  • Well things have changed quickly around here since the fungicide video release! Stuff happens sometimes no matter what you do or how you prepare! Today in this video I am going to show you folks that me or no one else is immune to problems! Most folks want show these issues but as always I am as transparent as I can be with you and it happens! I will get it fixed and regroup!

    I have some fungus in moms yard in Culpeper Va and am running Annew PGR on it. Hopefully it will rebound soon because the last app was about 3 weeks ago. I have hit it hard with axystrobin and and wanting to take it down to two inches so and power rake but then the heat and drought will be here. The plan with the PGR was to grow deeper roots so as to survive the heat stress that is on the way Keep us updated thanks.

    Every time I watch your videos I'm amazed at the sharp border between the lawn and the landscape. How do you keep it so clean and keep the grass from creeping into the rocks?

    One thing I do in this situation is to go over the lawn with a blower to lift the blades back up after mowing. This helps with wheel tracks that can cause fungal issues. The only thing you lose is stripes but it’s worth it and also creates a different type of look that I actually like.

    • @Primetime_Fescue

      I do that on a regular basis also! Does help but unfortunately when you are in it as much as me with a 1,100 pound mower and a sprayer pushing 1600 pounds it just puts a lot of wear and tear on it! I can’t stop spraying but I can stop double cutting to limit it some.

      Done that and some other stuff you will see in next video. The fungus is stopped the issue is it’s still on growth regulator so it’s not growing much and I can’t cut the brown completely out yet

      @@Primetime_Fescue That's why I stopped using growth regulators. Each time I did, I would get hit with a fungus and it would take double the normal time to grow out of it. Not worth it.

      In the seed 100% no seed imo is completely clean a blue tag cert is noting honestly! They typically pull 200 grams of seed out of a huge lot and test 50 grams of that that for weeds then they pull 5 grams out of that and test for purity which is the other crop etc. if you can find gold tag sod quality seed that’s tested at 50 grams instead of 5 I do believe

      I mow mine at 3” but I do have irrigation. I would say if you have irrigation 2.5 to 3.5 and if you don’t then you will have to be 4” plus honestly to have a chance. Obviously that’s depending on if you’re getting rain if you don’t have irrigation! If you are then I would try to keep it somewhere in the 3.25 to 3.75” range

    I'm sorry to see this Brad! That is the exact same looking stuff I deal with in my lawn every year. I've went through two apps of azoxystrobin already 14 days apart and it was looking great for about two weeks and now it's starting to come back. We've just had a ridiculous amount of rain the past two weeks. I guess it's time to rotate to the TM 4.5 cause I can't keep using the azoxy. Hoping that will help some with this.

    • @Primetime_Fescue
      @Primetime_Fescue  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Mix prop in with it don’t use tm4.5 on this you would absolutely be wasting it

    • @Sir_Mack
      @Sir_Mack 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Primetime_Fescue I've already used two apps of propiconazole before the apps of azoxystrobin. Is that too early to bring that back into rotation? Also, when mixing the two should I still use the curative rates for both?

    • @Primetime_Fescue
      @Primetime_Fescue  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Sir_Mack absolutely not I mix them together about the whole year. You got 2 modes of action to help fight resistance. Honestly that’s about the only thing you can do. Save the tm4.5 for gray leaf spot

    • @Sir_Mack
      @Sir_Mack 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Primetime_Fescue So should those be both mixed at the curative rates together?

    • @Primetime_Fescue
      @Primetime_Fescue  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Sir_Mack you can if you have an outbreak or extreme disease pressure but I would try to always do low rate if possible when the pressure isn’t extreme!
