My dad is from Allahabad and we have family in Kanpur. I've only been to India once when I was 14 and it was such a culture shock being born in the US. The older I get, the more pride I feel about where my parents are from. My mom is from Jabalpur.

This is so interesting, I never was on a train like this, only like from my house to Chicago which is only 1-hour and no compartments/rooms only hard seats. I would love to do this with family, you guys always have so much fun, and travel a lot. I wouldn't of been too happy about the 8-hour delay, I thought this only happened on airlines, lol. I really like the extra places to sleep, this is really cool to see. You're right, the bathrooms didn't look like anything special, and yuck about the smell. We have travelled in India this time a lot so I can see more of India when I make visits here every now and then!! The delay was no fun..I was kinda disappointed!! Just went to Chicago,...kind of wish we took a train instead of driving. Cool to watch this stuff, for I will be in the Philippines next month!
I enjoyed it both times when we went to India. I think on that train it is better with more people around you that you know than not. Because there is nothing better than FAMILY TIME!

Wow you had an eight hour delay, I really despise that when traveling. It sucks but in the end you at least reached there safely.
