    For anyone wondering, you can now purchase custom sizes for a complete fry hatch lid system that has a drain port already in place for water.

    Absolutely outstanding video! Now, can you help me out regarding what you were saying about the EVA foam versus carpet… Something about it being flush but not having to worry about it if it’s carpet??… I am totally lost on that part… ”It” is gonna stick up a little higher that way ”It” won’t bind?… What exactly are we talking about here regarding the hinge, carpet, EVA, and the height or flushness?? I watched several times but can’t figure out specifically what you mean.

      With turf you can make those gaps tight because there is no material going inside the gap. With carpet you have to account for the thickness of the carpet while making them because if you don’t when it comes time to carpet them they will not fit after you have installed it.

    Great job Derek. I really appreciate your videos. Q: Are you planning or do you think you need to add a support brace under the hatch lids? Thanks again for taking the time to document your work. Doing so has made us all smarter.

      Yup there will be supports. Will cover all that very soon. Appreciate it!

    What did you do to make the lid? Also, did you put a drain port?

    What did you make the lids out of or how. Angle with a sheet on top or alum tube ? With the sheet on top

    Where did you get the dry track from? Looks like the easiest solution!

      Been a really good experience so far. Pretty crazy opportunity to travel the country with a group of guys who love it as much as I do. Been working at a boat shop since I got here and I have been learning a lot. I’ve really been thinking about getting this channel going again sometime soon!

  • @tadpolebo
    @tadpolebo ปีที่แล้ว

    That channel will only hold so many drops of water, before the dry hatch becomes a wet hatch, you didn’t say or show how the water drains out of the dry lip track.
