I got a pair of earbuds off Amazon for $35 in 2021 that has the volume control and I still use them today. I drop them so many times and they still work well. Apple is so late on adding stuff and for their price tags, volume control should’ve been added since first AirPods lol.

At least the Android gives me the freedom I want, and apple is not putting me into a box, so in my opinion, I'm sticking with Android.
