I was seriously contemplating it but I wanted to do the follow up fight when you rescue the kid too, so unfortunately he had to live!
Good save with the repulsor, Lich!! On my first playthrough, I placed Wall of Fire too close to the portal so I killed the portal myself xD

Portal defense is my favorite excuse for explosions. I end up hoarding everything else for Myrkul and then the Netherbrain (and then barely using smokepower anything then, because I just spent HOW LONG building out my homicidal skills you think I’m just gonna nuke everything???) so I love making a beautiful arrangement of all my stolen barrels
Sometime you just got to go all in and channel that inner maniac!
That was tight! I usually make a killzone with barrels and explosives littering the beach and throw a Fire Wall on top once the 2nd round adversaries show up, but have yet to try with a solo run. GG!
That's a solid plan! On my first go I covered the beach with grease and then accidentally set it all on fire :/

I dropped the runepowder barrel from the Grymforge and placed it miles away. Obviously not far enough, as it blew me off the edge. Bye bye honour run 😂

It seemed that placing darkness right in front of the portal, caused you more trouble than it was worth. Shadows in darkness are hard to fight.
Yeah it makes it awkward to aim and stuff. But without it the portal might get destroyed by the shadow archers. Not really sure what the best way would be to deal with it without it.
What about throwing holy water in Front of the Portal?
