This is to NORE and EFN…I don’t think you know how much this means to us older cats that y’all have these guests like this on reminiscing and hearing the stories we never heard…thanks my brothers!🇯🇲
Ed Lover and Joe Clair and many others are the reason that we have all the hip hop podcasts and shows that we do. Whos the Man was a moment that Hip Hop should always remember. Salute to one of the people that helped us showcase the beauty of the culture all the way around. You cant tell the story of Hip Hop without people like Ed Lover. Legend of true Hip Hop media.
true story in 99 we had Joe Clair in OKC smoked him out and he was sipping my guy earled everywhere in the studio. Bro goy cleaned up then did a verse about it look up Mr. Nitro Millionaires .
More like congrats DC for finally getting Ed on. Way over due🙏🏼💪🏼🥃 Mtv Raps lowkey first HipHop podcast. Where every 90s rapper made an appearance at one point in their career. DC still playing catch up. Not taking anything away from them tho. 💯💪🏼
Nore tapping like he wasn’t a one hit wonder is getting played ni cause before drank champs nobody gave a fugg bout nore or his whack axx music and now he always talking down on newer artist and did he get a hair transplant?
C'MON SON! I grew up watching YO! MTV Raps. I value Ed Lover's stories, opinions and knowledge. I totally agree with him on what he said about 2Pac today if he was alive.
I'm a 83 Baby and I always felt Hip Hop raised me and all these Legends you guys have on the show are my Big Uncles and Cousins telling me about family history and secrets us kids didn't know nothing about . Thank you Drink Champs for being the platform that still being one of the Gatekeepers of the craft
83? 90s wasn’t ur era da 2000s was cause I was 16 in 2000 but I’m in da south and I don’t listen to NY hip hop because I just can’t relate to it but I don’t trash it either BUT NY niggas have dese chips in Dey shoulders and it’s a turn off
I love Ed Lover.Watchin this brother right now is so nostalgic. Its taking me back to a time when things were simpler. A time when things were better.Shout out to Ed Lover.
🧡🖤🤍This man is the highlight of my tween/teenaged years. I remember when Tupac went on a Kanye West style rant about Menace 2 Society, Grand Puba and Mary J. Blige, and the classic SERIES FINALE where all the rappers came through, spit a verse, and passed the mic! This was the birth of 106 & Park. Salute Yo! MTV Raps! Epic in Hip Hop history!✊🏾✌🏾🥂🍾💯🖤🤍🧡
OMG!!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST INTERVIEWS EVER!!! I’m 55 and just listening to Ed Lover you takes me back to the GOOD ole days of radio! And he effn hilarious!!! 🤣🤌🏾🫶🏾
🎉🎉Thank you Ed for what you and Dre did on MTV. I tell my nieces and nephews about the show and what it did for black artists in that era and what you are still doing now shows that we are hip hop for life. If hip hop is 50 years old and I am 61, what does that tell you. They got it now. Love you gentlemen. Peace and love🥰🌹
Very good interview N.O.R.E. you got the real one.. Ed Lover is a G.O.A.T. in this hip hop culture, Ed and Dre definitely are Icons. 4sure. I was definitely one of those guys at Andrew Jackson when he was school safety that he used to chase down the hallways for cutting class... C'mon Son LOL ... he's always been a solid dude congratulations on getting your flowers
In Zimbabwe we would get sent VHS tapes of Yo MTV raps with Ed Lover and Dr Dre. We would swap those tapes in high school they were like gold dust.... Thanks Ed Lover and Dre
I had the pleasure of meeting Ed Lover at Six Flags in Marietta, Ga in 1993. He autographed my sisters basketball and shooked our hands. Real cool down to earth guy. Much Respect OG✊🏾
2:22:18 thank you for being specific regarding location. Because from what I remember the vibe was a little more respectful in the Bay Area. And this episode is 🔥🔥🔥 thank you Ed.
I get MTV is international so most of these comments are about Yo! But what he did for NY Radio being the 1st hip hop morning show brings memories of getting ready for school listening to Ed, Lisa and Dre.
Drink Champs needs more interviews like this, this interview was so dope shoutout to Ed Lover...much Respect for Ed Lover and who's the man movie was so dope and funny..😂😂😂
Great interview and love the hip-hop stories coming from the man who was in the trenches! But hold up, did I really hear Nore say, "What the fuck is a trumpet?" 😂😂😂😂😂 That's wild!
Nore got a line that cracks me up every time I hear it … “u smell like pork like Kermit the frog fingers”🤣😂I think the song is “vitamins” with Pete Rock..Dope record! But N.O be BUGGIN🤣😂
Wow! This episode has blown my mind!!! I’m soooo in love with hip hop..the knowledge I’ve obtained thru this is just absolutely amazing! Thank you and god bless!! 🤯💯❤️
Ed Lover did a great job! It was pretty cool of him to share vivid accounts of his experiences with other legends. He spoke facts about the industry today. It’s not much diversity in hip hop anymore. It’s a bunch of sexual references and drug abuse ridden trash. Hopefully the new artists will take him up on being mentored. Hip hop can use some Queen Latifah’s, Lauryn Hill’s, Mos Def’s and KRS One’s. The culture needs to get back to more empowerment, self love, & enlightenment. Shoutout to Drink Champs remaining in the top 5 podcasts still after all these years!🫡
I love watching this I’m 47 now. Hip hop saved my life . If it was not for the culture I’ll probably be dead in jail strung out on drugs. I think my first album was Houdini freaks come out at night. And walk this way with run doc and Aerosmith. But when I heard her k r s one . Hip hop became the love of my life
This is to NORE and EFN…I don’t think you know how much this means to us older cats that y’all have these guests like this on reminiscing and hearing the stories we never heard…thanks my brothers!🇯🇲
