By just turning on (leaving on) the g-force head movement and dialing down the amount of movement, along with tuning sensitivity of head tracking (more on that in a min*), you gain a feel for where your moment of inertia (direction) is... e.i. if you lose sight of the hour-glass thingie, the head throw tells you where it is, you can feel back-strafe, and you can feel a blackout before it hits. *3.23 wiped out some of my settings. It took me days to tune everything before and I have not had the motivation to redo it, so I cannot provide detailed setting info, sorry.
Your comment intrigued me so I thought I'd give it a go. 20% head gforce movement blends well with tobie 5 and isn't too distracting, and %30 gforce afterburner zoom plants you in your seat for some Immersion. It feels pretty good actually. Those numbers are, you could say, just a tier 0 attempt. But yeah, It's not bad.
I also use a smidge on those head movement sliders to get some feedback on what the g forces are doing to my character, I don't want my head flopping around and become a nuisance in vision clarity or a bother to the point that I think my Tobii 5 is broken, just slight nudges to represent what's going on

Huge thanks for this video. Will be coming back to this later to change these and hone things down. 3.23 has a lot of changes and breaking down the big ones to help maximize effectiveness is really helpful.
A1, would love to see you do a large ship tactics video. Aware multi crew ships are outmatched in terms of maneuverability when compared to fighters. But some engagement and survivability tips would be sick. o7
The hammerhead for instance being that it’s the most common display: Keep fighters 1500 from the hammerhead and try to bait your enemy into the hammerhead. The Reedemer is clearly a support craft. Good at diving into fights to break things up and take down shields. A good ship to stay inside that aforementioned 1500 bubble of the Hammerhead and dive in to help fighters as requested. The Connie sucks.
Thank you very much for your courses, tips, for sharing very useful information. It will be great and I hope you will tell us how to maneuver correctly. How to get close to one or another enemy, for example, a Hammerhead, Cutlass or light fighter. At what moments and how to control speed, boost, some standard initial types of maneuvers. How to run away from a fight. What to focus your attention on in battle with 1 to 1, or group to group.
I actually like Look Ahead Mode a lot. I play with a gamepad and I can toggle padlock mode with my gamepad binding. It’s nice to snap to a target when I turn on padlock, then turn it back off once I’m oriented.
Padlock I can see being very useful if one does not have headtracking but the other look-aheads are IMO just horrible. I strongly recommend headtracking, it will completely change the experience in SC and other sims that support it (most "real" sims do)
Great video. Avenger, can you do one of these for the average pilot rather than the META pilot? For instance, the average pilot might want gravity compensation turned on to limit the amount of variables the average pilot needs to pay attention to.
