I have this exact fan mounted onto a cable modem/Wi-Fi router as it does keep things cool and quiet and it's even quieter when you use one of Noctua's resistors.
On a router? how big is that router?!
@@TechLegend-com Big enough for 200mm fan. Small routers are useless.
@@jamesm568 I see.
@@jamesm568lol
Have you ever tested a Teucer branded FD200 or any of their other case fans before?
Perhaps worth noting, unlike the brown version I don't think this comes with the rubber anti-vibration screw replacement mounting things included. If you want those, and depending on the color you want, the price can vary. The black ones are more than twice the price of the green ones currently on the Canadian site. I did see one review saying the fan sagged due to the weight when using those mounts, not sure if regular screws are preferable. I've the MasterCase H500, and I feel like the included fans are worth replacing with quieter/long-life fans. Good video.
The chromax-black fan only comes with the Anti-vibration pads, not the inserts (screws).
My case has only one 200mm intake fan in the front (corsair 600T). So, I'm thinking about the fan that you presented (Noctua NF-A20) and Thermaltake Pure 20 DC.
I noticed that, according to manufacturers, Noctua NF-A20 has a CFM of only 86 (at 18dB), whereas Thermaltake Pure 20 DC has a CFM of 130 (at 28dB). Do you think that the CFM rating of Thermaltake is BS or is it realistic considering the higher dB output?
86CFM seems a little low for a singular intake fan. Thanks.
I wouldn't even trust Thermaltake with their specifications. Noctua has a history of development of products, that's why their bearings are considered to be the best in the industry.
Thermaltake is a company that does not deal in BS, I can attest to that. That being said Pure 20 really does have a higher CFM, one big difference between the two however is their life expectancy. Pure 20 is expected to last about 30000hrs, while A20 will keep spinning even after 150000hrs, that's over 17 frickin years of continuous work. That's where the difference lies.
I have Montech Air X case. I am still undecided whether to swap out my front fans.
I have only had a Noctua CPU cooler in the past, but I was definitely impressed with the silent fan.
£70 for two fans is alot to think about though.
I think it's too much investment for just some fans, keep the fans you have now.
The CoolerMaster H500 series takes x2 200mm fans in the front and one in the top by the way. They're built for it and even include them in the front
True, that Cooler Master case is one of the few. Perhaps we will see a return to cases that accept 200mm fans.
@@TechLegend-com I like them. They move a lot more air for less effort which means they're more quiet. I'm torn about putting one in the top of my case as exhaust though as I don't want negative pressure. I should be ok though with just one in the top as the front has x2 of them for intakes. There's the 120mm exhaust at the rear too
@@TechLegend-com Thermaltake View 300 MX and Thermaltake Divider 200 TG also take 200 mm fans, the 1st can take 3 (2 front and 1 top) and the later can take 1 in the front and 1 140mm in the rear because is a micro atx cube case.
@@nestorarcilaosorio2457 As I've said a few months back, seeing a return of such cases would be great.
@@TechLegend-com Yes!!!!!
for front fan is better two of these or two normal NFA14 noctua 140mm?
I'd say for general airflow these would be better as they are quieter and move a lot of air.
@@TechLegend-com but If I get for top exaust on cosmos c700p do u believe in tour tests the 200mm noctua are better than industrial nfa14?
@@thiagodelgado3128 In that case I'd go with the industrial fans as they are better in terms of bearing. Not only that but you need good fans on the top that can last a long time without excessive bearing wear.
@@TechLegend-com really thanks I get four industrial fans, but when I see this Review think about what If I get 200mm noctua fans, but por pressure and lifespan industrial seems better right?
@@thiagodelgado3128 Yes, they are industrial grade fans after all. So they will last a lot longer than regular fans, even chromax.black.
Damn....I have 3 fan spots for those in my haf 932. Imma spend over 100 for fans....damn. for that price I could buy a new case
What did you end up doing?
Still haven’t fully decided but I think I will go with the noctuas because they are dead silent and my case is huge so I can fit every upgrade in it I want. It has saved me for over a decade I really wanna keep it
@@florider_hd Sounds like a plan. :)
I have Coolermaster H500 (not P or something else, just h500) and yesterday i installed two NF-A20 chromax fans to front panel of my case without issues. You only need M3 type screws with 35mm length (optional : maybe bolt nuts to make it tighter). I don't know why Noctua doesn't provide M3 35mm screws with the fan ! Also their website says it's not compatible with H500 which is not true. I tested and %100 gurantee it's compatible if you're going to use it for front panel.
That's good info, thank you!
Is there a H500m owner that can tell me if this would fit correctly? Noctua site says it will, but is false for the H500 version, not sure if it's diferent with my case, help please!
Why don't you use a dedicated fan hub that will take care of everything for you.
@@TechLegend-com i Guess i should rectify, i meant if it will fit correctly, this Nf-A20PWM fans do not fit correctly the B500 cooler Master case, it fits but screw holes won't match cause they are more Chunky than the 200 mm cooler fans. Mine is the H500m versión but i need to know if they Will fit.
@@Thegeobot Ah, I understand now, sorry. As far as I know, these Noctua fans will not fit inside those cases, not without modifying the mountings.
I have coolermaster h500 (just h500 not P or M something) and you can install it with M3 type screws with 35mm lenght, screw holes match just like stock fans. I don't know any other H series but i can gurantee MasterCase H500 front panel %100 compatible with NF-A20 Chromax with the right screws.
How does it compare to Megaflow 200?
I haven't tested that fan yet unfortunately.
it sounds like most of the noise in the sound test is coming from the table vibrating with the fan
I think it might be a combination of the two even though the fan was taped to the table to not vibrate.
beast. got one of these beauts
Neat! What case are you using?
@@TechLegend-com I went for the micro ATX route believe it or not, the thermaltake 100sg can fit this up top or 2x140mm!!
@@Zombie101 That's fantastic! The airflow must be great inside that little thing.
