Have you seen the film? I think the acting was good, music of course right on, cinemaphotography was alright butttt, it's a fairly low budget film trying to be a large budget film.

After Across the Universe and Glee both butchered this song and turned it into a dreadful ballad, I lost all hope that this song would ever be performed properly until now. In this movie, the song is performed perfectly and properly which makes me happy inside.

I hate when they make ballads out of upbeat, uptempo music. There’s only one way to play some songs and that’s the way it was originally written.
@@timelord8472 Fortunately, in Across the Universe they weren't looking for an exact Beatles sound. They wanted to make their own interpretation for, you know, narrative purposes. The original beat and rhythm of I Wanna Hold Your Hand is not smooth and slow, but it still speaks about the feelings of a man (or a woman in the case of Across the Universe cover) who is in love. They didn't change the lyrics so, the essence of what the Beatles wanted to tell is there. After all, is just a song in a musical movie. In my opinion they didn't ruin anything!

The best thing about this version is that it doesn't try to be unique and stays closest to the original. Himesh Patel's voice sounds very "Beatle'y" too.

I went to watch the movie in a popular cinema hall in Kolkata,India ,and there were only 15 people in the hall , I really fell sad thinking that the Beatles have lost their previous fan following, But then when the movie began and till the end all 15 of us sang together in every Beatle song that Himesh was singing, it was really fun and memorable experience. Beatles as I can hence conclude are evergreen ,in today's generation also no matter if they are listened lesser, Those who listen Beatles ,even for once gradually get tranformed in Beatles obsessed , such is the magic of these songs
Bruh the same thing happened with me except there were like 20 people it's like I created a bond with them, after the movie we sang the Beatles until we reach the mall's front alley a memorable moment for me

Himesh Patel's version is he closest thing to the original I've heard since it came out in the mid-1960's. Yeah, I'm old...I turned on my tinny little clock radio by my bed one Sunday night, expecting to be bored and fall asleep, and it came on. I was instantly mesmerized. And excited! It was such a great song...so simple, so innocent, so happy and upbeat...with a catchy bridge. The next day everyone in school seemed to be talking about it. It was a special moment, much as is Himesh Patel's performance.
Not bad. But I noticed three rhythm guitar players here (instead of just one) and no one could bother to do George's simple, yet very important, step-up riff during the verses?
No bass climb either....

I've heard the song Eleanor Rigby until I watched this movie, I seen it twice now.
Am I the only one who thinks there was a great idea behind this movie but creators didn't handeld it well enough. I hoped it will be concentrated more on the timeless aspect of art. That great art will be recognised no matter the times etc. But the movie itself felt more like a bunch of fantasies about being famous and popular with few reflections about life. I think they just didn't make justice to this great idea.
