantastic but an even better review! Excellent work as always Nobby - LEGEND!
I commend you on the quantity and quality of reviews as well as variety between EV, ICE, etc. Hope you hit the 50K subscribers! I
Looks great! This will be my next car.
Oh wait, I don’t have 60k to spend on a mid-range compact saloon…….
Car prices are insane
Paddy Tax
Compact indeed. Can't believe the rear is so crammed. This ain't a family car so what's the point being so big
I'll stick with my current A5. Given the price, I'll be looking at BMW or Mercedes next year when I'm looking to change as the Audi has priced me out.

It does look the part. Really like the exterior styling and interior seems alright.
Great review and great reviews, now subscribed, thank you
Thank you!

So as an A4 driver do I go to the cheaper smaller A3 or upgrade to the pricier bigger A5. Me thinks i take a look at the BMW 3 series.
Sportline Superb??
This thing isn't a patch on the BMW. Looks like a VW passat
Great review Nobby. Just had a quick look at the 2025 ‘Used’ car section on Carzone. 2.0 tdi S Line prices ranging from €70k to €95k! Ouch!,
Cool car , u see the guy that got 1050km out of his 35 year old mercedes 190 diesel , on 1 tank of fuel
Skoda Superb every single day of the week....this Audi is just so expensive.compared to the Skoda Superb.. It is just the badge which makes tje difference
Hmm, other than the badge there are couple more differences: design, drivetrain, suspension, technolgy and brand value.

The fuck is a skoda?
As much as I like the Skoda, there are no important similarities between these 2 cars. Just about everything is different.
Nobby 👍 it is a lovely looking car, and a nice ride is always appreciated.
75k for an Edition one Avant….thats off the wall
I set in one similar to the spec in the video in a dealership in Waterford and it was €94k 😮. Don’t like those alloys
The car in the video is around that money too.
@@NobbyOnCarsnice car but definitely not worth that sort of money
@@NobbyOnCars I paid €53k for an 2.0D a5 sLine black in 2015, which is €65k in todays money according to the CSO calculator
Will there be an A2 EV? Something like a BYD Dolphin?

How would you rate this car against the face lifted Audi a6 Diesel
Great video
A great vehicle for 1990
Something very dated looking about the design. Usually like Audis but it looks ehhnnnnn
I like the front, side, rear needs to grow on me I think.

Until BMW mess it up with what we have seen as the new " concept" 3 Series. 🤔🤔😳
I am with you about a hint of BMW 2 Series GC or is it BYD? Most surveys show diesels to be more unreliable than petrol or electric alternatives.

As a parent you shouldn't have anything to do with diesel.
As a consumer of food, diesel gets it to your plate.
As a parent you can run your diesel on HVO like I do!
As a parent you should teach your children to do their own homework and learn to evaluate fact from fiction.
Diesel, diesel, diesel! I love diesel. I will drive one 'till it's no longer possible.
I’ve been wearing Diesel jeans for years, kids are growing up fine.
Interior looks nowhere near the quality of last gen A4/A5, even the matte plastic has a cheap shine to it.
