    The most budget friendly thing I see about your backyard is NO pool. A pool is the biggest time and money pit I have ever come across. Nice job on the video. As always, good timing. I was just thinking about what to do if I end up with fungus from all this rain.

    We finally got a good rain and more all day tomorrow. I have been apply fungus control early at preventative rates both Azoxy and Propiconazole. I have a feeling I will still get it. Jersey is a very humid and hot sticky state June - Aug.. Fingers crossed that I will stay ahead of it this year. Your Bermuda has really greened up a lot.

    Great Information
    Fungus started showing up after week of rain. I used my push reel mower to cut the tips of grass where the fungus spread. Will cutting the grass cause it to spread. I could not use my rotary mower because it is low, with the bagger and subject to scalping.
    Thank you for all the tips you provided.

    • @BudgetLawns
      @BudgetLawns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. My research through my local agriculture extension office says cutting the grass with fungus and not bagging clippings will not increase the spread of the fungus. I never bag fungus and never see it get worse. Hope this helps. Appreciate ya watching and commenting. Have a great weekend.

    Unfortunately folks often associate rain with fungs. While it's a contributing factor it's not the main cause. Humidity is the main cause. You can get fungus as a result of high humidity and not have any rain or over watering. However, I agree with ya Travis, let it ride and just use good cultural practices. 👍🏼

    • @BudgetLawns
      @BudgetLawns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are very right sir. Humidity, morning dew and dry conditions are all just as bad. Felt like having that in there might be too much of an overload and confusing for some folks, especially since rain has been my problem as of late. Appreciate ya adding that to the conversation. Thanks so much as always bud!

      😂😂😂 that’s another video for the people who worry themselves to death about their dogs peeing and crapping in the lawn lol. I’m not one of those to rush out and pick it up right away. Interesting approach to let it dry out big time. I just got my liquid fungicides for my KBG but didn't get it down before the monsoon in the north east. 3-4" and still raining so I need to wait. I usually start my fungus control in June anyway.

    If the humidity and temperature added together exceed 150 then it's prime fungus growing time. Fungicides re illegal in Canada so I just tried baking soda with vegetable oil on my golf green (a mix of Poa Supina and a few bentgrass species) and it did an amazing job killing my dollar spot! The spots I sprayed are green AF in just 3 days!!

    The bottom line is its all up to Mother Nature. I have been through the cycles of treating and not treating and even went with the alternating applications of both liquid and granular which have both ingredients and Mother Nature still had the last laugh. That is why she gave us different times of the year for both warm and cool seasons grass to renovate our lawns lol. Great video as always sir.

    • @BudgetLawns
      @BudgetLawns  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed my friend. You are so very right. There’s only so much we can do. The rest is up to Mother Nature. That’s why I really focus on cultural practices. I have been battling fungus forever and I just cannot win the battle. I'm still learning a little each year. hopefully I wi'll get it under control. I am not giving up just yet but sometimes I just want to throw my hands in the air and say screw it and let it go. . but I really believe it has something to do with running water. where I get a lot of runoff is where I've got it the worse. Been getting up early in the mornings and going out there and sprinkling disease x by Scott's all over these spider webs in the dew. I just went through a whole gallon of propiconazole and I really don't want to buy anymore again cuz it's definitely not working for me. I have seriously thought about spraying alcohol that's how desperate I am hehe. My grandma believed in apple cider vinegar, I might even spray some of that on there rofl.
