      I think it’s stagEZ at least that’s how an anglo would pronounce it. Same as how you would pronounce the plural of “stage” in English. Good news is English is a language without rules. As long as we know what you mean it’s all good 👍

    Thank you for a very informative video. I love cycling but not willing to ride outside on the street. This is the perfect next step in my training. I made my decision to purchase an SB20 after your review. I used your discount code along with their current sale made this a great deal. I look forward to watching more of your content.

    Great review - one thing that may help your reach issue is changing the clamp position on the handle-bars. You currently have yours in the down position which, technically is correct for someone 5'8" (172 cm) and under. But . . . if you want shorter reach, the upper position would work better (details are in the SB20 manual under Fit Guidelines / Handle Bar Adjustment / Choosing a Clamp Position). I tried to link but your comments didn't seem to like me including the URL. I'm exactly 172 cm and I found the upper position on the handle bars and 165 mm cranks to make for the most comfortable position. I'm almost exactly 1 year in on my SB20 - been a great bike - love it for many of the same reasons you do.

    Have you thought about getting a rocker panel to place the bike on top of? I have one of those for my direct mount trainer and it's made a world of difference for longer rides indoors. I am thinking if I upgrade to one of these it will benefit from a rocker panel even more considering how stiff the stationary bike it.

    You could use velcro to secure your phone to the rest instead of the band. Also, to secure your food cage you could insert a longer top bolt, add some washers and fasten the basket to the bolt. Thanks for the detailed review. :-)

    Nice review ! 2 questions: 1) Does it broadcast its metrics over ANT+ for integration with TrainingPeaks (through a bike computer) or GoldenCheetah ? 2) can you fit a 950ml bottle in there without it flipping forward or bouncing around ? I do 5-6hr rides in the winter and need lots of fluids (prepping for the TransCanada Bike Race)

    • @CharlesOuimet
      @CharlesOuimet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! Yes I prefer to use ANT+ that's how I always used it. And yes, the bottle cage is big enough and in the right angle to accommodate bigger 1L bottles

    Thanks for the in-depth review. I was actually looking at the Stages SC3. Interesting however that the SC3 costs more than the SB20. Could I use the SB20 as effectively for ‘spin’ workouts? Thoughts?

    • @CharlesOuimet

      Thanks!! I think it can definitely be sutable for spin too

    • @rikich15
      @rikich15 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't know what you picked in the end... I recently bought the SC3 for home use. I'm a (new to the business) spin instructor, and when I looked at the two bikes, I quickly discarded the SB20, since the SC3 is the kind of bike you find in cycling studios and classrooms. For me, having that kind of experience to practice my classes at home was the dealbreaker. Also, I'd rather have the console mounted directly on the bike instead of relying on my phone as a screen to check instant stats. No need to say I love the SC3... It's the first Stages bike I've ever tried, I was used to the Technogym group cycle connect, which is very different, but no regrets so far

    Can it run in a mode without any app controlling the power? Just mechanical or electronic switches to rise/lower the power from the bike itself and a small bike computer to only show the data from the bike? Sort of manual mode.

    nice video, thanks for taking the time. To one of your questions, there are some hacks to get buttons for zwift powerups. Here's one review from DC Rainmaker, but I can't vouch personally for the buttons. I share your frustration, I often lose lots of time because my wet sweaty finger won't work on my phone screen and I lose the opportunity to open a powerup exactly when I need it, and I need both hands to drop a sprint, like going for the green jersey in sprint segments. th-cam.com/video/_QpZ9D0Gdg4/w-d-xo.html
