    Found your unboxing video of the Sinn 104 by chance.
    Never heard of that brand before.
    My surprise was big after realising the headquarter is 30 minutes away by car in Frankfurt - Sossenheim.
    This made me spend a whole afternoon in their factory shop.
    I'm now a proud owner of a 104 St Sa I with a fine link bracelet.
    Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm!

    Did you make it to the show in NYC last weekend? The Sinn's ARE the best bang for the buck in their price range. They easily compete at the next level with the Tudors and even low-end Rolex. I have the Sinn Navitimer but will get the Breitling for the gold version. You still need to check out the U1 too.

      +Buer Sagittarius well for starters that watch wont last 10 years let alone a lifetime or several so if you plan to wear a watch til you pass and for it to operate you will need several more depending on your age

    You’re killin’ my budget. 😉 I just bought my 2nd Sinn 104. My first was the white 104 that I put on a padded black leather croc with Sinn quick deployment buckle. I wear that for work with white button down shirts & suits. BUT the black 104 kept calling! It just arrived. I’ll put on NATO to be my business casual / weekend watch. Thank you for your reviews. 👍😊

    I really don't get the SKX love. I wore one for a few months and.. it's okay? And I know you're not going to get Rolex quality at that price point, but the bracelet feels super-cheap, the bezel isn't particularly solidly fixed on, it's not very accurate (I was getting about ±12s/d), and it being non-hacking makes correcting the time a bit of a headache.

    Re: the first 18 minutes or so, we are so similar in our horological perspective - all very well said stuff, T.
    And congratulations on the Sinn! It looks great. They're a brand that I've been considering for a bit, the Navitimer in particular. Anyhow, I was toying with doing a video that was more of a question to the community: which watches match up well with watches of greater price? For example, which tier 3 priced watches ($500-2K) can hang out with the tier 4 watches ($2-5K) in terms of quality? It sounds like the Sinn fits the bill. The Seiko MarineMaster is another.

    • @jonnycasual2975
      @jonnycasual2975 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jonny Casual p.s. As for comparing quality of different brands, just remember that not all watches within a brand are of equal quality. As I've said, the Breitling Blackbird is a noticeably higher grade of refinement than the Crosswind Racing. The Crosswind Racing is more comparable to the Omega Seamaster, while the Blackbird is more comparable to the Planet Ocean.
      That said, you've definitely made me think twice about eventually getting a Breitling Navitimer. If the Sinn is even of comparable quality, I kind of like the idea of spending $3450 on a new Sinn rather than $4-5K on a used Breitling.

    • @megagast007
      @megagast007 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jonny Casual A nice thing about the Sinn "Navitimer" is that they have the official rights to produce a watch like that (they bought the rights for the Navitimer dial from Breitling in 1979). This means that their watch is more than just a homage watch. To me it feels more "legit" than a "standard" homage.

    @Ant3739 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi TGV, thank you for a great video. I started watching your channel recently (and subscribed) because I am looking at a new watch and was looking for some opinions. What you have done for me is to focus my search, and for that, thank you. I initially was looking at a pre-owned Seamaster but the one I like is beyond my means right now, so getting something cheaper that will remain in my collection in the future, is what I am looking for. After watching your videos - this one included - I settled on either the ORIS Aquis blue with black bezel on steel bracelet, or this Sinn on brown leather strap. About the Sinn: did you just get the 104 as-is from the catalogue, or did you go to the customising page where you can choose from different straps, for example? One last word about your videos: I like that you appreciate style without being a snob. This is old-school class, which I appreciate. Now, for my conundrum...the Oris or the Sinn.... I'm tending towards the Sinn, I must admit. Cheers. Antoine

    Always loved your style. being austrian, I am close to many counties being famous for their craftsmanship in watches. I own a titaium junkers... nothing special but a nice quarz chronograph. I am at home in crafting, bushcraft and martial arts... so not a watch guy and can´t afford the crazy timepieces you guys have... but except watching at them I don´t need them... however, I´ll have some watches coming up in my Urban Woodsman series, that I consider great value EDC watches and timepieces that won´t fail before you do... A very edc, budget, outdoors oriented project for all of us 99,9% who can´t afford those and especially these... because we often also like a little collection and love them, but still our collections cost the same as one of yours often... however... we got knives, axes, hammocks, boots, etc... and enjoy all of our stuff too... and I love about your reviews, that you stay really polite and friendly and really even respect the fun we have with our seikos, swatches, g-shocks, etc... not like other assholes, who would put hard working people down for their choices... I´m in japan right now, carving great woods harvested in the mountains around temples and having a blast looking at japanese time pieces in department stores... here for training and girl.... thank you again for your friendly style and elegance in your recommendations... you just really like watches... not the image they buy you... my utter respect! Alles Gute! Max

    If you want to get more G-shocks then check out the seller shopping in Japan on Ebay, they sell Japanese domestic market watches and have loads of rare weird and wonderful G-shocks. I got my seiko sarb and sumo from them and they shipped to the UK in about a week

    Hi, when I search you for Magrette, only this video comes up. Does it mean you don´t know… can´t be. So you don´t like it, then? I´m a little irritated cause there seem to be more second-hand ones out there as they have ever built? Thanks in advance!

    With its needle-tip hands and ultra-fine gradations of the markings around the dial, if I had to describe the looks of your new Sinn diver with one word, it would be "precision." Since it's German, I guess this is not surprising.

      ***** EXCELLENT COMMENT. I could not of said it better.
      Yup, gotta love the Germans, they always know EXACTLY what they are doing. This watch so far has impressed me more then many of its Swiss counterparts that are priced far more.

      the 903 in my view is a much better buy than the Brietling Navitimer. Sinn does have also very nice bands.

    • @z00ts00t77
      @z00ts00t77 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they did indeed. In 1979 Breitling went bankrupt and it's assets were being sold off (due to the 'Quartz Crisis'). Helmut Sinn purchased the rights to use the dial design of the Breitling 806 and 809 Navitimer watches along with parts from these watches. So essentially the first Sinn 903 watches were rebadged Breitling Navitimers. I think that Ollech & Wajs may also have purchased some rights to the design as well.

    Oh, and one last thing. Completely agree on your thoughts of the Breitling. I have owned two and will never buy another. Very poor fit and finish and reliability in my experience. Dial finish especially is no better than a sub $500 Citizen in my experience... In fact, I think I a, being unfair to Citizen!

      I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Halios Delfin. but in the meantime, there are zero youtube reviews on that particular model. For a micro boutique brand, they seem to be held in pretty high regard for quality and price point, even models sporting a miyota movement. I will certainly take the honor of posting an in depth review of what appears to be a very versatile timepiece as soon as it arrives.
      Love the channel, keep up the great work man!

    Lovely video once again but just two little points if I may make which would make it even more so!
    Firstly, the live news feed behind you was really distracting, it would be great to just have those beautiful Baroque screen saver images I think.
    And secondly, classical music is my first musical love and opera very much so but I feel orchestral or chamber as you have done in the past works much better than a soprano, like the news feed it feels a little jarring I think.
    Oh, one more! The Sinn is wonderful but according to my German girlfriend it's pronounced "zin"
    Hope it was OK to mention those points, they only stand out for me due to your immaculate production and presentation standards otherwise.
    All the best.
